  1. No, the Auricular remix really made it better, after listening to it for a while I adjust my grade to 9/10.
  2. I really like this EP, very cool chill-out songs, and also a killer remix that really grew on me lately. Its the defintion of floaty, it puts the Atmos in atmospheric. ( Am I making sense here?) I like everything Atmos does, so im not the one to judge, but I would say a least 9/10
  3. I was kinda tired last night when I wrote the first (short) review,, but this masterpiece deserves more attention. Timesteps has everything your heart will ever want. PHAAAAT kick, cool percussion, beautiful floating sounds and tripped out samples that are fighting with Atmos's "Marktstrasse, Marktstrasse" to be the coolest sample ever. I have only had this for a week, but this may very well become my favourite song of all time. I don't think even Seb has ever done anything this brilliant ( maybe" trying outwards" from the ooze CD, but that's a different genre). The only thing I dont understand is why he doesnt release this masterpiece on his own label? Lucky Flow Records, im sure this will break all of their sales records. Anyway, this is an absolute "MUST-HAVE-NOW" for everyone, and full-on people, dont be afraid, this is not Son Kite, there a lots of melodies here, so this is for you, too. Get it, NOW!!!!!
  4. i completely agree, an absolute masterpiece, 10/10 definitely
  5. i agree, Time Machine is great, very well done. Sounds very swedish, but thats a good thing! I dont like the other song, though. But still 9/10 for Time Machine

