  1. I've got no comment for the music because I haven't heard it but someone should have posted the artwork for this album by now because it's very nice. So I'll do the honour: I might not have chosen exactly that font or the overlay design in the top right corner(it's still nice) but the background is delicious. Fractal mountain terrain. I'd love to go hiking there.
  2. There can be only one: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iUMWy4hqAg Old-school madness I used to watch religiously as a kid. I've now got the box-set. I don't really watch much TV anymore, I don't even have one at the moment. Don't mind watching documentaries and some news/cultural programs.
  3. What's the best Braincell album to begin with and/or which is the most melodic? I'm really interested in Glowing Flame label in general. Have finally ordered a copy of Trold Time of Illusion and am very tempted by Little Worlds and Temple of One but I'm going to hold off on those for a little while. The Artwork itself just blows me away. What's the best albums Glowing Flame label has to offer? I don't mind a bit of full-on so long as it has nice melody work. To give another indication of Full-On that I enjoy is Mr Peculiar Infinite Evolution and Mind-dala. Thanks in advance. Jon
  4. That's pretty exciting, congratulations! Hopefully you did a good job.
  5. You serious? IMO you need to pass this place onto someone whom you've seen post for a long time and that you can have some degree of trust. Preferably someone you've met in person. Who knows who you might get or what might happen if you start looking in foreign places. Surely it's in your own interests even from a purely business perspective as you're aware of how effective this place has been as a tool for the success of your own label. It's an important resource and outlet for so many other maverick businessmen, enthusiasts, Artists, DJ's and connouissers. I think for that reason you won't hastily make this decision or make it at all if it doesn't seem right. Suntrip as a label seems to have a pretty rare ethical and quality control perspective that's flowed from and into the direction of the forums. If you palm the sight off to the wrong sort of guy it might start getting twisted down a dissappointing and stagnant road, potentially ruining its effectiveness for alot of people. I've really come to love this site. I don't talk to anyone about psytrance in person(which I kind of like). Most people I meet who have ever heard of it haven't usually moved past listening to the Shpongle albums that they've downloaded. This seems to be the only place to talk about it where there is a strong and consistent degree of intelligence, passion, honesty and integrity of the userbase. I kinda love the fact that psytrance lovers are few and far between. I really appreciate feeling other people's appreciation for the music as is evident here. I love reading the reviews while listening to releases. I look forward to one day posting a few reviews here and there. If you're an aspiring artist, whether visual, aural or interpretational (review writer) there is no better place to begin and potentially become successful/transformational in the PSY/GOA scene than here. With great power comes great responsibility and that power has been and still is in your hands at present to contribute to the future of this music and the lives of those it touches. /DRAMA
  6. Glad to see and hear I'm not alone. The problem is that the CD's are part of my therapy for the harsh and unfeeling culturally-bleak mainstream modern pop-shite globalised world. It's a vicious cycle I tell you. It feels so bad but so very good.
  7. Very nice! Ethereal, exploratory, travelling, timeless, mysterious, hopeful and futuristic lighting. I've got your cupcake design as my background at the moment. Great organic choice of pyroclastic colours in a bubbly fractal! Jon
  8. I really like the background for Wings of Ra but not as much the wing themselves. I would have tried to stylise and incorporate them into the background differently. It's still obviously very nice. Morning Picks is beautiful, great choice of colour and intricacy. Same goes for Danger in Paradise, lovely colours and intricacy though perhaps I might have added a touch more darkness to this one. Newschool Experience I probably like the least, it's still very nice but I don't like the centre of the image as much as the rest of it. Though in a sense the cleanness and definition of this one maybe matches some of the production of new school sound. I might have made the centre of a different form and maybe glow a bit more but it's very hard to say without having a play around with it. Spectral Energy is lovely, I can't criticize this one. OOD reflections is cheesy and garish but I love it. The colours and design are great. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed looking at them and hope my personal criticisms and opinions weren't abrasive. =)
  9. Yeah! I forgot to post some Infected. I've had some amazing moments with some of their tracks. Also: Koxbox - Space Traveller Koxbox - Neurobic Prometheus - Snakes and Ladders The Delta - Pop, Travelling at the Speed of thought, Thing, Delter Skelter, As a Child I could walk on the Ceiling The whole of RA the 9th is one epic track So many more! Whenever I feel a track to be epic, it's as though something important is happening while I'm listening. When I get that feeling from an artist, album or track I try to save and store it and only play it at certain times or moments so as to not lose that magic from excessive repetition. For that reason I'm kind of glad to have gotten into psytrance a bit later and when I'm a bit older because when you're younger you tend to go a bit crazy and play your favourites over and over again, perhaps ruining them. I don't like some of the old TIP, Tantrance, DTG and Goa-Head compilations in a sense because they have a tendency to tap into some of the same nice classics and I worry about their epicness being ruined for me. Being able to cherry-pick 15+ years of psytrance development for THOSE moments and feelings is pretty exciting!
