  2. My classic release of the day: Terra Ferma - Turtle Crossing (Platipus)
  3. Finally, after delay and delay, and after my recordstore of choice getting it a week after the online shops, I hold in my hand and have thoroughly listened to on an endless loop the newest release from my most favoritest of labels,Iboga CD 30, Antix - Twin Coast Discovery. As far as I can remember back, this has been on of the musically most fulfilling week of my life. First Midi Miliz - NonStandards, and now this. What have I done to deserve such aural pleasures, I dont know, but I must have been a very nice boy I getting offtrack, so here"s the tracklist: 1 FreQ - Return to the masters (Antix rmx) 2 The inkling 3 Forever changing 4 Cold nights 5 Little honey 6 Le lascard 7 Quiet is the new loud 8 Hiding place After 2003's release Lull that was widely acclaimed as one of the best progressive releases of all time, some say even the best, Antix left some very large footsteps for themselves to fill. For me personally, Lull has been the record that I played when I didnt know what else to play, the Status Quo so to speak. One masterpiece after the other, each track on Lull stood out with careless ease and sheer musical brilliance. Because Antix's style is so dependant on subtleties and little details, it is very easy to fall into a meaningless drivel, as many acts who tried to follow Antix has proven. But Im happy to report that Antic have taken things a step further, TCD is a lot "fuller"than its predecessor, meaning more sounds and lush harmonies, the incorporation of vocals on some tracks, and, most importantly, on the majority of tracks they go away from the typical pumping progressive bassline and use instead basslines that could be described "Infusion Light". To sum it up, even though Antix new sound is a lot more melodic, it has developed away from the typical prog. psy scene and will find many avid followers in the crossover crowd. Regardless of what category this record falls into and changes in style, the red line that connects TCD with Lull is the feeling Antix produce in the listener. It is a feeling of of lighthearted carefree joy, a feeling of just living the day as it is, "joie de vivre", so to speak, and exactly that makes Antix the fallback record to listen to at home in all situations. To sum it up in a few words, its just fun to listen to, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. Now I will elaborate a bit more on each individual track: 1. Return to the Masters: a remix to a Freq song, I dont know why its on here actually because its already released on a comp. Also it is quite a disppointment by Antix standards, the original is better, methinks. 2. The Inkling: This track is the one that sounds most like Lull, but it is a real groover. Lush warm atmospheres, a long build up without a bassline, then a break and then: VOOOOOMMM! Such a smooth grooving takeoff, no one does it like Antix. It would have been the perfect start to the album, it shows you right away what Antix is all about. A song that makes you wanna stomp all the grass away from the floor! Cool!!!! 3. Forever Changing: Here we are introduced to the ""Infusion light" bassline I was talking about, but not in full effect. Some qurky riffs thrown on top, plus lush soundscapes and a nice groove make for a nice tack, but definitle not the highlight of this CD. 4.Cold Nights: The most ethereal piece on this album, it takes you to a really deep place. The kind of music where you stare against the wall for 8 minutes and dont even notice. Hypnotic soundscapes composed of chopped up and repeated female voice samples, long pads, "Ïnfusion Light" bassline, its like one warm comfortable velvet cushion. When the cello comes sneaking in at the end, it makes you just wanna float in the air like a hot air baloon and look down at the world below you. 5. Little Honey: To use one word, this song is intense. But not in the common sense of the word as in 150 bpm blow your head up style. So many smooth, long, drawn out sounds are layered on top of each other with such skill and precision. But unlike Cold Nights, this bad boy makes just wanna get up and dance. This is trance in its purest form, a instantly recognizable string melody keeps creeping up, putting the crown on an already magnificient track. Again, chopped up voice samples are used with great skill to create a hypnotic dream-like effect. WoW!!! 6. Le Lascard: Almost epic in one way, yet very subtle in another. All the energy comes from the "travelling" basslines that morphs into a hymn-like melody evey now and then and the distorted male vocal sample, the rest of the track is actually very laidback with tweedly sounds floating and a pretty slow speed. All the dynamic in this track comes from that disparity, at one moment you find youself grooving along nicely, then all of a sudden you wanna get up and scream. An amazing, outstanding track, right now my favorite from this album. Pure MDMA material. 