    V/A - 3D Story

what do you guys have against best of ... compilations? Not everyone has every good old record. Lots of people who are not crazy Psytrance-website dwellers and dont know the whole discography really enjoy these kinds of comps. Thats all I wanted to say, since i dont have this record, but anyway, i like the idea
  7. this is as close as it gets to techno/hardhouse in the psytrance scene. Usually when people here say "it sounds like techno" they're wrong, but here id have to agree. still good though, though the only track that gets close to "downhill" is slice, the tranciest and best track here imho. but the other ones are good, too, very slow. around 130 bpm id say, heavy hardhousey groove, but much better than your average uk shit. this has big crossover potential i think, this man has very good taste. But still, i liked the warped synthetic sound of his older stuff better. so, its good, but there could have been more tracks like "slice" i'd give it 7.5 of 10
  8. I have nothing to add to Syre's review. 9/10 sounds about right. And 4 and 5 are the best tracks, i agree as well. It kinda reminds me of Headcleaner mixed with the typical Shiva Chandra sounds, because its minimal in structure but still so melodic and smooth, and very very deep. A "must have" for everyone, it shows that this guy already released 4 LP's, he knows what he's doing!!!
  9. THis is Ticon + Son Kite, but I have to say this is my least favourite DS and Qlap release, even though im usually a really big fan of both. Well, everybody missis sometimes, but my friend who is a techno DJ loves it, and i gave the record to him and he spins it at techno parties.
  10. Digital Structures rocks, thats all I have to say at this points. No other label except Iboga releases so much high quality music. These are 8 songs that could easily be singles for the price of one LP. My favourite is song # 6 Ticon - Shaken not Stoerd. Beautiful, no more, no less. Other highlights include Son Kite with a track that sounds like what Massimo would sound like had he evolved, the always great Vibrasphere and Bigwigs, who finally realize that less noise sometimes is more listening enjoyment. All others are good too, no weak tracks at all. Another honorable mention to Tegma, who have definitely improved their production quality, very phat and full sounding. Oh yeah, and the P-woland track is trippy as hell, nice work. Overall, great, I voted it as the best compilation from 2001 , and it deserves it.
  11. OK, I finally got the record. The a-side, Electricity reminds me of that annoying Ìnvisible` song by Underworld, which is one of their worst in my opinion. Anyway, Electricity is better, but still I think this is one of Ticons weaker songs, its nice and all, but it´s, i hate to say it, kinda boring. Doesnt matter, because skunk Funk makes it up easily. One of Ticons best songs, heavy driving percussion, nice grooves, industrial klinking, little melodies, INSANE!!!!!!! THe tension just keeps building and building, its one of those songs where you completely loose it on the dancefloor. 10/10 for this one. I wont grade Electricity, cause I dont wanna give Ticon a bad grade, cause I like them.
  12. when I first heard of Necton, I liked them, especially the Beethoven song. But they are getting more and more boring, it sounds so flat anmd predictable. Anyway, rather unintersting stuff here.
  13. The drill is one of my alltime favourite tracks, just wantyed to add that.
  14. I really like Magnetrixx, butn i have to admit that these are his worst tracks pretty much. Get the LP TRittschall, it is much, much better
  15. Swipe... used to be one of my favs when it came out. Great track, highly recomended.
  16. Shiva Shandra - Schaukelstuhl Remixes Artist: Shiva Shandra Title: Schaukelstuhl Remixes Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Schaukelstuhl Remixes (Auricular Rmx) 02. Schaukelstuhl Remixes (Bitmonx Rmx) 03. Schaukelstuhl Remixes (Haldolium Rmx) 04. Schaukelstuhl Remixes (SBK Rmx) Review: A very solid collection of Remixes of the song Schaukelstuhl (Rocking Chair) by Shiva Chandra. One mix is a complete waste of vynil( SBK Mix 2/10), but the rest are all very good. My favourite is the Auricular RMX. It has cool vocal sample, phat rolling bassline and that cool sample of the screeching Rocking Chair (8.5/10). The Haldolium mix cool, too, it doesnt really have anythinbg to do with the original, but its still a good song. It is very morning oriented and it doesnt use Haldolium's standard evil sounds, just a "effected" guitar and a driving bassline.7.5/10 for this one. The Bitmonx RMX is good, but nothing like their other stompers such as Undo or Erdbeer Kiwi. I expected more from them, but still pretty good, 7/10.
  17. Prisoners Of The Sun And Chris Organic - Go Get The Gravy / Bring Back The Sunshine Artist: Prisoners Of The Sun And Chris Organic Title: Go Get The Gravy / Bring Back The Sunshine Label: Spiral Trax Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Go Get The Gravy 02. Bring Back The Sunshine Review: Prisoners of the Sun and Chris Organic: Go get the Gravy/ Bring back the Sunshine (Spiral Trax Int. 2001) This is one of my favourite Ep's of the year 2001. The a-side Go get the Gravy (weird name) has a thick off-beat bassline, cool percussion and a very hypnotic sound that dominates the track. This song reminds me of a progressive Psytrance lullaby, but it still is driving and straight to the point. The real gem however is on the B-side, Bring back the Sunshine. This song is so well produced and mastered, the bassline ounds so rich and thick, it is mindblowing. The bassline carries the listener through the song until in the middle of the track a little melody descends from up on high only to get louder and louder to take over. Just beautiful. Listen to it very loud and you will know what I mean. This is one of those songs that can bring he tears to the listeners eyes, perfect morning trance if you will. 10/10 for the b-side, 7/10 for the A-side.
  18. True, the flipside is somewhat Tacky, but Whats Akabar kicks ass. Realy good debut release, well produced and very well done. Im gonna look out for more from theseguys.
  19. this is not minimal. This is pretty full on actually. My fav is Serial Overtypes, flows real nice with great energy. 7,5/10 I would say
  20. I bought this eventhough i didnt like it in the store, cause i thought its Massimo,so it has to be cool, but it really isnt. I liked the single that came out this summer on Headzone, so not all of Massimos new stuff sucks, but this LP really does. It doesnt go anywhere, the sounds are old and not even good at that, and there are some Gigi D'Agostino like cheese vocals on some songs, please!!! Massimo what has happened to you? Like some Athletes maybe some Artists should retire. Or maybe you should change the presets on your synths or maybe even buy a new one. Anyway, i am very sorry, 4/10 (thats generous)
  21. MEDIUM ROCKS!!! NATIVE RADIO ROCKS!!! The title track is so hard and unrelenting, whilew still keeping quite a melodic feel to it. 9/10 for that track. Watch out for the Native Radio track " Neuromancer" on the Vibration 4, even better than this one.
  22. This is THE SHIT!!!!!!! No one goes as deep as Beat Bizarre goes. Rolling Basslines, phat kicks, TRIPPYYYYsounds everywehere, it just descends more and more to the center of the earth. My favs. are Funk Fluid and Monochrome, but all others are at least 9/10 too. I also love the cover and the title of this CD, it all fits together perfectly, it is just one long and dark trip to insanity. This is pure hypnotizing highly psychedelic trance that lets you fill inthe blanks with your own head, while giving you the "support from below" that you need. 10/10, no doubt about it. Beat Bizarre is the future, i hope to hear more!!!!!

    V/A - Anima

Iboga is one of my fav labels, but i have to say that i was somewhat dissapointed. Tryptamine was better. The only track that saves this is Monochrome(10/10), but youb can get that on the "Lewd" Album. there other good tracks, too, like 8, 3 and 1, but not up to ibogas mormal standards. 6,5/10 Sorry, Iboga, but you have done much better
  24. I only heard the Haldolium mix, and that is brilliant. Takes the song, which is one of my favourites anyway, to a whole other level. Well done, Haldolium!!!!
