  1. When I've heard the term used, it's just been instead of progressive psytrance, and not as a new term for a new style.
  2. Nice review, but I don't agree with your rating. Actually I think it's one of the best morning full on albums since Astrix's almost legendary first album "Eye To Eye". Almost all tracks featured are of very high quality, and the extra track "Peekaboo" was also a very nice addition, and is of the same high level as the rest of the album. Only downside was probably "High Orbit" and "More Directions", where I prefered the original "New Directions".
  3. You're in luck: Planet B.E.Ns album "Test" released last year actually had "Trippy Future Garden" as a bonus cd http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/had/had2cd022.html
  4. Protoculture, Wrecked Machines, Sub6, Pixel, Altöm, Rinkadink, Silicon Sound, Hydrophonic, Pop Stream, Triptych, Deedrah, Tikal. Astrix was also pretty good before the "Artcore" album.
  5. No Cosma, Sub6, Shulman, Lish, Sesto Sento. Xerox, Illumination/Lumins or Pixel? Hell, even Yahel deserves a spot in that list in my opinion.
  6. The new Cosmic Tone album "Wake Up" will be released in 2005 on Com.Pact. Hopefully it will be deeper and more diverse than the somewhat disappointing "Going Solo".
  7. Yeah, excellent album. Much more serious atmosphere than the new album from X-Dream.
  8. Worst kind of topic: "WORST KIND OF MUDIC"
  9. Check out one of the pioneers of ambient: Brian Eno. I also think Ishqs album would be something for your taste.
  10. Both "Mystery Of The Yeti" compilations/albums from TIP.world.
  11. Shorts or jeans (depending on the weather) and a t-shirt always worked fine for me – I can’t imagine that putting on some fancy clothes would give me a better experience of the music. But ok, taste differs.
  12. Don’t know if it’s THE best, but the first that came to mind was TIP.Worlds Halluci-Nations from 1999 - back when TIP.World where still a standout label, releasing interesting and groundbreaking music. Great compilation and one of the most important from that period.
  13. Another day, another ”oldschool psychedelic twisted epic goa is the best music in the woooooooooooooooorld” topic at psynews.org...
  14. Also check out: 12 Moons – Solid State - much more melodic and mellow though (some would call it cheesy, I call it a masterpiece) Shaman – Foretaste – more minimal, and reminds me of some of the earlier stuff by Son Kite.
  15. Great review, and a really nice compilation from the Iboga allstars. Not the best compilation this year in my opinion though, “A Day After..” from ZMA was even better. But very solid compilation no doubt. My favourite is Frantix by the way.

I’m a bit with you on this one. Yes, it’s a very very nice album, but I also think it sounds quite dated today (but a lot the releases from that time do). I suggest you try to pick up “Family Of Light” as well. Much more up-to-date production, and with a bit more laidback approach compared to the sometimes over the top melodies of “IFO”. “Family Of Light” is probably one of my top5 alltime psychedelic albums.

  18. Trance: - Segment - Whooky's Wha (with a mindblowing 4 minute intro) - Tim Schuldt - Pretty Poison - Tomtron And Timm Liesegang - Under The Sun - M-Sphere - Roots - Vision & Canedy – Low Life - Eat Static - The 1st Revelation - Mino – Contagious Ambient/Chill-out: - Vibrasphere - Manzanilla - Celtic Cross - Hicksville - Younger Brother - Evil And Harm
  19. One of the most underrated albums this year, and one of the best albums of the summer. I didn’t find it a pure progressive release, but a release with some of the best elements from progressive and full on, spiced up with catchy grooves, beautiful uplifting melodies and pads and high level of production. My favourites are “Burning Illusion”, “Tripmonx”, “Attack And Release”, "Gates Of Dawn" and “Highway 420” (also released on “Dilation” from Nano Records) but basically all the tracks are of very high quality. In my opinion this, and the BLT & Danni Makov album, are the best “progressive meets full on” releases yet. Unfortunately this didn’t receive the attention it deserved.
  20. Yep, it’s the entire live set. There’s some more information (and a few lengthy clips) here: http://www.mpdqx.com/sonkitecolours/blueframe.htm
  21. Uff, horrible album in my opinion - Over the top cheesiness and bad production. I guess if this had been released before the millennium the Israelis would have called it nitzhonot.
