  1. I don't think I saw you elsewhere, I just noticed the shirt, must have been Saturday afternoon. I couldn't have know you were a psynewer then... I Stayed up all night, from Younger Brother until Boom Shankar. Etnica/Pleiadians, although not old-school, was, for me, the peak of the festival, everyone went mental! I was also too tired so I hardly danced at Filteria, MWNN, Hallucinogen, James Monro, Bumbling Noons. I also had a bit of a panic attack about my car so I could't enjoy those sets, I was worried about the state of the car because it was full of mud and we had about 2000km to travel for Athens, but my friends calmed me down and in fact we went to a nearby village to wash it the day after.... only to be greeted again by rain just a couple of hours after washing it... I went crazy went it started to rain on Sunday afternoon... I told the guys: "NO MORE RAIN, WE ARE GOING TO A HOTEL" which we did, we packed in the rain and left, missing the last 5-6 hours of the festival. Looking back, I'm dissapointed that I missed Slinky Wizard. All the other acts (except bumbling loons) that day, I've seen on several occasions, but I've never caught Slinky Wizard. Talking about Vibrashpere (Robert), I was at the chill stage (OTT) when he was supposed-to-be closing the main stage for the afternoon and then was due to play after OTT, which he did because I heard some tracks from the Archipelago album from my tent after I left the chill, but if I remember well, there was about 1.5 hours delay that afternoon. To be honest, as Vibrashpere, I've heard Richard several times and all have been great, while this year in Athens was the first I heard Robert (Robert has a fear of planes so it's rare that you see him outside of Sweden) and I didn't like it at all. Any acts that surpised you (positively or not) at S.U.N.?? For me, everyone that I expected to be good/great, they were, except for Prana which was So-So. The list would be huge so I won't bother mentioning them. The only one that I was pleasantly surpised from was Gaudium, realy enjoyed it. All the others were what I expected them to be.
  2. Where you at this year's S.U.N?? I remember that I was walking away from the dancefloor and I pointed at a guy with a black GNOTR t-shirt and told my GF that it's a cool shirt. Would you happen to be dark haired, skinny with a goatie? (That's how the guy was). The S.U.N. 15+ hour goa-legends marathon was a bit too much for me. I left when Boom-Shankar was DJing to get some rest and unfortunanetly missed Slinky Wizard. But the all the rest were great, except for Prana (Tsuyoshi was mixing old tunes with new stuff, it didn't make sense, at least the end of his set was solid) and Bumbling Loons (I found it very boring). Was too tired after this so I slept through Saturday night (Missed Eat Static, GNOTR, HUX FLUX, Logic Bomb, the rest I didn't care)
  3. I was watching some music awards on TV while waiting for my hairicut at my hairdresser's (friend) house. I couldn't beliece the rubbish that was being played and I also couldn't believe how they hosted this massive event that probably cost hundreds of thousands of euros to display this kind of rubbish and I also couldn't believe how people paid to go there. To me, it just shows the power of tv and the media generally in our lives. How it gives value to something that is totaly worthless.
  4. I went to get a beer from the fridge and by the time it took me to open the box and get a can the score was +2.... I went to sleep at half-time, no point in watching the rest of the game and I had to wake up very early today. Been saying GER is gonna win it, check the previous pages! Kinda-nice of a told-ya-so moment!
  5. He didn't make any particular mistake... he just allowed the game to be hard and physical, which favored Brazil and in a way lead to Neymar's injury. Argentina - Belgium, only watched the 2nd half... Nothing special Going to watch NED v CRC and then might go for a beer!!!! Good night!
  6. The referee was pretty bad for both sides. He allowed a lot of hard fouls without cautions, which helped the home team (Brazil). Still believe Germany's gonna take it. Argentina hasn't been good at all. It's possible that we see a European final. GER v NED
  7. Ok... I stand corrected. I Guess it's netherlands vs Colombia or Germany in the finals
  8. yES THEY Yes they can Colombia vs Brazil - Netherlands Vs Costa Rica -> Colombia Vs Netherlands - > Colombia finalist France - Germany - Argentina Vs Belgium -> Germany Vs Belgium -> Germany FInalist
  9. I'm curious what will happen now that we have agressive teams oposing each other... So far the couples haven't been equal in strength. If one excludes Greece - Costa Rica and Colombia - Uruguay, the story of each game was: One team has a lot of possesion and attacks, while the other has a super tight defence, goalkeepers in great form and counterattacks, hence so many goals in overtime when the defenders have lost a lot of their stamina and mental clarity. Except for the Netherlands Vs Costa Rica, I expect the other 3 games to be very entertaining with a lot of aggression overall. Colombia v Germany for the final!
  10. Germany was very predictable, that's why it was tough to win. Algeria blocked Ozil, so Germany's passing game in the axis was nulified. Both goalkeepers were in great form.
  11. I think the guys in the forum have made great reccomendations. I would reccomend Kadasarva, which is a free release, so it won't burden your budget of 10 cds.
  12. I think they can make it to the final.... Still believe that Germany will win it, tho.
  13. Why was it cruel for Costa Rica? Greece was better and had around 4-5 good chances while Costa Rica had 2 with one turned to goal. Anyway, the way the tournament is going, I see Germany winning it, probably against Colombia or Netherlands in the Final.
