  1. Wow, great track Bobby & Jeremy! This keeps the goa spirit alive in a big way. Your tracks are extremely enjoyable. Keep up the good work and keep them coming! I am still all for an Aerosis album. :posford: Mdk
  2. I made that list and saw that it had a South African bias, but for me that is where the best trance is from. I almost posted the Tickets and Multistate album but forgot they were from last year! For me, South Africa > Suomi! Mdk
  3. Also a way for the "man" to allow us into an R rated movie, drink in my country, and also die in a stupid war.
  4. Antic, I appreciate your valued assistance. It is nice to know help is out there for all that need it! Mdk
  5. Holy crap that is a freaky looking kitty Snapinho! Mdk
  6. Yeah, I know. But it's like picking your children. You don't want to say one is better than the other, but you do want to let them know they are appreciated. Mdk
  7. I will be 37 this year. But I don't feel it at all. I would like to think this music keeps you young, and I feel that it has done so for me. I am also an Ultimate frisbee player on a nationally ranked team so that probably helps. I have enjoyed this community and reading your posts, but I am more of a lurker that a true poster. There are some very smart and entertaining people on this board. Don't know where this post is going, I just had some ideas and threw it out there! BTW, have you heard the new Hiyarant Cd? Muy bien! :posford: Mdk
  8. I've tried. I really have. Repeated listens in all situations. With really good headphones with a nice subwoofer...you name it. But for the life of me I cannot enjoy the following albums: Vishnudata- Dreamforce Lemon Slide- True Nature Sattel Battle- Sounds Cool Igor Swamp- Metsa Vastaa, Kuuleeko Suomi Eat Static- De-Classified I like melody, I like variation, and I like creative programming. While I was listening to these albums there were several tracks that had parts which caught my attention, but I found it a chore to work through the whole track. Like foul cough medicine, I know it is good for me, but damnit I can't choke it down. Anybody who has seen my posts knows that I am a big fan of goa and the South African sound, but that shouldn't disqualify me from enjoying other branches of psy! I like to think of myself as quite open minded. And before you say I have a Suomi prejudice, I really liked Astroschnautzer and Troll Scientists. Must just be me, because all of you seem to really enjoy these releases. Maybe I'm just too old. Which will bring me to my next thread! Mdk
  9. Man, for me this has been an excellent year for psytrance. So much to listen to, I'm afraid I won't get to it all. I will put down my top 10 because there is absolutely no way I can choose only 5. I just can't do it. Sue me. Top 10, kinda: :posford: 1. Hiyarant- Collision (Have you heard this? You had me with the Emily Rose sample! Absolutely brilliant!) 1a. Mindsphere- Inner Cyclone 2. Concept- Paranormal (Another head kicking ride!) 2a. Sun Control Species- Scienza Nuova 3. Shift- Alternator (The South-African Godfather of Psy! He's still got it!) 3a. V/A- Twist Dreams 4. Freaked Frequency (To say I was pleasantly surprised by this is a HUGE understatement!) 5. V/A- Future Cuts (Pure S/A madness!) 6. Arkanoydz- Type One 7. Braincell- Transformation of Reality 7a. V/A- Samurai 8. EsP- Sensory Overload 8a. V/A- Kaleidoscopic Visions 9. Mr. Peculiar- Infinite Evolution 9a. Xatrik- Inside Information 10. The Atari.s- Space Invaded 10a. V/A- Cold Conclusion: Tales of the Frozen Delerium Honorable Mentions: :posford: Dimension5- Transdimensional (I can't really count this as it wasn't made in 2007) Transwave- Backfire (same reason) Trold- Time of Illusion (very nice surprise) V/A- Darklines V/A- Deep Into The Nexus V/A- Fractal Energy (Get rid of that horrible 2nd track and you've almost got a perfect album!) V/A- Hardfloor V/A- League of Shadows V/A- Psionic Substance Ambient/Downtempo: :clapping: 1. Cosmik Chill Orange 2. Asura- Life2 Yeah, umm...that's all I got. But damn they're good ones! Mdk
  10. When I first discovered Psytrance I was wholly unaware of downloading. I'm probably older than a lot of you guys (near 40!), so I thought this music was so underground that I had to buy my music in shops. Where else was I going to get it? Sam Goody doesn't do Psy. So I ended up buying everything from Saiko, Psyshop and Beatspace. I think I am well over the $9,000 mark by now. Then I discovered downloading and it seemed so easy. But nothing compares to having that piece of music in your hand. I can erase an mp3 file with the click of a mouse, but I have to physically destroy a CD or lose it. I still download every now and then, and take advantage of the free "net releases", but I love having that CD in my hand. Mdk
  11. I'm not tired of the same style. Keep up the great work. Your music has melody, layers, and power. :posford: I enjoy your music and hope to hear more of the same with the next Cd. Mdk
  12. I would like to download this and check it out, but when I try to create an account it asks for a numeric code. However, it doesn't show me what that code is. Hulk angry, Hulk smash!
