  1. of course he's not superman. superman can never be that good!! ...just kidding. i guess I should quote that thing Raja Ram said about Simon: "Si has so much music in him!" but of course he has his misfires now and then
  2. Try: Tikal - Culture (comp: Module 02) a bit ethnic in style Human Blue - Spinnin' Spoon (comp: 13th Moon) a bit closer to morning prog. than chill Aba Structure - Tokyo Story (album: Faces of Epiphany) this is more regular prog but it is very ethereal. Asura - Battle of the Devas (album: Lost Eden) wait until 7.00 .... Saafi Brothers - Internal Code Error (album: Mystic Cigarettes) a bit dubby Star Sounds Orchestra - Meeting of Bears (album: Music For Qigong Dancing) Amaruvision - Color Contact (album: Light Energy Performance) Abakus - Indu (album: That Much Closer to the Sun)
  3. I remember seeing 1200 live... I still cannot believe it, GMS were doing their thing while Raja Ram was playing with an unplugged Pioneer cd, an unplugged keyboard and a seemingly muted mic... I saw Simon live last May in the Twisted Label party in London. Very nice, many old classics in the mix as well and he finished his set with Shamanix!!! He was definetely on f***ing fire!
  4. ok, i admit it. Aftel all those months (..years?!) waiting, I simply could not resist downloading the damn thing!! Of course it goes without saying that I am going to buy the cd (when it finally shows up), Twisted records quality control is unparalleled and Simon and co deserve all the support they can get. So far I've listened to it 3-4 times. So... Younger Brother - Epic Hair a really groovy tune! a nice melody comes in early on, around 2.00, which comes back at 6.00. Really well crafted progressive tune!! Audio Chemists - Long Long Arms I know many people find this yet another melodic full-on tune. I think it will work wonders in the dancefloor. The samples are really wicked!! Hallucinogen & Tristan - Strech Tastic It starts really promising... Those weird human voice samples streched and distorted playfully... The whole track oozes Hallucinogen!! Its been a while! Deranged synths, heavy bassline and ...the samples!! However, it sounds a bit...uninspired. Maybe a bit more variation was needed. Prometheus - Oscar Ahh, this is pure bliss. Benji is back in full force. Much in the same style as his album, a bit progressive a bit techy but very very psychedelic metallic and futuristic!! This is amazing!! And around 6.30 you will be blown away... Masterpiece Tristan - Lost and Profound Another progressive gem here. Just lovely. Metal Sharon - Balloon Dance hmm.... I was really eager to lget to this. Posford + Merv Pepler so you have to expect something really interesting. Well, up to now it sounds to me a bit too weird and random. Maybe the Eat Static part overshadowed the Hallucinogen part. Maybe its just a matter of taste. Tristan and Prometheus - Grow More Pot wow. another party killer. fast, stomping, prometheus-sounding. a bit dark but thats fine with me. Hikimori - Black Ops Who is this guy after all? If this was not such a gem I would really feel gutted for not getting the brothromstates tune. Anyway, the indian break around 4.20 is amazing. Then comes the melody and you just take-off... Overall, UnS2 delivers, as of course all Twisted fans would expect. It works both at home (of course you have to turn the volume up a bit) but it must be an entirely different beast in the dancefloor. Can't wait for that. Of course this will sound much better when I get my hands on the proper cd version My only worry is the Metal Sharon collaboration. I hope this will turn out to be the worst track of that album (whenever it gets released).
  5. Nick Barber (Doof) and Celli Firmi (Earthling) are going to release their new project's 3rd Ear album in the next couple of months (it is already delayed but Doof said he wants it to be perfect because he feels they have have created something special there!). will be out on Liquid Sound Design
  6. well, this is just plain ridiculous... The site has been updated again, postponing the UnS2 by another 2 days. 28-02-2005, so this means MARCH. Posford did talk about the distribution problems actually: "Yes... Twisted has recently taken a serious blow, by the bankruptcy of our main distributor, EFA.... this meant we lost a lot of stock and money, and had to find new distribution... i would urge fans of twisted to actually buy the CDs, instead of just downloading it, in order to see future releases!" in a recent interview: http://www.shpongle.com/hallucinogen/frame-main.htm I hope everything goes well for twisted, its a company that oozes quality.
  7. no album title or release date yet (not that a Twisted release date would be anything to take seriously) BUT a tracklist! 1. Feeling Blue 2. So Strange 3. Waiting For The Day 4. Falling 5. Meditity 6. Crazy 7. Spaniard 8. Fly 9. Outerspace as you see the already released 05 and 08 are in here but the're great anyway and probably this is their natural context!
  8. I will, too, have to rate shulman and bluetech higher than entheogenic. If you want more trippy/psy stuff get shulman. I f you want more dubby/psy stuff get bluetech. BUT another very sweet album you should check (go to saikosounds for looong sound samples) is: Androcell - Emotivision
  9. Simon Posford & Ben Watkins ...wow... if these two minds could get a contructive resonance (of creativity+imagination+experience) I think we would have much more than an all time classic of psychedelic electronica music...

well, seraph, I guess there is a difference betwen listening to IFO now and back in the day. Are you sure it would have made the same impression of you if you had bought it today?
  11. ...distubing sound of goa !?!?!?!? anyway... you could try: Etnica - Be Serious The Mystery of the Yeti - Tribal Gathering Tikal - Culture Saafi Brothers - Into States Of Consciousness Saafi Brothers - Degravitating Aba Structure - The Internal Lumen - Under-Over Taruna - Regulus Gus Till - Inamorata

  13. wow, i never expected so many greeks around here! to evans: well, i suppose its produced by such a program (I remember a professor in the university working with cellular automata to simulate solar activity) i'm physicist by the way