  14. For the quarterfinals: Brazil - Colombia: Colombia takes it, Brazil play horribly Today: Netherlands - Mexico: I think Holland will make all the way to the final, probably against Germany or France Greece - Costa Rica: Greece wins it OF COURSE :P :P So next Quarterfinal match is Greece V Netherlands Tommorow: Easy wins for Germany and France which leads to an Awesome European Quarterfinal Day after tommorow: Easy win for Belgium Tough win for Argentina Belgium makes it all way to the semis beating Argentina and meeting Germany or France
  15. It really depends on what country and in which part of the country you live in: When I lived in Newcastle my Rent was 200 GBP and when I lived in London it was 650GBP. So this is a huge difference within the same country. I struggled in London with 1100GBP per month (internship), while with a part time job of ~600GBP in Newcastle I could do whatever the heck I wanted. Now in Greece I make about 1000 eur per month, it's good if you think about the fact that the average motnhly income of 90% of my mates is ZERO and I live with my family. My GF makes about the same but she also has 250 eur rent, but she's coping fine and we go to a lot of concerts, parties and have a small trip every now and then. Before 2009 we both made closer to 1500 eur per month and everything was cheaper then: gas, food, tolls, electricity, taxation, cigarretes (although we don't smoke), alchohol. So it's not just that we've lost income, things are also more expensive. In India with 200eur per month you could be considered rich. While in London, Japan, Australia, Luxemburg, Norway, Switzerland with 2000eur you'd probably struggle. When I was in Australia and I told people that in Greece I worked in a bank and earned about 1700 AUD per month they couldn't believe that a person can earn so little while in India when I told people that I make over 50 thousand rupees per month, they looked at me as if I was a milionaire.
  16. Uruguay is not surprisingly good, they are expectingly good: They have 2 of the best strikers in Europe, Cavani and Souarez + 3 players from Atletiko Madrid (CL finalist) + Many other players in top european clubs. England may have the fame but not many of their players have extended top level experience. I SMSd a friend of mine 15 min before the game saying Souarez will score 2 goals! As the Romans said "Scripta manent" (what is in writting survives) so I called him this morning and told him "Told you so, and I have proof". As for Greece, I fell asleep 10 mins into the game
  17. I hope Croatia goes to the next stage, they deserve it. I think with Matsukic playing, it's very likely. Greece, I think the bets should NOT be 1X2 but "Will they score in this world cup: Yes or NO???". Except for Germany, I don't think any other side has made a strong impression, Holland yesterday showed that it's based more on individual charisma than team play, Australia deserved at least an X. Really looking forward to Uruguay V England... Soares has scored many goals against these opponents at the Premier Leauge, I reckon he can repeat it tonight! I might skip gym tonight to watch this game.
  18. I expect great things from the Belgians.... but then again, the same I hoped from Uruguay....
  19. Germany destroyed portugal yesterday. I was expecting it. Greece played a friendly with Portugal 2 weeks ago and the portueguese seemed very lethargic, almost lazy, they didn't seem much better today, even with 11 players Edit: Curious to see how Belgium will do today
  20. So fat the teams that I support have gone badly: Spain Greece Uruguay - Despite strong pocession couldn't score The last team I'm routing for is Belgium, hope they don't screw up as well. Having seen most of the games so far, of the strong sides, I think only The Netherlands have given a good show. Argentina, France, Spain, Brazil, England, Italy, all have been average. Bosnia and Croatia despite their losses played well, Costa Rica was a big surprise. Let's see if Germany plays well today, I suspect they will!!! Despite CR7 and Pepe, I don't think Portugal can match them.
  21. There are many companies that have superb quality but have never took off in terms of popularity: 2 that come in mind: Audio Performance (Switzerland), Adamson (Canada) While others are average and have a good reputation: i.e JBL (don't like them at all), Electro-Voice, D&B hey... we are selling some 2nd hand L-Acoustis ARCS + SUBS + Amps if you are interested!!!!
  22. This is very vague question... there are hundreds of brands of speakers. Some of the best popular ones: L-acoustics Meyer Nexo Funktion-one Electro-Voice D&B I work in a PA company so I have heard and tested many speakers and I've seen cheap chinese speakers playing better than EV or Nexo. QSC is an average-priced speaker. It's ok. Since you are playing outside in humid conditions it is better to get a plastic speaker, but I think it is better to get separately amps and speakers and not self-power
  23. I was kind of bored from the game. I was falling asleep at the second half. Usually this happens when I watch my team's (Panathinaikos Athens) games in European competitions, we play so badly that I fall asleep. At the first half, that I watched with full attention, I can't say the the ref played an important role, except for missing that flying elbow from Paulinho which was even more dangerous than the yellow to Neymar. Overall, I felt the ref allowed Brazil to play hard in defence. Second half (I was falling asleep all the time), but everywhere I read online and the newspaper and with people that I talked, they say that the ref was favouring Brazil... and from what I see on videos, it is correct. Anyway, tonight let's hope for a better match from Spain and Netherlands!!!
  24. Personaly, I go for the music... I enjoy it sober and "not sober". I wouldn't mind if we just had a desk with a big soundsystem and some shade to dance under..... No decorations, no lights, no lasers, no stalls, no hippie stuff... If the music is not good, I retreat to the chill out area or I leave the festival grounds and do other stuff and then return to listen to what I want. I've been to festivals that my friends hardly spend any time at the dancefloor, they just just sat outside their tents and smoked or tripped.... Sorry that's not my thing... I put my alarm clocks and I go listen to what I want, as soon as something I don't enjoy comes on... I'm out.
  25. I liked the track too and I'm generally fed up with the Nano sound. It reminded me of tracks from TIP - God Save the Machine compilation, but I guess you already know that compilation
