He's been working at it for the last 2 years, but nothing yet. It will be released under his real name. He has gone off the radar though

Do you know what would be even better? A triple cd edition, his new album plus the two lives. That would be a sight to behold

Artists should aim for the listeners ear. If they go for the Dj then you are trying to make by definition commercial music. But if you target for the listener, then creativity is endless.

For UX-Audissey I can understand, there were some problems/issues with Anjuna-UX. For MR maybe because the funds got to charities there is some legal reason.

@Purple Sunray I disagree. Since I have no experience about those things, I don't see the harm of doing some background research. If anything I need to have a round view of the things included for such a task. When I start talks with a label/artist I need to show that I at least have some idea of what I'm talking about. It's not like people know me, or I have friends in the industry so they can blindly trust me. That said, I really enjoy your enthusiasm

The need to physically own something and being a collector are two different things imo. And don't forget that the medium is a form of art as well, another reason to actually own the cd. Returning on topic: I am currently trying to figure out the process for the extra income from kickstarter (taxes, registering a business etc etc). It is mind boggling I wonder if small amounts like this just go under the radar without causing any problems. I mean, what if 50 people gathered around and contributed to just print an album they love just for fun, i doubt the taxman would pay them a visit

Knowing what to avoid is equally important. That said, if you don't know what to do then you just stay in limbo don't you? Hopefully, when the time comes the psynews people will be enough to point me to the right direction. Either way, sooner or later I will give it a go, be sure of that.

@Purple Sunray And that's why I started this thread Maybe I didn't make it clear but this is just a theoretical discussion. It goes without question if I ever reach the point that I feel is doable I will contact all the people involved first.

I can't say I don;t envy you in a way. More releases available for you to buy, cheaper, easier to get etc etc. However I love my music and I love my cds as well. And since I don't to any crazy extents I don't see any reason to stop. Moreover, my 10 months daughter loves playing with my cds anyway, especially that pink jewel case of Chi-A.D.

Remember that some day there was not a market for Crop Circles album either. And I'm talking about a limited number only, probably around 100 copies. It would essentially be like an inside thing. If we want something as a community we can publish it ourselves. Self funded in a way That should make things a bit easier. As for copyrights etc etc most of the music I have in mind is available by the artists themselves (and mostly free) so why not? They will get as much as possible back.
