  1. Of course I see what you mean, and we all would want them to make better music. My point is just that your claim of them selling less cds this way is wrong. It's rather the opposite. The kids crave full-on, sad but true.
  2. Blue Room wins teh prize, but there's many good ones of course; Psy-Harmonics, Twisted, Dragonfly, Boshke Beats, Iboga, Flying Rhino to mention a few....
  3. Sorry, but I don't think you know what you're talking about. Since when was psynews and isratrance a reliable source for what's popular? I can guarantee you that this cd will sell much much more than any "good" psy cd released this year. Either you like it or not, full on sells, open your eyes fgs.
  4. Essential stuff here from The Orb. Absolutely one of their best, along with "Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld" and "Orbus Terrarum". All masterpieces.
  5. Synaesthesia - Desideratum Blue Planet Corporation - Blue Planet Pete Namlook & Bill Laswell - Psychonavigation
  6. Well, Perfect Stranger = BLT, so he was indeed mentioned. Check your facts.
  7. Every full-on producer, period. And pretty much everything categorized as "dark" psy too.
  8. A big part of the releases include Namlook yes, but as it says on the page the releases with "PS" catalogue numbers are made by other artists. The guy certainly has some cds under his belt....
  9. I have to pick an old-school tune I've listened to recently: Elysium - Subconciousness Awesome stuff!
  10. Psy: Hallucinogen - LSD (Original choice I know) Non-psy: L.S.G. - Netherworld
  11. You couldn't possibly tell me which hub you found that on?
  12. Are you serious? There's lots and lots of groups that would fit into this category. Go through the review section for each year (especially the comps), and you'll find more than enough.
  13. Wouldn't mind hearing that remix of Lunar Civilization....
  14. You can find all their releases listed at Discogs. And don't be so damn lazy, you can easily find all the info you need on google or something.
  15. No wonder your list is getting long when you name the same artists several times. Oforia=Tandu=Pigs In Space, Astral Projection=SFX and so on. If every alias counted as an artist, the lists would be very ugly eventually.... As for Norway, I frankly don't know many psy artists. The only one I can think of atm is Trold, which released an album in 2003. There's probably some more, anyone got an idea?
  16. If his taste has deteriorated to this pile of crap he could have just stayed away for all I care. To call yourself a "wizard" and include shit music like this on your cd is kind of a self-contradiction, don't you think?
  17. Old-school is a description of how it was made back then. You can say that a new release has old-school resemblances, but it can't be old-school. Anyways, I think I know what you're meaning, I don't think we really disagree on this. What I'm trying to say is: If you could call new releases "old-school", the term wouldn't have much meaning anymore, would it?
  18. Are we talking only psy here? If so: Eat Static (if they can be counted) Juno Reactor Bamboo Forest Jaia Son Kite Ticon Vibrasphere And probably some more I can't remember atm....
  19. Old-school is not a genre, goa is a genre. All music styles which has existed for a while has its "old-school" - old-school hip-hop, old-school rock and so on. To name old-school as a genre of it's own is wrong. Sorry about the discussing, but it had to be said.
  20. If by epic you mean cheesy like Vibe Tribe stuff, sure there are many to pick from. Everyone makes this kind of music these days. Do some research.
  21. Nobody ever claimed it's old-school, did they? It simply can't be "old-school" when it's released in 2005. Listen to the word - old-school - it means that the music is old. Got it?
  22. Laurent Garnier is for sure a great producer, tunes like Acid Eiffel and Wake Up are true classics. While we're on the subject, I just noticed that his double cd "Early Works", with excellent tunes from 91-94 (including the two before mentioned tracks) are currently available in new condition for just $7,5 on Amazon. No reason to hesitate here! Edit: Seems like they only had one copy left , which I ordered.... Well, well, you should still track it down, it's definetely worth it!
