Electron Wave - The Uncertainty Principle Global Trance Network 2001 1. Quantum Flux 7:32 2. Photon Generator 8:56 3. Gravity Well 7:03 4. Vortex 8:29 5. Nanobots 8:17 6. Interstellar Asylum 7:55 7. Temporal Distortion 7:18 8. Neuron Tranceiver 7:57 9. Chromatic Aberration 7:39 This is one of the most overlooked gems of all time in goatrance in my opinion, and I don't even know why! I came across this release when I was looking for something particular and was wondering how could an album from the Dimension5/Ra boys could be so forgotten and ignored. I couldn't even find a copy on the internet to preview it and had to actually invest to be able to hear it. Needless to say the suspense was killing me, I loved the concept in the album name and the cover art very much. Just google Electron Wave and Uncertainty Principle if you are not aware. It's all about electrical currents and whatnots. Like a reviewer on Discogs said, the concept of the album name and cover art reflect on the music, it sounds like the music has a clear concept of electrical currents sweeping through in every track. The style/production is very Dimension 5, but the theme changed drastically. I'm glad to say that this album is one of the best. As a concept album, as an album that just has tons of quality and richness in the music. I may try to write reviews for all of the tracks on this album, but right now I'll just mention some of the highlights. Vortex Oh boy. This is the perfection of the electrical current concept, the name fits completely. When the basslines kicks in, you are well aware of the sheer magnificence of this track. Small sparkling effects and the current like bassline seem to travel from the very beginning till the end with a very vortex like movement. Not even Dimension 5 - Second phaze, with it's strong basslines, manage to come close what vortex offers. The bassline is so powerful, so driving, one of the best basslines I have ever heard in goatrance. And the concept and execution is one of the best as well. Not many melodies, but that would break the concept. Temporal Distortion This track is more on the melodic side and the melodies you get are like you'd expect from the Dimension 5, except the production, all other effects and basslines follow a different concept. This track is epic with it's richness and depth. Bassline is very proponent like always, but here it's all about the melody and it's one of the nicest melodies I've heard. It's fast and driving and the effects that accompany it are so fitting on the concept. Chromatic Aberration This was a bit of a surprise of the album. As usual, you'd expect the closer to be a downtempo, sure, but this is not what you'd expect considering the concept and other tracks on the album. This feels like classical 70's floating space music with beautiful melodies, but goatrance style and effects that sound like electrical currents. This is just amazing, epic, beautiful, traveling, vast. Not many tracks like this exist in the goatrance territory. One of the strongest closing tracks ever. I like how these guys went out with such quality. (Considering Ra - 9th only consisted of one of the original members.) This is one of the most strongest and unique true-to-the-concept albums. Every track has sounds that reflect on those electrical current type of themes and the movement of the effects reflect on the cover I've posted there. It is very psychedelic. The basslines are extremely strong, and actually, some of the strongest basslines in goatrance are found here! I dare anyone to find a stronger bassline in old school goatrance than in Interstellar Asylum. What melodies there are, are great and not a single track is bad here, albeit I find the first two tracks a bit worse than the rest of the album, but that's not to say they are even that bad. They are very good, but just sound a bit more repetitive, even though the whole concept is basing on repetitive sound waves. The basslines in them sound more typical and can't carry as strongly as the rest of them do. I don't understand why this is so overlooked, the quality and concept are rich and it's from the Dimension 5 boys! I bought mine, sealed, for 4 euros! I know the first Blue Moon release maybe one of the sought one's, since it's so incredibly rare(Like all blue moon) But I still don't have a clue why would I be able to buy this 2001 re-release sealed for so cheap. Not that I'm complaining, I always enjoy saving money, but you get my point.

Wow, can't believe I'm again actually disagreeing with Cocco, what's going on here! Well taste is taste. Whereas he is finding Limitless Dimension (Gate 3 Mix), Beyond the Stars and Bombed Out only C-B worthy, I would say they are up there with the best of old school. Absolutely thick and moving atmospheres and tempos, the repetitiousness is not an issue because of how traveling they are. They feel like a journey through the vast and calm cold space. Jogging/Running with these tracks is quite the experience since even if you were starting to get drained out, the insanely traveling music doesn't want you to. I feel like this album is less detailed, forceful and not as epic than one of the most loved album, Transdimensional, was, but is definitely prone to create magnificent traveling atmospheres and strong themes very much in the quality of Transdimensional. There are really no bad tracks here, but I find the melodies in Transformation almost cheesy. They seem to aim to be very emotional, but I find them cross the border at times. If you want to embargo a journey through the cold space, this is a one way ticket there. Also the basslines on this release are something that of wonder, you don't really hear such traveling power in other old school goatrance releases, at least I can't really recall many releases. This is one of the last epics of old school goatrance and definitely should not be ignored.
