Since psytrance is pretty much impossible to find or hear in america I have to think that it is a problem with the marketing. Most people give me the look when I tell them I listen to psytrance. So more exposure is nessesary to let people know what this music sounds like. The few that think they know seem to associate it with long-haired hippies. So perhaps an image update is in order. Then, when I play some they tend to think it all sounds the same, so perhaps some more variety would help.

Oh, I've seen things like this before. Clever tricks to get people to visit a site and thus increase ad revenue Reminds me of mp3.com in 2001 with all the bots that 'listened' to music once a day. Well I visited, happy now. But only because my brother is one boring-ass programmer.

I wish some bands around here would do that! So much of the same old alt-rock/quasi-punk stuff here. Back in the 90's in Minnesota, I knew a band called Psychosonic - "Silicone Jesus" was a rave hit.... Anyway, its been a long time since people got creative and did there own thing.

I think you don't understand. Jam bands make music spontaniously. Psytrance is programed sequences that don't sound good if you just put any old thing down. It's cool having a good synth with trancy sounds to play while the drummer and guitar are playing but I am thinking about the finished product. There is nothing "assholeish" about my sharing my view from the other side of expirience. But then when your covered in shit everything smells bad eh Nemo.
