Absolutely can't stand the samples in Durka Durka, the fart sounds in particular get old very fast. Great album though.

My pick puts everything here to shame: The Orb - Plateau Its true, for sure.

If you are referring to the main lead, isn't that a sample of a woman singing?

Ambient music with creative & interesting pads

Absolutely lovely stuff, keep an eye out for his second psybient release as well. -
This is addictive stuff, not as dark and gothic as his debut, but more melodious and, at least I would say, more emotional. I dont think these are good things in the long run, comparing a fast sugar fix with a wholesome meal of pasta, yet I cannot help feeling impressed with his control of melodies and the sheer quality of his sound. It will be interesting to see if the cheesiness will be tolerated, and how the album sustains through time.

Holy shizzle, Jon. You look completely insane on that picture.

Solid State is a classic and one of my favourite albums. Solar Fields - EarthShine sounds a lot like it, but Solid State has a cooler and more subtle sound, which I appreciate much more.

Percussion and drums

Either way I guess, whatever is good. -
Im looking for VSTi, or even better, standalone applications solely for creating drumloops and complex percussion patters, stuff like that. Tried Battery, but unless I failed, you cant program the actual loops in it, but rather you do that in your shell program (I use FL). Any recommendations?

I am looking for a particular kind of psy, although not a particular subgenré of it. I am looking for music filled to the brim with ideas, sounds and turnarounds, so complex that it takes you weeks to fully understand it. Granted, this has to be done well, but also, I would request for it to not be darkpsy. A lot of darkpsy is satisfy my conditions (take Furious - Uncanny Beats for example), but it almost necessarily lacks the interaction of melodies which I find very satisfying. Also, I find it a bit depressing. Here are some examples of what I am looking for: Double Dragon - Continuum Tron - Existence I wish I had more.. And to some extent: Torakka - Far Out Express Haltya - Forest Flavour Maybe early Eat Static as well I guess Filteria, although its more heavily layered than complex A lot of finnish stuff have these qualities, but they are often accompanied by a ridiculous flavor, which can get annoying after a while. Waiting curiously.

Psygone - A Second Breath

So, is this a goa or full on release? -
After very careful considerations, my pick is Eat Static - Abduction An album with a powerful ability to vividly depict wonderful and strange realities, which can bring tears (without sadness or melancholy) to someone who holds the invariable existence in little regard.

What music are you listening to right now?

OOOD - Fourthought Oishii desu yo! -
Ah yes, long drones, nothing more exciting than long drones.

Secede - Kingdom Of Hearts Asura - Fahrenheit These are blatantly sad and can probably bring tears to anyone. Some more sadness: Bluetech Many tracks. The Orb - A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From the Centre of the Ultraworld I love this track, particularly the female sample voice I find very saddening. The Muses Rapt - The Return Of The Travellers This one is impressively emotional. Trentemøller - The Last Resort CD 1 Particularly midway in. Indica - Fairy Tale, Fly Me Over the Rainbow and Tomorrow May Never Come To me this brings the cheesy kind of sadness felt, for example, when viewing a puppy or a kitten i distress. I like it nevertheless, *twirl*. Kettel - I Live You This guy is great, all his albums are enjoyable, but I find his Re: Through Friendly Waters to be the most sophisticated.

Bigwigs - The National Heroes Of Sonic Parallel D Nox & Beckers - Left Behind Krumelur - Minimal Animal Ticon - Rewind

No problem, now about that blowjob...
-
Excellent full on; on the darker side of the genré, with great atmospheres, suggestive melodies and some good sample use. Track 7, People On Hold is my favourite of the bunch, it has a classic feel over it.

This man mentions things of value.

10$ to anyone who can sit still through an entire listen of Navigate.

Filteria - Navigate never fails to power-infuse a boring evening.

Satumnaisuus - Kaleidoskopedelia Well beyond every other chill release I've heard this year, and I've heard most of the listed. Shame most won't discover this, since the stubborn finns don't realize the weight of the english language. Anyway, you can download the album here.

It appears to be from the movie Adaptation, spoken by Nicolas Cage.