7. Quiet is the new Loud: Apart from having the coolest trackname I have heard in a while, this track actually does its name justice. With a slow gentle groove that reminds a lot of Lull, this track goes very deep. There is not much happening really, except all those little details that make Antix the standout act that they are. There is not much else I can say about it, except that it is pure Antix. And that should be enough. 8. Hiding Place: I can already hear people bitching about Hiding Place, because it uses a sample that is not unlike something Tiesto and friends would spin. But listen closely, and will find Antix use it so tastefully, it becomes part of the fabric of the track. There is an innocent, naive and playful vibe about this track that wont let you get mad at them for being so cheesy. The groove is so effortless and driving, the sounds tweedle around your head so gentle, it wont be long and you wanna know that girls phone number. Very well done! To sum it up, a more than worthy follow up to Lull. Some tracks have almost symphonic character, everything fits so well in its place and everything sounds so effortless and easy. But like mentioned above, theres a lot more going on and the almost minimal character of Lull is mostly gone. But just like Lull, its music to listen to on every occasion, in the car, on the subway, on the couch, in short, its a universal weapon. I find it hard to admit, but its almost as good as Atmos "2nd Brigade" last year. If you liked Antix's first album, or if you like good music, get it, you wont be disappointed.
  4. Here goes my extensive and elaborate review. I dont have the full japanese version with that extra track, but I took the liberty to download it since I paid for the CD anyway. So heres the tracklist : 1. Dos Canones 2. 10.000 Watts 3. Trace Function 4. The Invisible Witness 5. Feet In The Air 6. Trebel Rebel 7. Speaker Sneaker 8. Nick Jacholson 9. Supersymmetry 10. X-Dream - Psychomachine (Midimiliz Punked Remix) 11. Exclusion (sponsored by DC++) First of all I have to say that this is the fastest and darkest piece of music I have purchased in quite some time, because Im more into the housey progressive thing these days. Yet Midi Miliz has always stood for 100% quality, a fact proven by their last 2002 album Passages that I didnt get right away when it was released, but that i picked up a year later after listening to it at a friends house. After that it has become one of the most played records on my Ipod, especially the delicious ending track "Stars", a dreamy, touching voyage featuring non other than Louis Armstrong. So naturally i didnt hesitate one second to purchase the newest release "non-standards", especially with all the hype Midi Miliz has gotten. And I think on this occasion the hype is totally worth it. "Non-standards" is their best and most mature album to date, it proves that Midi Miliz are one of the most creative producers in our scene that really do think outside the box. Thats why it is really hard to put this release into categories, because distorted Tech-Trance like the Midi Miliz of old it is definitely not. There is not much distortion used at all, and if it is very subtle. The most outstanding characteristic would probably be the electro style analogue basslines, but this is definitely no electro either. On the first listens I was extremely intrigued and couldnt stop listening, but i wasnt quite sure if I liked it or not. I could not define it, I could not find a box that it would fit into, yet I kept on listening, I had to. Then while taking a nice walk around Vienna I finally realized what this music really is. It is not hard pounding techno/trance/electro music as I expected, even if all the monstrous analogue basslines and tough percussions would suggest otherwise. It is a delicate and ethereal voyage into a world full of colour and subtle nuances, a voyage into the soul of an electronic machine. The best way to describe what I mean is how I came to this realization. I was listening to "Non-Standards" with my Ipod set on Shuffle. First I listened to the tack "Feet in the air", a smooth groover with a rolling electro bassline and a sugar sweet repeating sample that says "Your feet in the air, your head on the ground, inside out, upside down". Like in "Stars" from the old album, Midi Miliz use a repeating sample to create a dreamy otherworldly atmosphere , very seldom have I heard a track that is so uplifting and touching without using any uplifting or dreamy sounds. That track opened up a whole new way to listen to this album, i took the sample by its word and I listened to the music "ïnside out, upside down". The rolling pounding bass isnt what it seems, it is a beautiful gentle organic matter that tells a story, its not just there to make you dance, there is much more to it. The percussion is the guide that carries you on your journey, like signs on the ground that point you in the right direction when you are lost between the walls of sound. The other sounds interweave with the bassline to form a sonic carpet that gently lifts you along, it doesnt hit you the head or tells you where to go, it is just there to support you. As luck would have it, the Shuffle on my Ipod took me to the remix of X-Dreams "Psychomachine". After my head had been turned "upside down, inside out" by "Feet in the air"already, this monster completely finished my brain off. The bassline, who I had realized was a living being on the track before, showed his most intense emotions and feelings with a heartwrenching, soulcrunching, braintransforming and utterly beautiful performance. At its most mean, pulsating and destructive, it revealed the most intense beauty and feeling. After that experience, everything else just fell into place. Its like I had discovered the key to a secret dungeon where the most beautiful treasures were hidden, unseen treasures that were waiting to be discovered. Take the first track "Dos canones"for example, so intense and deeply touching, gently pushing along further and further. If you listen to this track the first time you will probably find nothing gentle about, but listen to it "upside down, inside out", you will find out what I mean. 10000 Watts seems like a mean electrotechno track, but when the melody in the end soars it feels like a silver lining on the horizon, like everything shines and sparkles. "Supesymetry" and "Trebel Rebel" paint intense and clear soundscapes, both feature bleeping sounds that pulsate and vibrate as if they were alive. I dont wanna go into a real track-by-track description, these are just some examples of whats in store here. In my opinion "Feet in the Air"is the key to understanding and loving this release. If I had compiled "Non Standards", I would have put it in the beginning, because it points the listener in the right direction. Midi Miliz have taken a very bold step here, probably pissing off a lot of their hardcore customers, but they have gained so much more. These boys have shown pure musicality in places where you would least expect it. Non-Standard takes a lot of effort and dedication, granted, but Im sure I will be playing this years from now and it wont get old. So, do yourself a favor, buy it, play it and dont forget "Your feet in the Air, your head on the Ground, inside out, upside down"!!!
  5. That Astrix cover looks like the womans swimming in sperm dissolved in water, and about that Heino cover, thats the funniest shit Ive ever seen, btw. that man is actually a legend in germany....
  6. I saw an interview with Human Blue where he said that he knows he doesnt play real live, but he feels like a painter who presents his work at a gallery. He feels the same about his "live" show, he created the music with his mouse and now he comes to a place to present it to a bunch of people who came specifically to listen to his music. Its not live, but its a concept I can live with if I really wanna see that artist.
  7. yes, you'd really like it, its as good as the other plusquam compilations.
  8. Well, I have liked all Yahel albums so far, hes a great producer with a great sense for melody, but this album was just toooooo much. Usually he walked the fine line between cheese and and emotional trance, but this time he just went to far. I really tried to like around the world, because i8 have a soft spot for him, but no, too much is too much. BTW, i love old MWNN, listening to Vavoom right now BTW2: Have you listened to Lish-Free Fall, there are some really nice emotinal melodic tracks on there.