  13. This was quite a good album. I will try and knock out a review, but let me say I was very pleased with this one! :posford:
  14. Yessir, we seem to have this in common! I cannot recall the last time I had a bad release from any of those labels. Suntrip is pure quality without argument, the V/A Future Cuts is a rollicking good time, and lastly, the V/A Deep Into Nexus is a nice slice of very good! :posford: Mdk
  15. Yeah, Magic Numbers was terrible. You kept going to the next track hoping that they could turn that shit-vehicle around, but it didn't happen. P.U. Mdk
  16. Someone has to do it! He is picking up the torch and running quite well with it I think! :clapping: Mdk
  17. As a US citizen and psytrance fan, I can agree with Jon that stores in the US treat psy like it was Ebola. They must figure that if they have never heard of it, the fanbase must be negligible, and therefore profitless. I order from Saiko mostly and usually do 30-40 Cds at a time. My courier shipping price is around $28-$35. This seems like expensive shipping, but when there is no other way to get your daily dose of psy.... Psyshop is fine but their shipping rates are usually higher than Saiko's. Beatspace has great customer service and pretty quick shipping, but their prices for CDs are higher. I don't think that stores like Saiko or Psyshop are making millions because I don't think there are that many fans of the genre to make it that profitable. Mdk
  18. Found it. Wow, that wasn't that difficult. http://www.psydb.net/labels/releases-latest.php
  19. which lists all the psy/goa releases for the year 2007? I'm sure I can go through Saikosounds but that will be time consuming. I am looking for a list I can scroll through. Thanks in advance. Mdk
  20. So far aside from the Even 11 mix of Ticon's In Stereo, I'm not that impressed. Ah, it wasn't that bad, but I was disappointed.
  21. Great review Abasio as usual. I was as excited as anybody when this album was announced. This is most assuredly trance but here is my experience. The first 4 songs were awesome and I knew this was getting added to my playlist. But the 2nd half of the album lost me. The tracks were insanely long and I didn't feel there was enough variation to keep me interested. It was just a progressive beat and no melody change for 5-6 minutes at a time. I kept saying, well the next one will be better. But it wasn't. For me this was a perfect example of a CD that blows you away right out of the gate, but then loses steam from the middle on. I will give it some repeated listens to make sure my ears weren't extra waxy of course, as I really want to love this album. Mdk
  22. While I won't echo the latter opinion, I also won't say this is the end all and be all of Psytrance. We all know that title belongs to the Freaked Frequency CD! :posford: I listened to this this morning and I can appreciate what Ady has done. In this time of 4/4, recycled sounds and repetitive unimaginary psy that sounds the same after track one, we have a release here that switched it up. In the same release you have drum & bass, psy, some ambient and downtempo, along with some techno. I don't think he is the master of all those styles, but I do believe he is quite good at it. So the question is whether you would like an artist that is the best at one style and that is all he or she does, or an artist that is quite competent at a lot of styles thereby giving a varied experience? I know which one I like. Mdk
  23. Surely this CD deserves a revival! What glorious melodic goa here! I missed the goa scene when it first came out so now I need my goa fix like a heroin addict. Power Source, Hallucinogen, Pleiadians, Total Eclipse and yes Pharagonescia bring really stong efforts. Like all who have said before me, if you love melodic goa like I do, this is a must have. Mdk
