  1. now I understand it better... I also have one great mate and I imagine if we were together performing as such an artist, it would probably all go totally wrong aswell if we had to take care about everything all by ourselves ... a few sips of good whisky too much here and there and suddenly missing a plane would appear relative ... hehehe But if it was all done oh so professionally, it would probably stop being fun. And that's the most important thing after all. So I just hope things don't go wrong when go I see them one day And about the album, I'm confident that they'll bring it out sooner or later...
  2. Hello all I don't know how many follow news about S-Range here, but I just found out that he has released a new live set from Full Moon Festival 2010 ... and I'd like to share the news... Liveset available at: http://r.fm/artist/s-range/ It's definitely worth a listen if you are interested what sound Anthony's producing nowadays. You hear quite a lot of tracks from his remixes album from last year, but there's some new ones too and these are worth the listen. The full track Maxx Range (preview on his Myspace) is among these aswell. If you want to listen to the new stuff only, skip the first half an hour. I think they're quite good, even though it's fullon ... there's also something of the old S-Range mood still shimmering through I'm posting this because there ought to be a new S-Range album coming soon if you believe the news and I'm sure that the sound on the album is most definitely going to be like that... Don't ask me when the album comes though, I have no clue. Anyone knows? hehe...
  3. I'm sorry to hear that some peoples good spirits have been let down... but on a sidenote, I think that AP somehow have a talent when it comes to missing flights ... it seems to happen quite often ... anybody remembers the story where they were too drunk and didn't catch the plane...? this time it was obviously not their fault, but man... I'm really happy that no shit happened as I saw them. Good luck seeing them next time to you guys. ... oh and what about that damn album? is there a date? anything official?
  4. holy * @ the Nathan Fake track. absolutely awesome. Totally worth looking into this thread! Thanks Nectarios the Todd Terry tune (from threadstarter) is already a bit too housy in my opinion ... can't suggest anything exactly similar, but when you wanna know what "psy-house"ish stuff I dig lately, then check out some tunes of the new Shiva Chandra release "Tones EP": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbJNyIA9p9I
  5. next time show him the ohm tatoo I hate such elitist fucks. You might think goa scene is free of them, but it ain't ... and that's what I hate most, because isn't that scene ... ummm ... tolerant?
  6. this is interesting, because I too saw him playing just 14 days ago ... and he did the same to me! I can't describe it, I have never felt like that before ... it was like somebody having attached strings to me, directing me like a puppet, even though I swear to god not having taken drugs except a ridiculously small amount of beer. I think, for the first time in my life I have been into something such as "trance" ... because until to that point, all that I felt when on psy arties was EUPHORIA, but not trance! What flashed me the most was the time perception ... I was thinking having been already dancing for two hours, while Rother did not even have played one! That was so strange, I was almost getting sick and scared, but fortunately the music was so gentle to not make me freak out (if this happened on a psy party I'd certainly have flipped). But after some time, my perception became clearer, more whole, crisp clear and sharp vision and such. And after Rother was done, it was all gone all of a sudden. I never have felt anything like this before. Totally interesting. And the atmosphere was great ... this was supposed to be a big party on a festival, but it was utterly badly promoted and there were almost no people, only 100 instead of the supposed 2000! It was almost like a private small party from some rich as fuck person ... totally strange. I have payed 27 Euros and I just went ther to see Rother (because the festival was actually shit and no people), but it was worth every cent, such an awesome experience ... and because there were no people, I could even walk up front and shake hands with the man himself ... normally this would never have been possible if I hadn't payed for the super expensive VIP ticket (an absolutely idiotic practice). So there's only positivity to report ... even though that was surely a one-time event because the promoter and organizer have probably lost a huge amount of money because so little people were there...
  7. oh noooo ... but then it's only half as cool ... I was already picturing one totally crazy sweating and panting middle-aged grumpy-looking man with a loosely fitting suit in front of the piano, sitting in a bowed-down position, hands cramped, red face, hissing breathing... the video you showed there has a far too serious touch.
  8. hey, Bahamut ... you know, normally I'm not such a big fan of the piano stuff you are posting ... but this is awesome! seriously awesome! but how can one play this ... it's insanely fast.
  9. yess, we have such a store here in Vienna too ... but the clerks were not so superstitious, they admitted having little to no clue. I remember I ordered the last S-Range single there, years ago ... because I had no credit card to order it online... But the CDs were regular price there, so no hunting. Interestingly, the last time I was there they cleared their shelves so I got some cheap ones
  10. Atmos - Headcleaner Auricular - Audion Etnoscope - Drums From the Dawn of Time Eat Static - Science of the Gods Solar Fields - Blue Moon Station
  11. at least they are honest now and there's no further date juggling August is a good guess, I doubt it will be sooner, rater a bit later. But they'd be stupid if they didn't release it this year...
