    The Fountain

I find it visually brilliant, nicely directed but poorly scripted. I smelt few clichees here and there that didn't belong in this rather philosophical stylistic approach. Also, some religious conotations broke the dreamy pattern. To sum it up, the film is very good but somehow flawed. I miss some edge, something hard, like what he did in Pi and Requiem, the film just feels too tame, which is not a bad thing, but it doesn't grab me for my 'spiritual balls', it has no catharsis.
  2. + 1 Heard him live, he was pretty good. I got recently some new Gabriel Le Mar stuff, his solo album Dubwize, the one he did with Pete Namlook - Namlook Le Mar and the best he did with Dr. Motte - Dr. Motte meets Gabriel Le Mar, all three from 2009. Some really nice tracks among all the three.

UGLY, DIRTY & BAD ( 1976 ) ETTORE SCOLA Over the top dark comedy with heavy dramatic elements, italian usual dysfunctional hysteric family issues, sort of like bad trip Amarcord. The film is about poor people in Rome, that live sort of like gypsies, having dirty, unsolved issues among family, incest, scandals and lots of frauds. It is quirky realism, with the funny moments and lots of outrageous scenes. Sick, dirty and ugly people all around doing nasty things. But all with a message about humanity and mankind. Recommended. 8/10

    Eyes Wide Shut

    Drooling...as well for such information.
  6. Boring, uninspiring film. I've heard that the book is 10 times more interesting and that has much more trippy stories than the ones they choose to film.
  7. Yes, check that one as well, also very bald film, but not as engaging as this one.
  8. Repetition, uh ? Eyeless Observatory & Earthrise only caught my ears, sorry Filt.

  11. Fluke are great ! I quite like this british leftfield/electronica style lots of bands in the middle of 90's went through. Get his albums like : OTO, RISOTTO and PUPPY, all three in the similar style and very good.
  12. SWEET MOVIE ( 1974 ) DUSHAN MAKAVEJEV OMFG, what a bizarre, tripped out journey. I better not get into too much detail here, this is not the film for everyone, just the genre I like the most, bizarre, provocative, perverted, insane, artistic. The story is about two women : one mute beauty queen that gets in twisted sexual odyssey, being virgin and all so fine, ends up at the other part of the world, abused, tortured and confused. The other woman is mad, revolutionary russian girl that travels through Amsterdam on her boat Survival picking up kids and other men, offering them sweets and candies, then raping them and killing them. Hilarious story and brilliant directing. This film sounds horrifying but it is in fact comedy, and pretty dark and twisted one. The two main female characters gave outstanding performances making this film worth for two of them alone. Dushan Makavejev, the director made this film already being banned in his home country, and no wonder cause this film plays with your stomach, it has everything that was taboo for centuries presented here through incredible masterpiece directing. 10/10
  13. ONE is pretty average track, like a trance for beginners, sounds like it has been produced in one afternoon considering their potential.

I meant the old The Haunting film, from 1963, much better version than new crap. And yeah, taste differs.