  9. 1. Men Lazer-SKI FI 2. Icecream-FREQ 3. Fake-SYMPHONIX VS MAGICAL 4. Electric problem-ECHOTEK 5. The Fly Flap-SHIVA CHANDRA 6. Funny fresh-FUSI AND JOHNSON 7. Jijou-SENSIFEEL 8. Killing feel-XIBALBA 9. Endless cycle -GAUDIUM This VA was compiled by Montagu&Golkonda, a very well known progpsy DJ duo and also Festival organizers (Tshitraka) from northern Germany. If you ever heard one of their sets, you know what to expect here, typical open air "oompa-oompa" trance with the offbeat baseline executed in all styles and variations. I wish I wouldnt have made the bold claim that israeli prog is lacking something compared to european prog. last week, because here Echotek disprove my point by providing the standout track. It reminds me a lot of theproggy tracks in Lishs new album, in other words expect a tough progressive grovve with lucious synths and tweaking. Areal blaster. I wish Echotek would make more of these tracks, because his recent album was way too fast for my taste. The fusi& Johnson track is also one of the better ones, at first it seems pretty standard stuff, but then after a few listens the synths and sounds grow on you and you really cant get it out of you head. Very well done. Like all Symphonix tracks the one here, Fake, is also a "slow grower", because like always the symphonix show they can create memorable effortless soundscapes with just a few sounds and samples. My only problem with their tracks is always the lower end, it seems they always use the same stomping oompa-oompa baselines, and those get boring really fast. Now their tracks are good, but with more finesse on the lower end they could be something very special. Another track that stands out is Xibalba-Killing Feel, a groving pumping track with a galopping beat and with a Kill Bill sample ("...I collect your fucking head") used to great effect. Pretty minmal compared to the other tracks here, but I can already picture the people stomping through the Dust this summer Xibalba has come with some great tracks lately, I saw them live a couple of weeks ago and they rocked, they have found their style and are a project to keep in mind. Some of The other tracks are good as well, Gaudium and Sensifeel are groovy trance with housey pads, something that is nothing new but well done. SkiFi and Freq are agressive and pumping, I like the SkiFi track better, its good, but Freq provides one of the weakest tracks I have heard from him. Somehow it just doesnt work, even though it still has the trademark Freq sound. The only real disappointment is Shiva Shandra, this guy appears to have lost his magic ever since Gecko. Subsonic and the auricular album "Time" were boring and didnt go nowwhere, all his tracks lately seem to be just audio trickery without a real flow o direction. Like in "The fly Flap", his baselines seem awkard and bump along, while a random assortment of sounds are added on top. Too bad, he used to be one of my favorite artists In conclusion, Amarasya is good, but it is not the reinvention of the wheel. 1 real great track (4), 3 very good ones (2,6,8), 1 bad track (5)and the rest is good. It s a great CD for homelistening, all the tracks are pleasant and they get better the more you listen to them. One major flaw however is that most these tracks have standard boring baselines. Umpa-Umpa all the way, a little more finesse on the lower end would make everything a lot more interesting. But if you like progressive morning psy get this CD because you"ll like it. If you are looking for innovation, look somewhere else.
  10. 1. V-Tunes - G-Con 2. Buzzmonx - All You Can Eat 3. Fusi & Jonson - Trouble Galaxy 4. Liquidsoul - Open Mind 5. Paste - Down On The Streets 6. Nyquist - Flatline 7. Ryan Halifax - The Beauty And The Beat 8. Varoman - Kickin And Drummin The new compilation from Plusquam records is out, and what a positive surprise it is. I have always been a fan of Plusquam ever since Laureth took it over, but lately their releases have been somewhat uninspired, not bad, but a clear pattern was beginning to emerge of a typical Plusquam sound. There are still hints of that present here, but it is a lot more varied and exciting. Maybe its because of the "Swiss Connection", there are I think 4 tracks from Switzerland here, I dont know. One thing that really turns me off however is the ugly ass cover. If I didnt know plusquam and just saw this sitting on the shelf somewhere, I sure as hell would not pick this one up. I mean its not even tacky-cool, like the inspirazzia cover for example, its just plain ugly. Its like a colourblind monkey used a drawing programm. Anyways, I digress, lets get to the tunes: 1. V-Tunes - G-Con: A very nice opener, typical Plusquam Style, with that I mean housey reverb trance for the mornings, but very well done with a cool little synth hook and nice overall atmosphere. Imagine sitting on the beach with a cool corona in your hand watching the ladies back sides wiggle by. Solid. 