Fantastic tracks ruined by mastering/mixing.

I have to agree the remaster was quite poor. Ever since I realized that I paid attention to Schudts masters and I didn't like much of them until recently as it feels like he's either improved or gotten enough feedback about the poor mastering that was done before. Suntrip there was a reason I wanted you to get someone else to master your albums! But it's quite fine now. -
I never really posted about DI.FM properly so nows the time! Simply the best EDM radio channel in existence! If you're new to an EDM genre, then that's where you want to go exploring! Especially if you are doing something else and just turn on a station you will find great representative tracks with ease from all the channels. The only downside is certain channels have fair amounts of repetition with popular tracks, but it's a far cry from the abrasiveness of real life radio channels who play britney spears and justin bieber 20 times in an hour. Basically the reasons I listen to a lot of other EDM is because of it, like DnB and Dubstep and all their sub-genres, the variety is just so great you will find something you enjoy. Definitely 100% recommended for edm genre exploration! www.di.fm

I just found Bungle and Electrosoul System! Good shit!

These are more aligned to the actual game (Which I have very fond memories!), but you might wanna check genres like breaks / breakbeat / big beat with hip hop elements. No dnb here.

Wow! The groove structure is so powerful, it just moves me around with precision control.

I don't really like metal much but Arronax posted this track a long time ago and I totally fell in love with it because of the part 4:00 to 6:43 It's spiraling like goa, just total power. I take it theres nothing else like it that any of you know?

I got a couple more Very unique track, too bad the whole compilation it was on was ruined by some of the worst mastering of all time. The best dark goa track of new school, unfortunately suffering a horrendous fate. It's passable to a degree, but really, what it could have been... Man what I would do to get these tracks remastered on a best of comp, especially the last one. It's not impossible, is it? -
I don't know if we've had this discussion before but what are you favourite tracks that are musically superb but end up not played due their terrible audio quality. Absolutely adore this Filteria track but the fact it's so loud and tinny makes me not want to listen to it. This Mindsphere track was released remastered but it was the album version(Operation Side) instead, I like this version from VA Human Hyperactivation much more. Just constant power but unfortunately it sounds very tinny and loud as well. Might I add the infamous Lost Buddha 2004-2007 album, it is literally the best(Incredible, even) works of Filipe but most of those tracks were completely lost. Phototropic released a live version of it but it didn't have half of the tracks that were in the unofficial release.

Yeah you might want to think before you post next time. On another note, those remixes sound fab.

Do you give your music the attention it deserves?

I find myself having to keep shuffling through compilations and albums just to listen to a half a track then I start up next one. Usually something I've been "meaning" to, or really wanting to listen to, just to repeat the cycle. It's totally crazy with immense amounts of data just for one genre and with such limited time to listen to it, especially after I developed a condition that almost halved all my listening. It really became like fast food to me at some point because of the sheer amount of it. When I really start enjoying something it's often because I've forgotten it on, or I go out biking and it comes up on my MP3 skipping and shuffling is a lot harder. I think half of the time I'm not even paying real attention, but this could be consequential with what I do while listening. Filler tracks really feel like a waste as well, because there's just so much of the good stuff, so why even bother with the less than great? I could spend my minutes better, right? Also in general with Goa this skip culture develops really fast for me, because the other genres duration usually goes from 3 to 6 minutes, rather than 7 to 12 minutes, that's a lot less time having to spend on 1 thing. It can really be quite frustrating. But also when it's really good then things start to differ. I can appreciate and enjoy tracks but there is always a difference with the things that resonate with me the most, where the attention it gets is on another level, however this also correlates with mood and situation, changes in perspective. I hope that makes some sense. tl;dr sometimes What do you suppose this collective experience could be? And yes it's consumption, but I don't know if it could be called superficial, because it's still something people connect on an emotional level. Even with my endless skipping and mass consumption it does make me feel and take me to a different level of just being, even if I don't pay a lot of attention to it sometimes. Really, before my condition, I basically hid myself in the aural worlds that music generates every single day. -
Curious as to why did it start getting more popular over there in the first place? Many great artists. I also wish there was a total comprehensive list of purely goa artists and their locations, could make an interesting infograph!

He was from Ukraine too? Very interesting artist with a unique style and I was wondering why he hasn't had more releases! Hope everything is fine! Really sucks whats going on over there in Ukraine right now.

Yeah man! Abasio what were you thinking?!?

First we will release a new album from Goasia and a compilation on a limited cd with the best tracks of the neogoa.tk netlabel. We hope to release both before the summer. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat wat :DD

Yeah thanks for the work rotwang. It's just a shame the amount of votes is still very abysmal, but what can you do! It's still completely representable of the whole of psynews. Filteria #1 is all that matters

I added a spoiler tag for the light hearted(Including me). That's a crazy story though, not something that happens all the time and I wonder what the success rate of such an operation is as well..

I know I've missed something but whatever, for what I remember this is how it should be 1: Filteria - Lost In The Wild (Suntrip) 2: Juno Reactor - The Golden Sun Of The Great East (Metropolis) 3: Lyctum - Vibrations Of Life 4: Nervasystem - Time Travel (Anjuna) 5: PharaOM - Shelter10 (Future Disorder) 6: VA - Lucid Flux (Anjuna) 7: VA - Mind Rewind (DAT Mafia) 8: VA - Goa Overdose 3 (UAF) 9: VA - Voyager: First plateau (Hado) 10: VA - Phoenix (Anjuna)

That's a shame. I recommended PB originally because I used it myself, but I never did go above traffic limit. Imgur seems fine yes.

I am very curious! From what I listened there is a bare minimum of cheesy melodies, it actually sounds like decent well produced "cosmic" full-on/twilight mixture. The biggest reason I'm so surprised is that the previous 100 albums have had always 1-3 good tracks in them with cheesy guitars and boring tracks in between. a Whole album since Cosmic Experience has not been this consistent before. Thoughts? By the way I had Ziptnf make an Electric Universe Best Of The Worst mix some years ago, I'll post that soon so you know what I mean; that there have been good tracks in the new albums. Maybe he ought to make a new one with all this new content.

I'm getting very curious about the cost then. I mean isn't pressing the most expensive part? Why limit yourself out of cheap mastering and artwork when the difference can be negligible?
-
Late reply but I find it even cooler in old school stuff. They didn't have wikipedia back then and information about obscure things was much more limited. Always made me wonder how they ever came across such things(Like Pleiades) back then.

It was more so a nod for the fact you are very talented, so if you find another niche(that you enjoy) genre with a better paying scene then that'd be a great thing for you. My comment came off a little snobby though now that I look at it. However this is great news, puts a lot of questions to rest. Again I must emphasize that the Fragletrollet album is monumental in the psy scene, and many, if not all, singular tracks from various compilations have been as far from generic as possible! This is why it's so concerning - don't want to lose such talented producers from the scene.

Mine dropped a lot around fall 2013. I felt like I was spending too much(extremely limited income) and my music shelf is also pretty much full now. I have to either start selling less favorable releases or stop buying things that are average to good and only go for the greats. As for actual numbers, I don't have them. It was 1-3 CD per month probably.
