  1. So are there more people here in to reggae? Beside electronic music, this is probably one of the styles I listen to the most. Bob Marley is a legend to me, the godfather of reggae. Like just about all his songs and all of them have a positive message to bring across. Some other notable artist I listen to are Alborosie, Damian Marley, Israel Vibration etc. I have a lot of reggae albums, but always looking for suggestions!
  2. I agree that live in this scene generally means that the artist will be at the party in person. If this should be the right definition of 'live' is a different story. But the fact remains that the word 'live' is used in this way at parties. Personally I have no problem with this way of using the word. When I see the word 'live' at a party announcement, I know that I will be expecting a set with some or a lot of the artists work and possibly other stuff of the same style. When I enjoy work of a artist in particular, I have no problem with a set like this. If the music is good, it's good enough for me.
  3. Yes I couldn't listen to Aerospace for hours. Orion didn't really get me going to be honest. I don't know how to describe it but it's a little bit messy and wild. Not your straight up progressive or full on. Some stuff that I discovered lately is Vaishiyas, Infinity and Solano. Really enjoying a lot of there tracks!
  4. Yes, most of them are full on and progressive. Not all of them are really well known. Hardly any oldskool goatrance artist. I hope to go to Ozora, Vuuv or Boom some time and hear some amazing sets.
  5. This is a good question. Our scene is not very big, the techno scene here is WAY bigger. But we have parties here just about every week. We only have one festival, called Solstice. A lot of people in this country who want to attend bigger psytrance festivals and parties, go to Belgium or Germany. Once a month we have 'Trance Orient Express' and that's a bigger party as usual. In a village just outside of Amsterdam and the party is held in a church! :)We have a scene, but I think the scene in Belgium and especially Germany is way bigger. I couldn't give you numbers though.. And Anobies you are correct. There are so many people I cam across that just go to psytrance parties for a good time and don't no shit about artist and different subgenres.
  6. I turned 20 in august.
  7. Cool topic! I have seen live: - Zen Mechanics (1x) - Sonic Species (2x) - Ital (2x) - Headroom (1x) - Dickster (1x) - U-recken (1x) - Total Eclipse (1x) - Patchbay (1x) - Shane Gobi (1x) - Chromatone (1x) - Sensient (1x) - Koxbox (1x) - Cathar (1x) And some others, but can't remember all.
  8. Aerospace has some good tracks, listened to some good remixes from him so far. Neelix I can't really. It's a bit on the commercial side of things. And a bit of a overkill on clubby voice samples and delays. Cheers man!
  9. Man, the majority of the artist I like is almost not talked about here (except in review section). But that's totally ok because tastes are different and it's not always necessary to talk about them. I think the biggest thing talked about here on the forum is goa trance after all, so there shouldn't be much to complain. If you want to get your opinion across about certain artist and albums you like, post a thread in the review section. People that also have a interest in this will look in to the thread. By the way, theres another 2 page Boris Blenn topic not mentioned here. It's on the 3d page in this section.
  10. haha tell me about it! One of my favorite Sideform tracks this is.
  11. Indeed, very nice one! And good video to go with it as well. I find this track kind of trippy, I really drifted of with this a lot of times. A bit of mixture between progressive also.
  12. Sideform - Shiva Kali - Survival If I'm not mistaken, some Ovnimoon tracks have voice-samples of Shiva in it.
  13. Antix I know, gonna check out the others. Cheers!
  14. @ mars: That's a pretty clear explanation. By the way guys, I'm not suggesting we put more or less value to production quality. I'm not saying that newer tracks are necessarily better than older tracks either. It's just a thought about how things will evolve in the future.
  15. Dog Day Afternoon, about a hostage situation in a bank, with Al Pacino. Also: Scarface A Bronx Tale Midnight Run The Green Mile Goodfellas And Justice For All One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Serpico
  16. I see you have the Ace Ventura with Lish and Liquid Soul stuff in there, nice one! Any good prog house recommendations of the top of your head? Listening to a lot of tech house lately but don't have a lot of prog house, although I like this style.
  17. These days you have a lot of modern music and the level of production quality is extremely high. When listening to some tracks from 2005 for example, you can sense a difference between stuff from 2012. Now what I'm wondering, can quality of music still get any better than it is today? And in what kind of way could it even be better? Because somehow when I'm listening to music (especially psytrance) you would almost think we have reached ultimate perfection. What do you guys think, how will the quality be in like 5 or 7 ears? It's just a stoned thought, but I can't help but wonder.
