  1. Thanks guys... I think it's just about waiting. It looks to be appearing on "regular" amazons - A
  2. Damn, that is so good to hear! I am working on the Konnekt series, and lately we have had sooo much bad publicity. The following is the reason why, and the reason why you should think hard about getting one (yes, I am loyal to TC, but if people have bad experiences with our products, it hurts us just as bad...) - The drivers have been less than perfect. I can't give you any official explainations as to why, but they are much much better now than only a couple of months back. - There are PCs out there (macs are fine) that have a chipset that is unsuited for audio over firewire in the format the Konnekts (and other interfaces...) use. - People are unsure about the features of the Konnekts, and think they are not working when, in fact, they are using them wrong. That being said, the Konnekts are really cool I/O interfaces. They have excellent converters and pre-amps, and a feature set that is quite impressive considering the price. The Konnekt8 aside, the DSP processing is a great tool, and a very cheap way of acquiring high-end quality plugs (reverb and compresser/de-esser/EQ) - I use the reverb *quite* a lot, and it puts Logics platinum reverb to shame -A
  3. This new album... How do I get it? Neither Psyshop, saikosounds nor Reactorleak offers any pointers... - A
  4. Indeed, and he did compile one of the discs in the first "Voyage into trance" which is very good... I have also heard some interesting remixes from John OO, so... Well - I don't really have anything to say... -A
  5. Yeah, I love when that happens too... I like to wake up from this flow-experience, where time ceases to exist, and I don't think of anything in terms of "I". It is as if my self is also not present. Then to wake up, and find my self freezing, hungry as hell, and *really* having to go to the loo. Good good double good - Andreas
  6. Yeah, I seem to remember Steve is mentioned in pretty much all of the sleeves as co-composing here and there... Check it out Now I am grateful for the two shows I have had with Eat Static. They were both spectacular. One more than the other. It was waay back, when Science of the Gods was new, and then again with Crash and Burn. Man they took the audience by complete surprise with Crash and Burn. What a show!! Incidently, the Science of the Gods tour was my very first techno event, so it was quite the "trial by fire" experience. Awesome. - A
  7. When writing music, I am mostly into groove and bass arrangement. All the on-top stuff is getting more and more difficult for me. I think this is because I am getting better at listening, and therefore more critical of my own work. On rare occasions I get a good idea though, and hit a certain vibe or atmosphere, that brings certain associations when listening. At this point I go from working title of the track to the actual title - and the rest of the track kind of writes itself... Another thing is, that I am on the verge of getting into Dubstep. It is a completely different genre, but with ideas spilling over from Psytrance. I think it is a good and constructive challenge to do stuff different from Psytrance once in a while, and I think the spillover will eventually go both ways. I hope -A
  8. Well, I can only recommend getting it directly from Samplemagic: http://www.samplemagic.com/ It took three attempts to make the silly dansih postal service get it through, but all contact with Samplemagic (again, big-up Dave!) has been a breeze. So get it there - A
  9. So I finally got it. I have very mixed feelings about writing this review... As a sample CD it is a tool for creating music, and the less people who has this, the more "original" my use of it will seem. I know that's whack since I didn't make it in the first place but... you know That being said, I have to say it's really good. Very good. Incredibly good. There are sounds I recognize from pretty much all Eat Statics different styles - the old rubbery and shiny analog stuff from "Implant" and "Abduction", some of the spookier "Science Of The Gods" stuff (best album ever!), some phunky jazzy/swingy latino-like percussion sauce from "Crash and Burn" and "In the Nude" - and some supa-futuclysmic 'scapes out of "Declassified". As an Eat Static related disc, it has pretty much all of it. Quoting Merv from the inner sleeve: "... the aim of delivering something special that would not only satisfy the hungriest producer, but would aldo stir the imagination to discover new avenues of sound.". I am going to have to disagree a little with the first statement. A hungry producer can always eat more (static), and I had hoped for a bit more singleshot drums and perc. The ones that are there are good, no doubt - but still. The second statement is spot on, though. Listening to the loops, pads and soundscapes instantly magnifies my wish that I had more time to make music. Not only do they inspire pieces of music around them, they also give a lot of hints to new ways of thinking and creating sound from scratch. That's it I guess - oh, just one more turn off: the pads are not multisampled, so they are hard to tune correctly without mangling them... All in all an extremely good sample CD, that I will enjoy for a long time. And yes, I *will* hate hearing its' sounds in released material, except in my own. Well, and Eat Static's - A
  10. No worries - yours is still more "authentic" than the new pressings So far I only have to different versions of "Forever After". The flimsy Box Bunny release, and a US Harthouse... I am still on the the lookout for the original german Harthouse edition - A
  11. I bought it. I actually pre-ordered it, but because of the immensely crappy service by the danish postal watchamacallits, I haven't received it yet. One thing should be said though. The samplemagic crew (thanks Dave!), is bending over backwards to make it come through. I will post a review when it finally comes Good or not, I am impressed by samplemagic's service and patience! - A
  12. Cool, I have been taking notes now, so I should at least have some options. Thanks guys, I'll buy you a beer (or a hit of your favourite drug of choice) if you ever find yourself in Ã…rhus, Denmark Towelie - how was it? - A
  13. Here's your break: http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/ - A
  14. Good choice I have that one, and it is really good! Just thought I would mention it... Not much help though. - A
  15. Whoever bought them: Congrats - you will be happy with 'em - A
