  1. ... but on the cover they say the last one's just 10:40 long, so you should have known... by the way, I find it funny that the tracklist begins with track 12 ... like if it was the continuation of the journey on the first album
  2. Well, this argument was rather more valid in the past, when vinyls were played with gramophones with horribly scratching needles ... I mean, yes, there's still a needle on my vinyl player, but it's not scratching, you know, it's softer and slides gently and doesn't wear off the vinyls - or at least so little it's hardly noticeable - especially when the etchings are deep, such as in the EPs of nowadays. I have listened to some stuff of mine quite often already and there's no difference in the sound ... maybe after a hundred listens you'll notice it or so... And the warm sound being better is a personal thing ... for me a warmer sound sounds BETTER than the clinically clean and "cold" one on CDs...

Noma stopped making music as far as I've heard ... friends of him try to convince him to start again though, so let's hope they have success
  4. My votes for the top 5 of 2006: 1.: CARBON BASED LIFEFORMS - WORLD OF SLEEPERS 2.: TEGMA - AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 MINUTES 3.: VIBRASPHERE - ARCHIPELAGO 4.: JIKKENTEKI - THE LONG WALK HOME 5.: SONIC CUBE - FILTER
  5. got it ... and I've already listened through It's a top notch ambient album ... I absolutely love Carbon Based Lifeforms and with this new release they didn't disappoint me - although IMO this one's not as brilliant as their Hydroponic Garden. But still, this is my favourite ambient album for 2006 ... Ultimae didn't release any other albums (apart from two compilations) this year anyway... did you already discover the hidden track?
  6. of course... even the Visa student card is only free for the first 2 years and then you pay (and it's not that you can cancel after one month ... if I took that one I won't get rid of the Visa bastards anymore ... argh)...
  7. Stalker, try Chilling Matenda - Mediterran ... this is not commercial chillout, but it sounds pretty in that vein! No shanti ethno hippie stuff. You could like that, check it out

S-Range I hope so ... although I won't believe it. Besides that the changes of the scene that are taking place here first hit our small country usually much later, so I'm afraid I'll have to wait at least till end of 2008 for this Yes, I do think a bit in the same way ... prog-psy and house will mix even more. I even see myself going to some house parties in the future because psy parties are getting too fullon for me and I have been to a house-like party this year and the sound wasn't even as bad as I expected mainly because of those bit similar elements it already has to prog psy... And yeah, high expectations on future Tribal Vision releases here too That indeed is something I too look out for! Oh yes, Ultimae too will have some good releases in 2007 I think ... but that's not surprising as I can't think of any Ultimae release that was not good MATENDA!!! Yes, yes, yes! Definitely! I want a new one from him! Quoted from his website: "The next album is planned to be released before the summer of 2007." YEEEHAW!
  9. still 3 hours to go here... but since I won't be here then: Happy new year
  10. I have discovered my love towards vinyls this year ... and I'm glad about it. I now prefer vinyls over CDs pretty big time. There is sound difference. Source files are digital, yes, but don't forget that their sampling rate can be higher than the sampling rate of a CD! Besides it is not just the sound quality itself ... it is proven that vinyls have tiny distortions in the sound which make it sound cozier, so to say, not so clinically clean like the sound from a CD. And that's what I like! And it's just cool to actually see the "sounds" on the vinyl itself ... when you look very closely you can see the etchings And yes, I am REALLY, *REALLY* careful with my vinyls! It is actually a reason for me to like them because you have to treat them nicely! And I'm very nice to them Well, I can definitely hear it, the sound is warmer and the frequencies sound more organic - it's not just fantasizing, really ... and I'm not an audiophile, at least I wouldn't say that...
  11. S-RANGE - TECHNICAL SUPPORT (BACK UP MIX)
  12. Well, I WOULD like to gently slide into new year with some ambient/chill. I guess I'd pick Makyo - Suzhou River just five minutes after midnight, light a Shisha and have a glass of champagne while lying on the couch... But it won't be like that ... at midnight I won't be at home, I will be outside shooting rockets and meeting people and stuff and there won't be any music. But then, after new year celebration I'll go straight to a psy party and will celebrate the arrival of the new year accordingly, harhar
  13. dude, I didn't even think of anything racist here ... not until you mentioned it, I swear ... damn ... I mean, how could anybody crossreference, it's just animals... I guess I'm too much of a good person...
  14. but ... don't you need a credit card for Paypal? No fee credit card ... well, maybe that's an alternative. I'll have to look out for it though, I don't know of any ... even the student's credit card offers want monthly fees here...
  15. that would probably have been the first time I win in a contest thank you *blushes*
  16. What a corny thread But I'd also like to say big thank you to everybody here ... I love this place
  17. Okay, the stuff arrived all well and I'm at least happy about that. But I'm still ^3 at the damn price... I will not order from Saikosounds again unless I have found a way to make the bank fees cheaper. Getting a credit card is an option, but you may not forget that the creditcard itself costs me aswell! And I don't buy so much that it would rent itself if I got one. Getting a creditcard just for one Saikosounds order doesn't add up. I guess I'll just order from Wirikuta. They are in Austria, offer COD, are not that expensive ... all cool. Only with the stuff Wirikuta doesn't have (and they don't have any of the EPs I ordered ... ) I have problems... ...
  18. Hey, Mike! Did I win something?
  19. Harr, I ordered it right now ... from Wirikuta, so I don't have to pay postage all the way from france... Christmas money, there you go I can't wait!
  20. Welcome back, Ritalin dude
  21. Musical review of 2006? Well, for me this year is a milestone, because I discovered how much better vinyls are compared to CDs. Many people say you can hear the difference only on good soundsystems ... I dunno whether my soundsystem is that great or just my ears, but I definitely notice a major difference and am now officially attracted more to vinyls than CDs... Some interesting music stuff mentioned here btw. Next time I'm bored I'll check back here and check that stuff out...
  22. oh noes
  23. pretty strange thing as it does not have the same tracks as the official Shpongle Remixed album... I wonder if there really are new and unheard tracks on this one... anybody has it? or is it just a joke

oh crap, a Tiesto thread! now we have to decontaminate the forum
  25. $25 AUSSIE? that is ... ummm ... LESS THAN 15 EUROS!!! 6 live acts for less than 15 Euros and you DARE even to THINK about questioning if you should go or not - at this cheap price? I have already paid 15 Euros for only one live act. And I'd pay 15 Euros again, just to see Banco De Gaia alone! So get your ass there, I already envy you enough anyway
