  1. They returned our stock to us. Not sure about other labels. Wonder what they did with the stock belonging to now defunct labels. It's sad they went bankrupt. Rob is such a nice and inspiring guy. Was always a pleasure to do business with them. They will be missed. Thanks for all, Rob & friends.
  2. Unmixed single version of Ablaze (Time Leap Remix) available now at Bandcamp – free of charge or pay what you want! http://dvsm.bandcamp.com/track/ablaze-time-leap-remix-unmixed My ambition is to have a remix package available soon, too, for those who enjoyed Rapide ou plus lent. This would include the files that I've used in my live sets when I've puzzled it together on the fly. I've been a little busy at work basically since the album came out, but I've started scanning my libraries to see what else I might have to share with you all.

    Anyone seen Cloud Atlas yet?
  7. Just wanted to say thanks to the Psynews crew for the help I got when I had some trouble changing themes. Very quick response from you guys, much appreciated.
  8. -20 degrees and no time to go skiing. Terrible.

  9. Just finished Hackers - Heroes of the Computer Revolution by the American journalist Steven Levy. It was first published in the 80s and describes how late-night experiments at MIT developed into a new market as computers and computer games became available en masse. It's an interesting read, a window to a past in which few could foresee the incredible technological leaps man ws about to make. Even if it's 'old' and might look a little dated, it's not insofar as detailing the period from the 50s to the early-mid 80s, which is what the author sets out to do.
  10. Bear Grylls is quite popular here in New Zealand, so I picked up his new book in a why-not-give-it-a-shot kind of way, A Survival Guide for Life. I had expected more anecdotes but did learn a bit about him as a person, for example how faith is important to him on his adventures. (It's no in-your-face propaganda, though.) Rich in quotes and examples of people he admires and most of what he writes is common sense, I feel, but nevertheless important in reminding oneself how attitude and approach are key in living life to the fullest. I'll probably pick up one of his other books that mainly deal with his adventures; he's an interesting character even if his writing isn't always that intriguing.
  11. Finished the fourth part in the A Song of Ice and Fire series - definitely the best part so far! It's truly epic.
  12. I'm going to participate in a beginner's surfing course in NZ over Christmas and New Year's Eve getting all bruised up.
  13. Finished In Search of Shangri-La by Michael McRae, an interesting account of 20th century attempts to discover the Tsangpo valley in Tibet. Describes the approaches and ideas behind the expeditions. An interesting read.
  14. Finished Rashomon and Other Stories by Ryunosuke Akutagawa. Recommended. Will try to find more of his works. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryūnosuke_Akutagawa
  15. Just finished George R.R. Martin's A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow. Happy I decided to continue reading the series as this book has been the best one so far. Will take a short break and then dive into the next book in the series.
  16. You put on an awesome show and the three of us were all stoked. :-) Do you still perform from time to time? Would love to hear some of that new music of yours. I've lived abroad for about two and a half years now and I feel like I have a lot of catch up work to do when I move back to Sweden next year.
  17. kicking back; summer's right around the corner in sunny NZ

  18. Actually, I believe it was on a quite obscure occasion in Norrkoping, Fest i valen, if I'm not mistaken. Remember that one? Much of the focus at that multi genre event was on other genres like electronica and techno, so unfortunately there was only a handful of us on the trance floor when you performed. (An iPod and a Nordlead hooked up to the mixer, I believe?)
  19. Awesome news, David. I still remember a liveset of yours (about eight years ago, I think) and I was totally blown away, seeing you going absolutely wild on the keys. Best of luck with your new release.
  20. Have read a couple of stories lately. Reread 'The Voyage' by Katherine Mansfield about two months ago just before I crossed the Cook Strait, on which this short story centers. Quite a short story, really, and I enjoyed it a lot more now than I did when I first read it at university. Got Philip K. Dick's 'Do Androids Dream of Electroc Sheep?' for my birthday. Awesome read that really gets your mind going. Then read 'A Clash of Kings', the second novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Not quite as good as the first novel in the series, but I've given the third installment a go as well. Lots of reading on the road and where I'm at right now there are well sorted bookstores on every corner.
  21. The first reviews are online! :-) (one of which you'll find here on Psynews by Trance2MoveU: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/64619-lab-clean-air-turbulence-ep/ ) http://dvsmrecords.org/?page_id=2289
  22. Just finished A Games of Thrones by G.R.R. Martin. I felt like it was a bit dull at times - just intrigues building up but not that much happening, really - but after 500 pages or thereabouts it really took off. Will happily dive into the second novel shortly; I'll just finish another novel I picked up last night for a bit of variation. :-) Anyone looking forward to the new Iain M. Banks novel? I heard it's supposed to come out soon.
