  1. +1 thanks for the reminder. Just threw Fairytale in the deck to start my Friday morning.
  2. Can you recommend to me some of the best (in your opinion) bass/face melting stuff out there? I've really been searching through this nice little subgenre and wanting to explore the very dark hard side of it, but would really dig some suggestions. Everything I've been recommended as horror or core just doesn't seem to have enough bollocks. Any help is appreciated. Cheers
  3. @Ormion - c'mon now, don't hold back - let's see that SA list. Really interested to see your picks (and learn some new ones for meself) Throw down my friend...
  4. Well thanks to this thread I am being introduced to all sorts of classics I had not been able to hear before. Kindzazda - Waves From Outer Space Xenomorph - Cassandra's Nightmare Baphomet Engine vs Datakult - Psytrance Is Dead! all brilliant. Thanks for the education. And put me down for another +1 for Kraft. Also, I simply love Wi']['ch - The Hypersub. Really can't wait for a proper full length of this stuff. I'd like to throw in my picks of Ajja - Psychogenica Abomination - Enemy Within Menog - Emotions Ocelot - Aural Sects Twisted System - Core
  5. +1 I absolutely loved Sigilweaver and really can't wait for this one. Oh I hope its good (please Ghreg, make it good?)
  6. I thought it would be a good idea to have a list here on psynews of the albums we consider to be the must have or "best" darkpsy albums. When making your list, feel free to include EP's, Full length, and V/A's. And let's use some basic categories - Horror/Psycore Forest/Tribal Twilight (dark full-on) [feel free to add a category if I've missed one you think should play in] Let's explore this flavorful little side world of psy and see what's out there. Remember - this should be the best of the best (in your opinion of course) - not just stuff you've enjoyed, but rather stuff that would make a Darkpsy Canon. [i'll post a little list of my own, but I don't want to influence opening posts - so I'll leave that for a little later after we've accumulated a bit of a list] Have fun with this, and keep the posts coming. Cheers and PsyON
  7. That's it. Thanks my friend. Very helpful indeed. Cheers
  8. Anyone know what the colors to the left of titles on Discogs.com mean? Some have grey, some have yellow etc. Can't seem to find a key or guide. If you know - I would love to know what the heck the colors mean. Thanks everyone. Peace, and as always... PsyON [Mods feel free to move this post to somewhere more appropriate if necessary]
  9. It's my community too pal. So my nose belongs as much as yours And have zero class if you want - don't throw the rest of us in that category. People I have met in the Psy world are some of the coolest I've ever known and still to this day some of my best friends. Anyway - you've made your point for all to see.
  10. way to attack the artist and call them a liar no class psylover- if you can really call yourself that poor showing lad @synsun - great stuff - goa classic still rules cheers for the awesome sounds - please keep em comin 604ever
  11. excellent stuff really great my friend well done I love what you've done to blend the styles not a lot of people are doing this very original awesome beat while keeping the psychedelic flavour strongly up front dig it cheers
  12. cool samples think I will snatch this one up cheers to ToF 604ever
  13. this was fantastic exactly what I'm looking for percussive and trying to be psychedelic or ambient or chillout but hard and in your face I welcome many more recommendations in this style what is this called? hard-techno/hardcore/something else? maybe I've just been asking for the wrong thing whatever this style is, I dig it and would love to find more (old or new school) cheers for the video
  14. @piginspace I guess I was just looking for an opposite term for minimal. Minimalism tries to have less going on, and especially with so much of the modern stuff I have heard, not only has less going on but is also more tame and laid back, almost ambient/downtempo stuff. So yes, banging/hard/aggressive/in your face kind of techno from newer artists is what I'm looking for. Thanks for all the recommendations - I will dig a little and see what I like. Cheers
  15. Ok, So I have poked around a lot trying to learn as much as I can about Techno and thanks to many of you, I have discovered a ton of great music I have been really enjoying my Techno experience thus far. As a general Psy-head, its refreshing to occasionally dive into other genres. I have gotten a lot of recommendations for old school techno ala Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram, Speedy J, Surgeon, X-101, System 01, Holy Ghost, Sven Vath and some others. and I have also gotten a ton of new school/modern minimal recommendations like Paul Kalkbrenner, Minilogue, Robert Babicz, Stimming, Evan Marc, Ricardo Villalobos, Trentemoller etc. But my question is.... IS THERE ANY BANGING "MAXIMAL" TECHNO FROM THE MODERN ERA? Is it all minimal/tame/chilled/ambient? I'm looking for recommendations of new/modern era Techno that is aggressive and maximal, as opposed to relaxed and minimal. Any ideas? All info and recommendations are appreciated. Cheers everyone.
