  1. i dunno what's going on but this is 180 for vertigo, really interesting tracklist right...
  2. Compilation: Magical Journey 2 Label: Ajana Records Web: www.ajana-records.com CAT: AJACD005 SE.net: http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/250/2/ 01. Electrypnose vs Ecalypt - Nabuconodosor 02. Olien - Ozeanic 03. Chronos - Sky Path 04. Unstable Elements - Technical Illusions 05. Atriohm - Beyond Rituals 06. Capsula - Dice Man 07. Procs - Fascinating Superhero 08. Psyfactor - Galileo Space Mission 09. Zoe Wheelingz - Shadow Is Back The second installment of A Magical Journey is eclecticism in a mini-skirt, from the Ajana family a sub from Trishula. I didn’t have the pleasure of vegetating to the first installment, but good things were said… bad things were also uttered, but if anything, it seemed like something different from the usual down-beat sphere. ( 1 ) Electrypnose breaks the ice with Ecalypt in a symbiosis of styles and mystery, clouded with piano lines, electro-dub pace changes and didgeridoos tussling in a successful ‘fusion reaction’ as Le Barde might put it. Was it not for the quality of the artists, it would have sunk in delusions of grandeur tying all those themes together. Fortunately, Nabuconodosor sails through the turmoil the right direction. * ( 2 ) Oliver Bach, better known as Olien (possibly a long lost relative of the infamous composer), Debuts his softer alter-ego. A lot of delayed chants and good atmospherics progressing somewhere in this Ozeanic sea of calmed turmoil, without forgetting the theme of ‘magical journey’ for a second. Besides being well honed, the beat might sound like night time material with reduced speeds. ( 3 ) Chronos is yet another new dig from the Ajana/Trishula radar and apparently a full length album of chilled out goodness is on its way. For the teaser, Sky Path ascends calmly to an eventual climax of sentient synths from the emotional era, that should bother me with its unabashed attempt at poignant, cheerful trance… but it doesn’t. Yeah, it might be a bit on the cheesy side, swiveling to a near cliché for some purists, but the delivery is well orchestrated and I don’t find myself bothered by it. * ( 4 ) Unstable Elements bring us back to base line with a noticeable shift in mood, descending to aphotic sides of down tempo. The arpeggio coming in by the end, sheds a little light to this dusk-time effort. From the milieu of effects certain redeeming elements – and not necessarily unstable- break forth as Technical Illusions. ( 5 ) The Atriohm brothers from Macedonia seemed to be stirring a ruckus lately with chill proposals and upbeat material. Their offering here takes prides on being downbeat, with an extra doze of balls and obscurity for hardened chai lounges. There is Hindi/far eastern thing going on with synthetic leads & tribal breaks. I don’t know if it’s Beyond Rituals, but it certainly feels like one. Take it as a compliment. * ( 6 ) Capsula, delights with his most enjoyable piece yet for my taste. This is the progression I had been expecting since his debut last year. Maturity, lounge vibes and ear candy all throughout, marking the Dice Man as you’re classier than average track. It’s soaked with that assertiveness of urban existentialism, and not necessarily the over aching psychedelic dub slap we might have grown accustomed to, while retaining his roots. * ( 7 ) Procs surprises in Fascinating Superhero with his first down-tempo attempt to my knowledge, looking not to stray too far from his playful, melodic knack. Think of it as a really long break inside in of his typical tracks, interesting deviation. * ( 8 ) Galileo Space Mission sounds like bonus track from Psyfactor’s chill repertoire that for x or y reason did not fit in the CD, so they threw in here. Fast beats, assertive synth sound action in its own simple demeanor. Nothing ground breaking once again, lots of emotional content and not much else. ( 9 ) Zoe Wheelings closes the journey with a beak beat slice of retro-sketched beats in the experimental side of things. The Shadow is back remains mildly interesting and nearly lounge-esque by the end with phasing lines, but the beginning of the shindig nearly kills my interest. The merit is simply the kind of music is trying to convey which I don’t you but I don’t hear too often. Magical Journey is a Byzantine ride through nine rabbit holes interconnected loosely by what ifs and their own personal spice of down-tempo. An achievement in itself if only for the ideas presented herein. Some will draw attention more easily than others in their own paroxysmal micro-verse of cozy vibes, while others might need to travel bit further before we can declare them anything else than over intuitive. A few tracks are simply slowed down versions of what is normal night-time music, while some have dared to go beyond. You could do worse than hear some of these, coming to grips with the fact some people chill out differently than others. 5. because i didn't upload the file Bad Sector did. and for some reason when i linked the file and i tried to download it the server would give me an error so i renamed it to .zip. not how i would have liked to do things, but instead of having to wait an extra 5 hours to download it, re-encode to zip and upload it again (cause i have a slow conection) i went with the rename solution... ---- anyway, the download is .ZIP now from another server, so in the meantime all you need to do now is download and un-ZIP... sorry about the problems.. ----
  6. well i'm sorry, there was instructions in RED CAPS LOCK LETTERS and i think you were the first person to miss them... i had to rename it, which sucks cause the server fucked up... kaptisch?? it's a free service mate, so take it as it is, thanks
  7. *sigh* please read this before asking anymore questions... IF YOU GET A .ZIP FILE how you ask? If you download a .RAR file, you don't need to anything. keep checking the link cause i keep switching places to download it thanks
  8. well could be problems with the server man... but the file is complete... you have to take into account it's a small virtual server and it's already been pounded with over 70 gigs of downloads today... as for the other problems could you explain a bit better i'm not sure i understood there was only four tracks? - edit, i switched servers... all you need to do for the moment is download and unrar... hope you can get this time
  9. i just tested both sources and they have the right size - 312,879,621 bytes it might be your download... i hope... - if anybody else had trouble, pls post it here...