2. Buzzmonx - All You Can Eat: If this one would have been on the Buzzmonx album, it probably would have been the best track. As usual flawless production, but where on Toms and Jerrys the production was so flawless that it was almost dead, here it has a lot more bite. The typical housey reverb thing is done to outmost perfection, but there a quirky synths and hooks thrown to spice things up. Like all Buzzmonx tracks it gets better with time, this track is a real winner that you can listen to over and over again. Great!!! 3. Fusi & Jonson - Trouble Galaxy: This track reminds me a lot of old Bitmonx tracks, the galopping beat, the dark growling riffs, then throw on top of that some nice percussion and memorable sounds. A very good track, especially for those that are still waiting for that first Bitmonx album. 4. Liquidsoul - Open Mind: Progressive Party Morning trance is the word here, pretty fast and driving yet groovy with quirky synths, cool repeating samples and tribal percussion. I'm sure it works really well on the floor, but for home listening I dont like it too much, I dont know why. 5. Paste - Down On The Streets: The best track of the compilation, one of the best tracks in recent months for that matter. When Paste first started, their stuff was always too minimal and "oompa-oompa" for me. Their album, "Blowout" I think it was called was already a huge improvement, but everything they have released afterwards (which is not much, as far as I know)has been incredible, for example "Smash it" on another Plusquam comp. A unique, yet driving tough bassline that will really get you moving, twisted dark synths, a spoken sample placed at just the right time and haunting pads in the end make for a track that will rock any floor and that you will not forget. After hearing this track I cannot wait to hear more from them, they seem to have developed a very unique sound that I think has a big crossover appeal to the prog. house crowd as well. To quote the 17 year old Skazi afficianado who vomitted all over me last weekend: "KIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLAAAAARGGGGHHHHHHH!!" 6. Nyquist - Flatline: Freq in disguise, I wouldnt have noticed had I not read the production notes, but now that I do know I can hear his signature. Flatline is a good name here, because this track sounds kinda flat and dry, especially compared Freqs juicy other productions, but its still a great track. Long melodic pads are added to the dry beat, along with tribal percussion, not much else happening, but it doesnt have to, the track works really well and gets better with time but its a little short in my opinion. A lot more sublime than his productions as Freq. 7. Ryan Halifax - The Beauty And The Beat: It should have been called the beauty and the bassline, because it is the bassline that makes this track stand out. Its very hard to describe, so soft and smooth yet so very massive at the same time. Ryan Halifax has been displaying his talent for basslines a couple of times already, but this one is the undisputed king. Anyways, the percussion is top-notch as well, some housey reverbing sounds are layered on top in a very trippy-trancey way, then some twisted wandering sound, all in all a very housey and very psychedelic track that just doesnt stop. Progressive House Trance at its best. Oh, and did I mention that bassline already... 8. Varoman - Kickin And Drummin: at the end we get a real progressive house track that I think was released on vynil already. Very well produced, like the track name says with a phat kick and cool drums, but also with a piano-like lead that moves the track along nicely. Nothing groundbreaking, but it works. In conclusion, a very good compilation that I recommend. The best tracks are 5 ("KKKIIILLLAAARRGHHHH"),7(!!),2(!!),6(!) and 1, the rest are strong solid tracks as well, no fillers. The flow works and its very good for home listening in one sitting, no annoying tracks to skip through. Oh, and those who just want that amazing Paste track for example, you can buy each track for 99cents on the plusquam site ( www.plusquam-records.de) or the whole thing for 6.99. Good deal I think, at least you wont have to look at that ugly-ass cover
  11. One of my alltime favorite groups, Beat Bizarre, has released a new album after just one year. That was surprisingly fast, considering how much time was between their first, Lewd, and their second, Pandoras Groove Box. Lewd is an absolute classic, everyone agrees with that, but Pandoras Groove Box was met with a lot of criticism. I didnt like it at first, then it grew on me and I had it playing all the time, but now looking back there are only two or three tracks on the same level as Lewd. Maybe that was the reason that the two members, Martin and Rene decided to split and make four tracks each for Somersault Industries, who knows. Anyways, the decision was a good one because Somersault Industries is better than Pandoras Groove Box. Not because there are bigger "hits" here, like