I wouldn't bring the viewpoint with which an individual sees the world into connection with the question whether fire is hot or cold. It is justified to use the term "fire is hot" because It will be perceived as hot by most humans and animals. The frog, however, won't. Just a question of viewpoint. Well, maybe, but not with something as basic as fire I would say. Sure you can say fire is cold and thus you will be one of only some very few people who say that ... it's your point of view and you're free to have that. The only question is whether you'll find so many people / individuals to interconnect to who share the same point of view, so it's basically just a question how fun it is for you to say that fire is cold. But it's actually true that the viewpoint matters and not so much the circumstances. I would second that.

Believe me, I don't really like the "Limed out" skin so much myself either - the green is not too great ... but I didn't find any other that was looking as suitable and that was free at the same time. The colors, buttons or icons are not changeable by just modifying skin settings in the skin menu, at least I didn't find a method. Guess we have to change the skin's XML code ... but I am not too fond of that as I don't know how to do it and if the author allowed to modify it... I do see that the join date is gone too in that skin. Don't know if we can bring it back. I will continue the search for free skins, but I think that was the best one we would get so far. Maybe some time later when more skins are out for IPB 3.2... Hey Richpa, thanks for the offer to make a logo, I'd appreciate it. Yes, the skin does support wider logos too, but I don't know the max specs, so it's your risk. The original logo of the skin is considerably bigger than ours though...

Hello folks, so I finally found time to import a new skin. It wasn't even so easy to find a _free_ one that is compatible for this board version and doesn't look like crap. Well, there are a few skins out there, but I was specifically looking for a theme that fits our purpose, which is - name it - a "serious" looking skin with a darker color scheme that doesn't make your eyes pop when you look at it in the middle of the night ... all that while still fitting into the psynews look. I have chosen the "Limed Out" theme. I have imported it and checked how it looks. Looks and feels good to me, except for some inframes that show buttons which still appear in the old, bright background color I didn't found any glitches. Even our logo is going along with it not so bad I would say ... but if you are good with graphic design, you are of course welcom to design another one if you want. I won't do it As I didn't find any bigger flaws, I have made it available for the public. So the skin is now available for you to select from the drop down menu. If you find any flaws, report them preferrably in this thread, please. Other than that, may the eyes of the night-lurkers be cured

I recently did another successful trade with Pedro. Supreme guy. I confess that I was the one who almost fucked it up for being a bit scarce with my feedback and sending the money quite late. well, I won't change my profession so soon, but in the long run I had the half-plan to study arts ... that would also be quite suitable for the driver job I think ... but I'm starting to give that up again because I just see I am not coming along with my arts plans AT ALL... I mean, I already went to an interview regarding the studies where I had presented them a portfolio of my arts (it was on the 23rd, that's my favourite number, I HAD to go there) ... and then I didn't go to the exam and now I have still not managed to get the folder back because I am too lazy and stupid. It's not going anywhere this way. So it seems like I'm going to stay IT support for some time...

I have studied information technology and telecommunications on an university of applied sciences. Not on "electrotechnican" level though, but I had a few lectures going into that. "Electronic circuitry", how to build logic circuits and all that. Currently I work as IT support in a software company. But we don't deal with ordinary computer problems, we rather do higher level things that have to do with our software... It's interesting, especially as a first job, getting to know shit and so on ... but it's not a job for a very long time to be honest.

I got something and downloaded and examined it already ... but what puzzles me is that it's just 2 files, not sure if this is right. Will play around next time I have time. At the moment I'm just waiting till the heating goes up so that I can shower with hot water before I leave for the night...

I understand the argument of reduced levels with more tracks on the record that you are mentioning. The preamp basically has not directly anything to do with that -- at least when we're talking about a standard one from the record shop. That one's just to un-distort the frequencies etched into the record on a general level... Indeed, the grooves take up space and to really get the most out of what vinyl offers, you need to do it like on the 12" singles and put only one track (8-9 minutes) on each side. Then the grooves will be so thickly etched you can follow the track with your eyes (and even fingernails, if you dare (scratch danger)) ... it's nice, but it means that you can't get more than a track on each side ... but the sound levels will be truly awesome. But if you want to save space and put more sound on the record, level reduction is the way to go. This is not necessarily so bad ... on many of them vinyl albums you got vinyls with two tracks per side that make about 15min and the grooves close together and the sound still being great, far from terrific as the pressing plant said ... the level might be a bit lower than on the singles with just one track per side, but overall the quality difference is not so big I would say from my own listening. Plus you can tighten the gap a great deal further with a good amp at the end. In my opinion it actually depends what sounds you want to record. When you are a "Shiva Chandra"-esque kind of audio fetishist who is relying on the sound itself rather than melodies and who also has some deep frequencies scattered around tracks that need to be brought to the listener, you might want to have the best possible way to transmit the full spectrum of sound. But when you are focussing on the acid/goa sound that maybe isn't so fetishistic about every tiny detail but focuses more on the melody construct and plain delivery of energy to the listener, I'm quite positive that tightening the tracks on the record will not do it bad. People who like it loud will just crank the volume a tad bit higher than otherwise IMO... I'll be very interested to hear more news about that project of yours. I like vinyl ... and I'd probably buy it if you released it. Keep us updated

Yes, indeed. But if America "inflations away its debt", it will make peoples saved money worth less because inflation eats it up. And don't argument now with "inflation-bond interest", because if you do that then the debts will stay at their level and won't shrink. They must shrink and this can only be through higher inflation than interest. Which will eat the money away which we save for our retirement or anything else... good video!

So I have now removed the old skins because the display is just impossible. They're not compatible. Note that the only official skin we have at this point is the official IP Board 3.2.2 preset skin. I'm probably going to play around with some of them from now on, changing, reverting ... the usual testing stuff. I gotta see if I can find a free skin that suits our needs. So if you see another skin in the menu, better don't change to it unless we make it offical!

Yes, definitely, the Aurora is even better than the Immersion one. But I do like that one a lot too... This is a cool style. Keep it up!