  16. Hence the statement about you not getting it, nor maybe even having the capacity. On some levels, in some circles, the whole scene doesn't get it anymore which so heavily indicated by the loads of unlistenable drivel being produced and the massive amount of festivals parties and clubs dedicated to playing it. The very fact that you can't embrace the idea that music transcends dance and culture and the power of the mind and spiritualism and myriad other things shows that you truly do not get the whole psy music mentality or lifestyle. There is so much more to the music than the obvious. But it appears you really just don't get it and want to argue and bicker and make noise. It's too bad (for you anyway) Maybe you should seriously consider starting to watch MTV and listen to pop radio hits... At least this music requires no brainpower (and everyone into it knows this so its not a problem) Ok, so now I'm being a prick and maybe shouldn't - but in all honesty, this may just be too deep for you. I really am sorry you don't get it. Listen to some Brittney or Muse or Timberlake or Flo Ryda today... maybe it will make you feel better.
  17. these are some great recommendations I forgot to say that I do not mind the darker/twilight/sa side of Full-On that Ocelot is awesome and so is DMT Cowboys thanks again
  18. normally I don't chime in like this, but I am so sick of all the nonsense in the forums, like people have somehow lost their right to an opinion or viewpoint without having to take abuse from some crazed fan of (fill in the name of artist/label/track/genre here) who can't stand it if someone else disagrees with their taste (be it good or bad or otherwise) tired of it so here goes... @on10 stop being a prick - people are just stating opinion, and here you come with the bashing play easy would ya? sheesh trolls...
  19. @laserflip That is indeed a good plenty lot for the moment I will dig in and see what's up. Thanks for all the recommendations. Appreciated... Anyone else?
  20. Ok, so we all know there is so much of this cheesy, unoriginal "dance-floor-centric just to make a buck in the clubs" kind of full-on being produced en masse every 5 seconds, but there must be some good right? I just got finished listening to Tron's Biologic several times and was really pleased with it - made me think there must be more. So... I am asking psynews readers to post suggestions for good Full-On without all the cheese - constant bad breakdowns and absurd build ups with no real punch, whether you think its really banging dance floor music or you just enjoy listening in a private setting but would prefer to dance to something else. I'd love to see where people land on this one. Have fun, please be nice to each other and let's see what happens. Cheers everyone. 604ever
  21. I love the old schoolers coming out with new albums Guess they can't all be goa classics, but I welcome his new stuff I'm definitely more of a fan of Blue Energy than Fiction but I will give it a spin for sure Should be interesting 604ever
  22. its minimal - its tech - and its good wouldn't call it trance by any stretch but I do like it and check that basilisk set, its good too gives some good insight to the recent good offerings from the tech/deephouse/proggy techno world anyway - thanks for the good list of tracks cheers PsyON
  23. What would be spectacular to see is the list. Got one? Or is there a way to open a document here that people could add to? We could all contribute to try and fill out the list. I'd be willing to play just to see what that list looks like. Question: are you counting 12"/Maxi/EP and so on or just full albums? Interesting post if it could go somewhere more developed... Cheers