I said the tracks on Pandora that were good were exceptionally good, but because there are no fillers here except the first track. Beat Bizarre is always at its best when they create dense pulsating atmospheres that keep pushing further and further. I like to call it the "tunnel vision effect", and no one does it like Beat Bizarre. Usually you find yourseld bumping along gentle with the opening grooves, and then something happens that completely sucks you into a vortex. BB's use of trippy dark samples to make structures and grooves is unparalelled, and usually they create just the right percussion to enhance the effect. What I like about their style, as opposed to most overladden psychedelic music such as fullon, is that the listeners mind has enough space to fill in the gaps, the "melodies", or pseudo melodies you might call them, are created in your head and are highly subjective. To some it might be a random assortment of sounds, to me it sounds like Mozart Another thing about Beat Bizarre that is exceptional is that they almost sound better at a low volume, or to be more exact, when you listen to it low their tracks have a completely different and new dimension. For example track 3, Stereoorganic, played loud is a grooving body moving monster with everything that goes along with that, but play it low and its almost meditative chillout. When surfing the net or doing something at night while playing the track at a low volume it completely sucks me in and puts me into a state of trance, it works on such a subconscious level, a feeling thats very hard to describe. Other BB tracks work the same way, not just from Somersault Industries, but in general. Its like when you buy this CD you get 2 for 1, the loud party version and the low meditative chillout version. The cool thing about Somersault Industries is that there are some pure "tunnelvision" tracks, while there are some that combine the tunnelvision with something else. Im gonna walk you through the tracks now starting with: 1) Milk Tooth- The only bad track, pretty boring and unevolved, a bad start. 2) Content May Differ- "tunnelvision light", you might call it, because it has that typical BB style I was talking about, however it has a lighter loftier atmosphere, no melodies, though. Very good for the morning, also very good at low volume for the meditative version. A real winner. 3) Stereoorganic - as mentioned above a real groover with a heavy as fuck subbass and trippy atmosphere, especially the chopped up voice samples profane dislikes, but I love them, aided by the driving percussion this makes for the most "typical" BB track. I cant stop listening to this track, its like a journey into the heart of darkness. Cool! On a sidenote: All you nighttime fullon killlllarggghhhh lovers, this is what real nighttime music should sound like, its more psychedelic and trippier than anything psychotic micro and Skazi will ever produce. 4) A'quatet- A happy groove, videogame atmospheres, i thought it was kinda annoying at first, but its not. A perfect morning outdoor tune that takes some time to take off, but when it does it really plays with your head with some cool morphing crunchy sounds. 5)Ding Dong Dynamo - slow and bouncing, seems boring at first but then it really gets you, the percussion rises and sounds are added. still a happy atmosphere between all the haunting sounds, also very good at a low volume. 6) Snowflake Shake - The perfect fusion between BB style and the current Plusquam style progressive psy sound. A groovy as fuck bassline, housey stabs, but then watch it take off after 6 minutes. Where a lot of the current prog psy goes nowhere, watch this baby take off to higher spheres. Driving percussion, quirky analogue sound, WOW!!! 7)Analogical - The tunnel meets old skool analogue sounds, a real psychedelic upbeat party smasher, with cool little melodies and trippy sounds. Somewhat like Pop the question, but a lot more upbeat. This will have a lot of hands in the air and people stomping. Probably the most upbeat track BB has done so far, and I like it. 8)2 lame 2 blame - At the end we get another slow groover, and what a groover it is. Lots of pad-like sounds, used with great skill and restraint to create haunting atmospheres. A cool groove and percussion that keeps building, a very unique track but still very BB. Works also really great at low volume. So, in my opinion a must-buy, but you might have noticed i really like BB. If its as good as Lewd I dont know, only time will tell, but its a great CD that has them venturing into new areas. My fave tracks are 3(!!!),6(!!),7(!!),8(!) and 2, Im not gonna give a grade, i feel those dont do music any justice. The cover is cool as hell, too, it really fits the music well. BUY IT!
  12. YSE compilations are not targetedv at trance-heads like us, but at others who dont know the scene and wanna own a "goatrance" CD. They should get credit for that, tzhey are spreading our music and help artists survive.