  18. Artist: Vaishiyas Title: Spacelord Remixes Label: Spin Twist Records Date: 23-03-2010 Style: Progressive Trance Tracklist: 1. Vaishiyas - Spacelord (Float Remix) 2. Vaishiyas - Spacelord (E-Clip Remix 3. Vaishiyas - Spacelord (Zyce Remix) 4. Vaishiyas - Spacelord (Flegma & Nerso Remix) 5. Vaishiyas - Spacelord (Ectima Remix) 6. Vaishiyas - Spacelord (Original Mix) The original Spacelord is a nice one, not your typical progressive. It's very melodic from the start but a little later it develops in to a tight and solid track in a sort of smart way. Good job by Vaishiyas, this German producer set the standards high with the original and now it's time for the guys of TesseractStudio to show what they can do with it. The first to remix is Float, making it very minimal. Now don't get me a wrong, I'm a fan of the more minimalistic music myself but at first this one seemed a little to calm. At the beginning it didn't do it for me, but I gave it a few more listens while concentrating on the song and it made me understand the track a little bit better. Not as energetic as the other stuff on this album but I love how Float left the melody alive and throws this in during the break. Not bad after all. E-Clip is next with a heavy take on the original. Straight away he comes in with powerful bass lines and super effective touches, making this track an absolute killer. One of my favorite remixes without a doubt. Zyce takes a whole different turn, giving things a bit of a tribal groove with the necessary percussion during the song. Still he's not forgetting to keep things very melodic and warm. Now the Flegma & Nerso remix is my ultimate favorite track of this release. It's a perfect mix of melodic trance, straight forward progression and stomping beats. Things are made a bit more spacey, after all the original is called Spacelord. Everything about this track is very intelligent and the brake halfway the song really got me going. Perfect floater, just this track alone is almost worth getting the whole album! Last but not least is the Ectima remix. It doesn't flow as smoothly and crispy as the other tracks and I must say I have heard better Ectima tracks and remixes. But never the less it's a fun little track in my opinion, with more of a darker feel to it. The whole setting and the way E-Clip, Flegma & Nerso, Zyce and Ectima appear in this album, reminds me a lot of the Multistop Remixes album, by Ritmo and NOK. One by one they basically deliver the same quality as on the other remix album and they stayed extremely loyal to there style. Not saying these remixes look just like the Multistop remixes, but they did exactly what was expected of them. Great job! Links: http://www.beatport....-remixes/222986 http://www.spintwist.de/
  19. Artist: Synesthetic Title: On Da Way EP Label: Iono Music Date: 20-07-2010 Style: Progressive Trance Tracklist: 1. Critical Method 2. Going Further 3. On Da Way 4. Sticky Finger Synesthetic have made a lot of good tracks, released on several compilations. This On Da Way EP contains some more beauties and the entire album has a very deep vibe to it. It's fair to say there music is all about moving forward in a rather slow and calm way. It allows you to float away peacefully and I can't say there was a track that didn't let me do that. Critical Method is a nice one to start with but it's not my favorite. There's just more going on with the other tracks that it doesn't fully stand out. Never the less not a bad track. Going Further is when the groove makes it's entrance and they didn't lie about the title at all. Some fine hypnotic progressive this is. On Da Way is a little more powerful and melodic, it makes an amazing follow up and very deep once again. It's hard to choose but I think the last track Sticky Finger, is my favorite track of all. It's a very unique take on things and it just has a great drive. It doesn't get boring for a second and that's not always an easy job with a 10 minute track. What more can I say, these guys truly know how to make some good trance. Sometimes I'm in the mood to close my eyes for a while to just fully concentrate on the music. Now and then I'm still surprised how much music can make you drift of if you just let yourself go and let the music do it's thing. For these occasions I usually play some stuff from Synesthetic as it's perfect for that mood. It doesn't give me a chaotic feeling but the opposite actually, rather smooth and always in balance. There style could be described as a mixture of progressive trance and progressive house and that's just perfect for me. Highly recommended! 20. Usually I fall asleep in the dark. But at times it happens that I'm watching a show while falling asleep. In that case it's usually my favorite show Frasier, since it's on at 02:20 in the night.
  21. I must agree, there are a lot of shitty forums out there. This one seems to have a bit of a laid back mentality and it's appreciated.
  22. This is true they are all kind of repetitive. Unfortunately I never had sexual interactions with a girl that could actually appreciate psytrance, always more in to the commercial stuff. But you make it sounds very appropriate.
