  1. Well the movie sub-forum is a lot more popular it seems but I struggle to think of many movies I have seen that are better than the book. I love descriptions that I can interpret in my own head, creat my own faces, places and expressions. Seeing someone else's image of the descriptions usually leaves me cold. Don't get me wrong, I love movies, they are much easier to digest and take much less time but I don't get so involved. When I read I often think deeply about the story & as it takes me much longer to read I think about it for longer (hence more deeply I guess) so I feel more involved. the only movie I can think that I preferred to the book was American Psycho just because I don't want such detailed descriptions of Phil Collins obviously I am not counting the kind of books that were written with a movie in mind. I saw at the bookshop the other day "Terminator Salvation" which I can guess is not a rivetting read. So what do you guys think? Is anyone here?
  2. I keep buying new books then re-reading my old ones before I get to them
  3. H.G. Wells - The Invisible Man woohoo! 100th post in this forum! This place is kicking
  4. VA - Wider Horizons (LSD)
  5. I'd second Principles of Flight - Chaos Opera easily the best of the year so far in my book! Listened to it 30 times in a row and then gave it a break and it was still great! Good sign
  6. Michael Jackson - Billie Jean (Minilogue Remix)
  7. Nekton Falls
  8. Are you a smart new bot or a totally fucked up coked up human? Your posts seem to have something to do with the topic title but nothing to do with the topic? Kick Bong - Cup of Tea you must be a bot right?
  9. At the moment I am reading 20世紀の少年 (20th century boys)
  10. Great! It does seem a wee bit quicker
  11. Hell yeah! Even if you hate SWM then you will still probably love this ace, mental, craxy track
  12. A nice review but it really would be nice if you started a thread with the album cover and album stats; album cover name etc!
  13. I always thought of it as Psytrance with broke the mold and experimented with more crazy sounds. Probably it evolved in to the Suomi style. Always thought of Matsuri Productions & Psy Harmonics to be quite experimental
  14. I had a look the other day but the few things I am actually missing, they are also missing
  15. Nunc Stans - The Palm At The End Of The Mind Just bought the book named after the poem that this track was written about. A book of collected poems by Wallace Stevens. A very nice bleak atmosphere to both
  16. Some books just beg to be re-read though I am reading Haruki Murakami - After Dark at the moment and I really feel like I will read it again. The atmosphere when reading it is brilliant
  17. Kettel - Myam James 2 :posford:
  18. How is the new slum? Are the tracks a feast of Engrish?
  19. Green Nuns of The Revolution! I sweated seratonin out of my eyeballs when i first heard rock bitch mafia Technossomy Never heard such great synth work and then nothing The Infinity Project No ambient follow up to Mystical Experiences Secede Well I know there were two albums but the insanely good Tryshasla has been 4 years without a follow up (mini albums don't count)
  20. Crop Circles - Tetrahedron :clapping:
  21. Yeah, this is a definite grower but one thing I have learned with ultimae over the last few years (knowing they often grow) is not to force them. This I will leave for a while and come back to it in a more reflective mood.
  22. Much love going out to Jikkenteki. The Long Walk Home & Flights of Infinity still rate among my favourite albums. It is sad of course to see such a talented musician (with taste so in line with my own) stop making music but you have to go the way life takes you. This is not a scene where music can be your whole life and it might sound like a cliche but sometimes life catches up with you. You no longer have the passion that initially drove you or things happen that dampen your spirit for it. All I can say Rennis is good luck in your life away from the Psy scene. You will be missed. Wishing you all the best
  23. This was a tough one. If we were talking on trance here then I would have gone for Slinky Wizard straight away but TIP gave us the beautiful Mystical Experiences (I noticed has been re-released on Avatar BTW) which is one of my favourite albums EVER !!!!
  24. I have just started it so I can't comment on the whole but it is so far so good. It has Murakami's detailed descriptions of the mundane that just seems to make everything sparkle and 2 chapters in, something really odd is happening