  11. i honestly don't know how they call both things the same. I know they are both forest, but they sound really different to me. The difference? is clear your feeble little brain is not prepared to be savagely abused otto... maybe some day
  12. dig deeper and ye shall find <<<< clicky >>>> that's from v/a - play way. here's another clicky >>> that's from v/a - Gnothi Seauton both very atmospheric and melodic in my opinion, are they dark? ehmm... if you want to compare with some things yah, you compare you other, no, but they do make more sense than your average 'random noise'
  13. if i'm not mistaken they act as retailers inside amazon too, i might have bought headphones from there... me thinks it should be safe...

    Mindshare (MoE)

Compilation: MINDSHARE Label: Mistress of Evil Web: www.mistressofevil.com/ CAT: MOE66603 SE: http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/239/2/ 01 - The Fractal Saddhus - Pigletts Go Whuooomp 02 - Ocelot - Badabum 03 - Quasar - Wake Up Yer Ass 04 - Alien Mental - Itchin N'Glitchin 05 - Darkbabba - Nonlinear Mallard Syndrome 06 - MWS - Stinger 07 - Xylamanda - [Not] Krazy 08 - Ghreg On Earth - aNgeLIKsHdwLnD What's This About Mindshare in the contextual meaning implies pooling thoughts and states of mind for a given purpose. Likewise, it is also the name given to a number of events that occur[ed ?] in the northern California region organized by the Mistress of Evil crew, alongside the artists presented here. As it can be expected there is a fair share of straightforward darkness, a lot of fractalized stories and a music video directed by my tocayo Egnagora from Shaman Films. Per Track The ride opens with the Fractal Saddhus, an ensemble of Alien Mental, Dylalien and Quasar. The piglets are as twisted as it could be fathomed, only to twist it a little bit more. In this realm 2 plus 2 does not equal 4, it equals… whatever you want it to equal. With this approach, the only thing that resonates with me is the line stretching in and twitching for the theme. A third eye is required here. Ocelot invites you to kick your shoes in a “Badabum” of discordant riffs, morphing and pitching for the entire duration of the track. It slows down a bit in patches but it does not stop. As usual if you need to get a rush before tearing things apart, Aaron’s the man for the job. “So, thanks for inviting me to your little alcoholic drug den here tonight, you fine upstanding citizens you ‘wink, wink’… ‘nudge, nudge’ now…” Quasar gets his groove back doing what he does best, fucked up music for messed up people. Very innovative rhythmic collection, on top of distraught synth’s dancing around the beat for our fellow aliens in the 9th moon of Saturn. Darkabba is Mubali, Xylamanda, and Dylaien in a remix by the Xyla girls once again. The “Nonlinear Mallard Syndrome” feels like it has been processed, reprocessed, altered, inverted, passed through more filters and then remixed again. The beat goes totally metallic-mechanic and then wobbly, only to end up with… Donald Duck getting seriously pissed off. Alien Mental does a 180 in “Inchin’ n glithin’’” from his latest appearance on Manic Dragon Records earlier this year with “Take a Break”. Reminds a lot of the Noise Poison sound (Highko & Cosmo) with a fast beats and glitchy stuff edging out by every pore. Technically is another side of the production style for Lalith and that’s always nifty. MWS the Austrian duo of DJ’s make another appearance. “Stinger” on itself stands well, but the resemblance with “Hexenhammer” might be too much to let it pass. And on that note I liked that one a little more. Amanda & Miranda, as the Xylamanda girls scream from the top of their lungs they are “[Not] Crazy”, using a heart aching kick with a potpourri of dark situational effects. Trippy, fast and juicy this is all fine and dandy without the aid of overt musical resources. When you hear that rusty riff again, head-bang for me baby one more time. The video included in the CD aids the purpose immensely, shining a beacon over all those little effects in a visual climax. The bottom line, you might need to bring Egnagora back for the next round. “aNgeLiKsHdwLnD” is Ghreg on Earth at the top of his game. His take on industrial metal using psychedelic electronics, is where dark is at right now. Without playing favorites, this guy feels to my ears on a different league altogether here. It’s noisy, involving, dark, restrained and somehow so fucking purposeful you just don’t see it coming. Much like those droning voices piercing tiny holes of light, in a vast post-mad-max wasteland where only his mind resides. Fear teh Ghreg. All in All This my first dip in a MoE compilation and so far so good. It is highly representative of what the West Coast is doing in the States, and things are looking good from where I’m standing. To my ears, there is a different sound evolving from the global dark sphere. Some sounds are more developed than others, and some might resonate differently for other people. A little direction in certain chapters would have been nice, without overlooking the fact Mindshare gets the message across.
