I feel the whole style of crossing mind is supposed to be this odd disjointed soundscape. If you don't like that kind of style then it's just taste coming in the way. I'd imagine it's definitely something that'll split opinions pretty strongly because you usually don't hear such a thing and the disjointment can make it really messy. It's weird for sure. As said neither, check the samples.
