  1. Deviant ? No way... quirky, yes, but Cocoon has been releasing lots of quirky stuff recently. And how can you say their music sounds menacing and sinister when you listen to Soopertrack, Zu Fuss, Titelheld, Fernweh, Drehfehler...
  2. Yeah, great news. I was also wondering when will they release an album and this Cocoon surprise came right on time. Yes, also waiting for Extrawelt's first official album, that would also be reasonable to sign for Cocoon. :posford:
  3. VELVET ACID CHRIST - CRYPULSE
  4. Yeah, what an awesome covers, both of them !
  5. I fully agree about Another World. With Trust In Trance it is their most serious work. The Cosmic exploration in Nilaya, dark and melodic Another World, pumping and powerful Visions Of Nazca, trippy and droning Tryptomine Dream, euphoric and positive Searching For UFO's, every single track on the album is flawless as snowball has put it. I completely disagree with you Otto about being their beginning of regression. It was actually their final massive and psychedelic album. I quite liked Amen but it didn't have the level of wowness their other albums have.
  6. THOM YORKE - HARROWDOWN HILL
  7. I have also BEEN huge AP fan, until TEN. I fully agree with every word you said in the topic, but I can't get over the fact that they've sold themselves. Last 2 'lives' I've heard of them were dreadful and they were not as engaging and entrancing as before. They are GONE. Sorry to say this, I still have big respect for everything they've done for the scene and for making Goa Trance genre more accessible to more people. They have influenced so many artists, and helped stretching the genre, but in past few years they have been nothing more than dissapointing. But I still Appreciate their overall achievement.
  8. Recently I have been listening to heaps of FAX records artists like PETE NAMLOOK, WOLFRAM SPYRA, DR. ATMO, DEEP SPACE NETWORK, HIGHER INTELLIGENCE AGENCY, ATOM HEART, MOVE D... It is really one of the best ambient labels ever, such sophisticated stuff, with lots of classical influences and psychedelia. Also RECYCLE OR DIE label with their artists : STEVIE B ZET, RALF HILDENBEUTEL, A.C. BOUSTEN, BAKED BEANS, SOLITAIRE...I have also been playing a lot of PLASTIKMAN ambient stuff. And of course, I still can't get enough of the pioneers of ambient like : BRIAN ENO, KLAUS SCHULZE, STEVE ROACH, ROBERT RICH, BRIAN LUSTMORD....There is really so much to ambient than just downtempo/psybient, so many great artists and labels.
  9. Anoebis, post next few questions, cause I didn't have time to post before abasio got them all right.
  10. X-DREAM THE DELTA MIDI MILIZ SPIRALLIANZ XENOMORPH K.U.R.O. +1 for Chronika Chapter II, banging tech trance compilation.
  11. AAAAAAAAAARGH ! What a shame ! Just when I thought that these guys made for so long and still functioning great. UGH !
  12. I loved it, but these two brought it into a completely new dimension... check it out, hear for yourself.
  13. I know this one ! One of the best dark ambient albums ever... so gloomy and subversive. Stunning piece of work.
  14. What do you guys think of producers doing their own music for some silent or trippy films ? I have 3 great examples of what is an awesome soundtrack for already existing film : JEFF MILLS - METROPOLIS PHILLIP GLASS & KRONOS QUARTET - DRACULA OLIVER LIEB & DR. ATMO - KOYAANISQATSI I like it when producers decide to make entirely new music for some cinematic piece, or for the classics I mentioned. These 3 soundtracks all sound completely different, Mills making neo classical electronic piece, Glass & Kronos Quartet entirely classical and Lieb & Atmo doing ambient, downtempo, cosmic, spiritual stuff. The third one is by far my favorite, such soundscapes filled with loads of melodies, for sure A MUST. I would like to hear more of the similar stuff, made especially for films. Do you know about any other soundtracks made by pioneers of modern music ?
  15. Really great stuff Symph ! You've got the skillz ! What an impressive work, whatever you do.