  16. Sorry to hear that Jikky. I can only think of saying, that I am proud to have participated in your ventures. It's rare to find people genuinly in it for the fun of it, such as it is my impression of you - and that's maybe why things are hard to keep floating. Too bad - but hopefully just for now. I sincerely hope you will be able to pick up the reins again later on, if that's what you want. Honestly, if more people out there ran their labels by the same philosophy, I think we would have a lot of better music, and a lot less worse music. Genres would be less distinct, and diversity more abundant. Thanks for trying this time around J! - A
  17. Yep... He's a cool dude (or hot chick if you will). Incidently, you can easily hook up any USB two-button mouse if you want. It will save you the trouble of using ctrl-click -A
  18. It doesn't actually need to. Since Mac made the switch to x86 architecture, you can run your windows programs directly and pseudo-natively in Mac OS X. I have even seen benchmarks, declaring macintosh computers faster than equivalent PCs running bootcamp - so sindows is actually faster on a mac than on a PC. Not that I understand why anyone would want to run windows on a mac though... Okayokay in all fairness - I have also seen benchmarks that say the opposite Right you are! Couldn't agree more. Still, there are people who don't want to pay for the good stuff, and rely on free dodgy plugins. These are the dudes PCs are made for, and they have to have the hassle of upkeep. Yup, I am obviously trying to piss someone off now - don't be *really* offended -A
  19. I know this - I believe I wrote it too. My point is, that I don't want to keep anything clean. My mac requires *no* effort in this regard. In the three years you have had that PC, did you ever reinstall from scratch? Please be honest I don't know how to keep a PC clean. I don't want to either. With mac, it is simply not necessary. Obviously - well, there is just one thing to add. Mac is based on a much more secure system as it is. Everything being equal, it is harder to write a virus for a mac (except for the dot-oh major versions...) than it is for PC. Hmmm. I have written this soo many times, I just don't bother anymore. Everytime I go "maybe this time, they'll see the err of their ways"... nope. Oh well, if Microsoft keeps churning out worse and worse products (and years behind schedule too), and Apple better and better, matters will resolve themselves -A
  20. As in Vince Clark right? It shows. I think this is really something. Something good too Thank you for putting a nice, smooth, round period to a cozy weekend. Just what I needed! Cheers! - A
  21. I switched to mac back in 2001 and it was the single most sensible decision I ever made. I recently got a MacBook Pro which is the most sexy technology one can find. Yes, I buy mac to be able to use logic, but also for the stability, reliability, ease of use, and paowarh! - I've heard a lot of "My PC never crashes". For me, every time I sit at a PC, it crashes, destroys my data, locks up for indefinete periods of time, deny me to do what I want, due to virus paranoia, spyware, and all that sort. I do realize, that part of the reason PCs act up on me, is because I use them "wrong". - I can't figure out how to use a PC. I believe I think so, because I'm used to never thinking "what happened?!? How the f.... do I...". I use a PC at work for developing, but that's it. I am sooo fed up with it. - A mac is faster, because when the operating system is programmed, it actually involves people *thinking*. It is my strong belief that Windows is made by programmers, not computer scientists. I seriously disagree, when people say I trade options for accesibility. Case in point: A really cool thing about my new mac is that I can program AudioUnits so incredibly easy. I have an idea - one hour later, I have a plugin up and running. That leaves me with endless posibilities, that I wouldn't dream of trying to achieve on a PC. It's just not worth it, when it is so easy on mac. No trade off there. Sure, I can't use some other bedroom-programmer's flimsy plugins. No bigie. When it comes to tweaking the machine... Yes, the PC enthusiasts are right, I don't have many options in this area. It doesn't bother me though, because I never ever saw the need to tweak anything. Well, this turned out a bit more PC bashing than I expected. Sorry about that - I really think it comes down to finding the computer that fits *you*. A mac fits me, and PCs don't. If you call mac a "woman's computer", fine. In general I trust women a lot more than the next guy - A
  22. If you go analog all the way, this is true. But since mixing is now done digitally, you don't ruin anything by recording stereo - asuming your system is sample-accurate within channels. If it isn't, you may get some cancelation artifacts when recording a mono sound in stereo. Exactly! If you have, say, detuned oscilators panned differently in the same sound, recording this mono doesn't make any sense. You loose the nice broad effect, and get cancelations and what not. Unless there is something I have overlooked, and if your system is sample accurate - record in stereo -A
  23. What is "Suomi" exactly? Other than that, I don't really attach labels for the genres so much. I don't care much for the "random weird noises plastered over a too monotonous beat" that I think this DarkPsy label covers... Everything else pushes my buttons, if it is well done and original. -A
  24. Well, I don't expect much party-/psy-wise. I'll just see what happens, and go with the flow. It's actually more of a beach vacation. I will be absolutely sure to do neither... Sorry to hear about your friends! Thanks for the goodies. I am staying Anjuna-adjacent, and had a feeling that Vagator was a possibility - Nine bar it is and then onwards Thanks a lot! I have hotel reservations so that should be allright. I don't plan to do any kind of drugs, so that should be no problem either. Looking forward to the vibe. I don't know what that's supposed to mean. - A
  25. Hi everybody. January 23. I am packing my bags and going to Goa. It will only be for a week, so I need to condence all the experiences I can into that little time. I have taken a look at the travel forum, but found nothing of interest... Anywho, what do I absolutely *need* to see? I am staying in a hotel about 2 km from Anjuna beach, so I will be pretty much "in the mix". Where do I find the best "drop-in" parties and events, what attractions do I need to see, and what should I think about when I am there? Any tip is greatly appreciated - thanks in advance! - A