  13. Antix, Phony Orphants and Beat Bizarre are coming up, things will get better. Also Frogacult was really deep and cool. I dont know why, but even when Israelis do or try to do progressive, it always sounds superficial and plastic. Even though there are some very good tracks here, they somehow lack the deepness of euro/australian producers. Its all bubblegum music, tasty and progressive bubblegum, but still only bubblegum. Israelis seem to have heard so much fullon that they cant get rid of these influences. On the other hand there are good israeli house producers, like Moshic or the Flash Brothers, so its probably just those israelis from the trance scene. Im also quite disappointed by that Freq track, its very well done and all that, but its way to fast and noisy, it fits seemlesly with all the bubblegum here. someone should hack Freq`s Logic or Cubase and manipulate it so he cant go faster than 135 bpm any more, his slow tracks are always a lot better, like Return to the Masters or that Frogacult Remix.
  14. no, thats a remix by Evil Drug Lords (EDL), called another brick in the wall. So, loof for Evil Drug Lords (or EDL) Another Brick in the Wall. Its unreleased, so youre gonna have to download it.
  15. The weird incomprehensible blurb in Atmos "The only process", i dont know whatbthe fuck its saying, and i like it that way:) Sounds like "Marktstraße, Marktstraße" (Market Street in German)
  16. yes, i alsothink when you have 90% of all labels releasing full on, the piece of the pie is only gonna get smaller. Truly innovative stuff stands out. Just look at the insane amount of so called full on "labels", its like everyone who, for good reason, doesnt get his CD released by a normal label starts his own. No woder sales are so low. And all these labels that keep mass producing all these VA compilations that no one wants to listen to, its all fast food, and as such its not being sold, its being downloaded and then thrown in the garbage can. I for one only buy stuff I like and thazts worth buying, the rest I download and throw into the trash can in a matter of hours, heck, iu dont even bother downloading this stuff anymore. Now, im not talking about BEN here, hes a great artist, ANT INvaision is one of my alltime favs, TEst rocked as well, I just think its aa shame hes doing fullon, and I heard the samples, they suck. Anyway BEN, when your techtrance album comes out, Ill still BUY it, dont worry.
  17. Average Beverage by Atmos, of course (actually its pretty cool, better than average). For real, i would say anything by GMS
  18. Thanks for the nice welcome, Gnome, I already got myself into a juicy discussion about religion that would be unthinkable at isratrance.
  19. I was a regular user here when you didnt have to register for it and when it was still on the french domain adress between 2000 and 2003 I think. Then it kinda died down and I moved to isratrance, because it was all new and exciting to me and i forgot about this one completely, but lately im kinda bored with the heavy moderation and 16 year olds posting their fav KILLAAAAASSS, so I checked back here and this seems to really have picked up again, there are discussions that seem a lot more inteligent, the people here are apparently not 16 and under, its not all neo full-on, so i`ll start hanging out here again. PREPARE FOR THE GAY SATANIC HIPPIE!!!! (too bad they dont have those cool diablo emoticons like in Isratrance, they seem to be in order now)
  20. GaySatanicHippie

    Ticon

Spincycle is definitely the one here, Texas Magnusson while still being a great track is a tiny bit too much for my tastes, but Spincycle is a typical Ticon masterpiece like only they know how to do it.
  21. Well I really loved Encoded/Decoded, it was one of my fav albums at the time, but this one seems too much full on for me, and the synth lines seem very obvious and in your face. I would have expected more subtlety from someone with Tegmas background. However I have only listened to it once, I gotaa give it some more listens to make a fair review, because Tegma is a great artist and im sure theres more to it than meets the eye. To be fair since Enc/Dec my music taste went a lot housier and proggier, im sure a Homer and Lazon album would be a lot more up my alley.
  22. this ep is great, driving, cool sounds, wobbly bassline, and wipping percussion. Listen to it on a big system, itll blow you away. 9/10
  23. marmohr is the first paste track i really like, very nice work. btw, im only into minimal, so im not a full-on person, just that you know my frame of reference. like i said, marmohr kicks ass, it reminds me a lot of noma. its kinda like nomas release on microgram stylewise, if you know what i mean.
