Procyon
BamBam - Where's Your Child. A track that first showed 303 to a lot of now known producers Man With No Name - Geddit? One of the best know goa artists who was in the acid house scene before goa. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYfvKjxeXGM

abasio
I loved Acid House when I was a kid. My sister got me into it. I have no idea about artists or anything but still have my favourite mix tapes
ollylovesgoa
I can only listen to Acid House when i'm in a really specific mood, the first time I heard it I was really dissapointed because i'd been listening to Solar Quest - Acid Air Raid and searched for more acidic stuff, Phuture - Acid Tracks came up and I was just baffled, I know they're different genres but still. It's nice and groovy but never for home listening for me.

I think it is because acid house sounds are raw, hard, given it is a direct descendant of Detroit techno. Listening to it now, it's hard to realise why acid house was the hype those days: it was the first time that people listened to 125 bpm, a novelty, something never heard before. I remember how entranced I felt when I listened to Phuture's Acid Trax beats. I think if a flying saucer landed before my eyes it wouldn't make me so stunned as when I heard the first high bpm track. It's definetly novel! I can never get over the whistles haha, but high bpm? Fullon Psytrance was my first introduction to electronic music so I immediately developed a love of the fast, 4-4 banging beat, one of the problems i've always had with House in general is that i've always found it too slow for my tastes, then again I love ambient but that's a different kettle of fish. Tatsu
The music that moved our parent's asses? Woodstock, you know it? I like some of the stuff posted here but I never bought any records (ok, I have the S-Express Theme somewhere). I got into electronic music some years later with german techno and rave. The whole acid movement does look lovely to my eyes, it used to has thiss "fuck, who cars" attitude that goa still has for me. Together with somewhat silly but still cool clothes. In 1986, it was as fast as it could get. No one thought that it would reach 145 some years later. But in the 1980s things were so sweetly slow, but we thought it was the apex. :D (gosh, I used to get my hair cut in the "mullet" fashion, it was sooooo good) I wonder if someday 145 bpms will be thought of as "those days"
needle ninja
Many consider this track to be the ONE that attracted millions to electronic music: S-Express - Theme From S-Express Aaah, brings back memories...I was in high school in Florida and they played a house mega-mix on the radio after 12:00pm. I had this taped from my boombox along with dozens of other great tracks. So - while memorable, it wasn't THE ONE, it was just one of many great songs from 1988. Dark_Puppy
thumbs up if you read the subject and thought.. "In the beginning was the word.. and the word was sound..." (Afgin - T.R.A.N.C.E.) acid house kind of sounds like if you were to take cheesy porn music and give it a techno-pop twist. hats off to the pioneers.. but I'm sure glad we've advanced in sound. karan129
Funkiest Acid House track for me. After hearing it for the first time, I couldn't get the hook out of my head for 2 days. 'In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void. And darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved uponthe face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. And God saw the light that it was good and God divided light from the darkness.' From Bible, Genesis Chapter, voice by Sir John Gielgud. I actually heard this track for the first time at the beginning of the Karahana Ganey Huga movie.

Lemmiwinks
haha of course the acid house days aren't as much remembered for the music (of which like 90% was CRAP!) as for the fact that exctacy pills were of the highest quality and extremely easy to come by making the ripe conditions for CRAZY parties at a scale that would be unthinkable today. Here are some of our local classics that didn't end up crushed by the passage of time:
Oopie
Acieed! I'm excited to go see some proper acid action tonite. The good tekno/acid parties are too far between.