  10. I dunno about banal definitions but for me the Goa/Psytrance sound or theme is generally synonymous with the word epic. Epic is not only the track itself but the feeling that's arising in our being when listening. Who can place a barrier on what combination of sounds that might be to bring about such a state in the listener. So to pluck a couple of tracks from my limited listening library to contribute to this thread I will post a few very well known tracks that I love for the hell of it: Tandu - The System, Rodeo, Alien Pump Cosmosis - Spores from Space MFG - New Kind of World track Jaia - Brainstorm, Mai Mai Transwave - Cycles of Life Indoor - Shiva Chi A.D. - Eye am the I Doof - Angelina Pleiadians - Maia Sandman - Shockwave Blue Planet Corporation - Crystal Filteria - Daze of our Lives, Sky Input Merrow - Born Underwater, Poseidon Lullaby, Citrus Circus I could go on........ The track slamming into my skull right now on Zirrex - Lost in Time is pretty damn epic: It happens to be the title track 6, Lost in Time on the High Noise Disc. Very nice! Epic is incredibly personal. Not always racing, maximal melodic mentally orgasmic and peaking. I had such an epic experience recently with the downtempo Galaxy Science of Ecstacy when it really clicked into aural gear for me one night. Apologies if I've not danced along with the intended theme of your thread. =)
  11. Awesome, I need to pick that one up at some stage too. I really need to slow down on my purchases. Lately CD's have almost taken preference to buying a decent ammount of food for the week. If I'm not careful I'll be a homeless man shuffling the streets in mangy rags pushing my beloved psy-CD's round in an old shopping trolley. On that note, I've got these 3 hopefully on the way to my door: RGB(Red, Green, Blue) it was meant to be.
  12. You can view some of the new artwork on Suntrip site by clicking on the individual links for each album in the recently posted news section. I think I'll be grabbing the same 3 albums. VERY excited about getting my hands on Khetzal, I've been wanting a copy for awhile now. Not so sure yet whether I'll get the 2 comps.
  13. Just the usual haunts, Discogs, Amazons, Musicstack and Ebays. A Trick is not to be overwhelmed by the lack in your collection and sheer want of so many albums that are out there from over the years. Being patient and scanning around and buying a few here and there when you see them for a good price. It's easy to get stressed out and not want to buy any when you see so many great albums for ridiculously inflated prices. I usually try and buy an album a week, that should be fairly doable for most people. I've been on a bit of as frenzy lately after a tax return and doing 4 weeks of work which paid better than usual. I'm daily inspired by psytrance and spend so much time listening to it, thinking about it and reading about it that I don't mind spending all that is spare of my EXTREMELY limited income on it. Cost of living these days is so frickin high and so much money just flies out the door for rent, bills, food and car etc that I try my best to spend it on what I love when I have the chance. Luckily I don't have a woman in my life at the moment for they are expensive and unwieldly beasts to maintain. Just for your info I picked up UX Dragonfly Ed, still sealed for 15 Euro, MFG PG for $5US, Miranda for 7 Euro and Sirius sounds for $4US shipped. I seem to have some luck of being in the right place at the right time. Just today I was drving home listening to a Sandman track on a compilation and thought of the fact that I don't have a copy of Psycho Toons and visualised the album and lo and behold I get home and there is a mint copy just listed for a very reasonable and way below discogs average price. Hope you have some luck amassing a sizeable collection that you're proud of, I see from around the place that you love the music very much and don't seem to take it for granted.

  15. Been finding many of these for really great prices with a little bit of digging around. 3 of these were below the price of a new CD on Saiko.
  16. Cool, looks good, downloading now.
  17. Hi, Link to a modern GOA voting thread There's shitloads of recommendation, "best of" and "top 5 or 10 this or that genre" threads littered in the psynews back-pages that generally repeat themselves over and over. Also look in the best of 2009 thread and I think there is a link to several of the previous years "best of" threads". And do as I do(to your own detriment) and read as many reviews as you can, over and over again, that's what they're there for. =P Jon
