  1. Were you really born on the first of January?

  2. If you haven't listed to Bodhisattva 13:20 a lot, I suggest that you do, its my favorite album of the year so far (together with the new Kaito album, Im such a sucker for him).
  3. Got bored very quickly with this one, quite disappointed. Most tracks are just plain cheesy and/or annyoing, 2 3 and 6 I found nice though. Not nearly as as deep and interesting as their most early work, but I doubt very many expected that.
  4. Great album name, sound reminds me a bit of Bodhisattva 13:20 and that kind of dark, perhaps with a more aggressive tone, very interesting.
  5. Maybe Yggdrasounds II? There is a coherent theme here at least.
  6. "Gay" is a damn good description, should have come to mind earlier. Most songs are about half as gay as Shulman - Invention, which says a whole lot.
  7. I have listened to the (whole) album a couple of times now. Its nice overall and has some excellent moments, the singing has some enjoyable jazzy qualities. However, I feel its all too laid out, there aren't that many complex sound structures, interesting moods and melodies, this objection could be summarized as lack of depth, at least compared to a lot oftheir previous stuff.
  8. I haven't previously found their tracks to be the best on compilations (like Apsara), but a full release obviously gives much more freedom, and this does indeed sound interesting, particularly the more psychedelic tracks.
  9. I have listened to this a lot recently, and found it very very good. My experience with dark is limited, but this definitely among the best I've heard from the dark style. There are some pretty funky basslines here, and overall funky sound structures which I enjoy a lot. The tracks with more traditional dark basslines and higher BPM I find somewhat weaker, but that may because dark generally has a tendency to annoy me. Track #9 is my favourite of the bunch, its bloody good, distinctly reminding of deep psy like Hux Flux - Cryptic Crunch and even Double Dragon - Continuum, if you can imagine that sound in a modern setting. Also #4 and #1 are great in the same vein. High marks from me, overall.
  10. Same here, only track I continuously come back for on this comp.
  11. I found this good but not excellent. About half the tracks feel a bit uninteresting to me, but others like Londinium Chills, Slow Roast and Molasses are very good, and indeed fresh sounding. Organic and Chunky Soup are also nice, but together don't create a unity that I feel very appealing. Nevertheless, it is an album worthy of your attention, I feel my own opinion being particularly subjective with this one.
  12. Very good album, sounds much older than it is. In fact, its the oldest sounding album in my collection, older than early Eat Static, Indoor etc. First time I heard this I thought it was ripped off of an old tape from the 80's. Very good though, its goodness is only surpassed by how old it sounds. I think I've made my point now.
  13. Well he always has a lady or two on his avatar, so I thought I was safe.
  14. First album was great. I remember psyreviews giving it 10/10 (altough some have questioned the reviewer's sense at this time).
  15. I guess the relation between regular human growth and IM's musical development is inverse. Their melodies have gone from quite mature to themes for cartoons.
  16. Have listened to this a lot recently, very charming. Others have called it darkish progressive, but its not particularly dark however.
  17. I much prefer the spiritualistic flavour which one part of dark has, over these kinds of childish horror themes.
  18. Thomas Fehlmann, love Thomas Fehlmann, although Thomas Fehlmann lies closer to tech-house, at least "Visions Of Blah" and "Honigpumpe". Long live Thomas Fehlmann!
  19. Hedonix Onionbrain Sounds much like slowed down dark.
  20. Yes you can, if the slices are thick enough.
  21. I think this would have been good if it didn't have any lyrics in it.