  12. couldn't agree more... It was so cool. Already the smell in these stores ... a little bit old, basement style, smoke and dust in the air. And always the cick-click sound merging into the sound of the music plaing in the background (which to this day never was a single piece that I actually wanted to listen to) when flipping through the rows of CDs. And the "flash" when you've found something ... it's a feeling I picture like a fisherman making a giant catch. Awesome, totally awesome! And the good thing for me is, that these times are not entirely over yet! Some of the shops still exist ... and we still have got that once every several weeks CD fair I used to be at very often until two years ago or so. So it's not all dead yet, even though the chances of finding something really good have decreased by a large amount. Still, one day I might go hunting again when I'm near one of the shops... my cheers go to all the other CD hunter fellows of the past and present...
  13. Holy shit, this is awesome why the heck didn't I discover this earlier? anyway ... a really awesome track. I think of Bioshock listening to it ("Bathysphere", duh) ... and it even fits, creating a flight through that underwater city as it still was big time alive... Very very good! Seriously.
  14. haha, I looked at the pics some days ago and then it got so late at night I didn't even reply anymore totally fascinating and totally awesome!
  15. Dude, it's not that hard. Go dig through some used records stores. The last "goa" album I found was Eat Static - B-World for 1.50 Euros. To me it's kind of crap anyway (and I like Eat Static). Want it? I'd do a trade.
  16. "der mensch verändert die Genstruktur" / "human is changing the gene structure" that's all that I recall out of my head. can't listen to it here at work, I have no sound but what's most important: POPKILLER II is coming! Oh and I have discovered more great songs of him! He has put a big load of material on his homepage which can be listened to! This is great! Lately I absolutely dig No Love, We Are Punks and Follow The Leader.
  17. MATENDA! The good news are going strong the day I check back in the artist news subforum here, hehehe... Anyways, this is GREAT! But does it have to be digital? Guess it has. Anyway, this is a veritable reason to finally get myself an account on one of these stores, hehehe...
  18. Damn great news! Oh man, this came so surprisingly ... just in the right moment to kick me back on track (I was kind of pissed off just before). YEEEHAW! Will definitely order this one.
  19. same here! anyway, if this is going to be something, I'm in...
  20. V/A - Progressive Bunker (Panzar Produktionz 2010) It's the beginning of spring 2010 and this year's progressive music season is going to get started with a blast: Panzar Produktionz' first promo release "PROGRESSIVE BUNKER 2010" is out! Being a new and fresh underground collective founded in 2009, the members of the Panzar Produktionz community decided to bring this free release out to the public to showcase their sound and talent! And they are releasing this also to make people aware that they are keeping their promise, which was to revitalize the progressive scene with fresh, raw and original material with its own character, far aside from the commercial ordinary that is heard so much these days! Because the real progressive trance of the old days has become silent for a far too long time already. Much of the bite and power of the sound has seriously become diluted and shallow to a great extent with too many club sounds, pseudo-arrogance and fake-sophisticatedness that is around today. It was about time that something changed ... and Panzar Produktionz is bringing you this change! "PROGRESSIVE BUNKER" is the title of their first official promo compilation. Don't get distracted by the word "promo", this is just an indication that this has been released for everybody to enjoy -- with 8 seriously good tracks on the piece and the sound mastered to perfection you are actually getting real value here! The founders of Panzar Produktionz themselves are starting off this piece with the first track. PUSHERSTREET - DROGENSTRASSE delivers a "massive" (in the sense of "bass with a lot of mass" -- seriously!) track full of their funky yet raw sound, again with the melody being so tightly structured into the piece you can't seperate it. A wonderfully punchy bassline and the really creatively embedded sounds of marching police forces (I have never heard such a nice approach before, that's why I want to explicitly mention this here) are sure to please your ears! Second is IN YOUR PHAZE - PHAZING FORWARDS. It's not an easy task to find a connecting element between the first track (Pusherstreet) and the more "traditional" progressive sound, but this track does it quite well. Two elements are characteristic for this sound -- and actually for the whole repertoire of PANZAR PRODUKTIONZ: raw and straight to the point! But even though it is both, it manages to stay funky in its own way. A very good track to work out actually. Third track is EARDROP - T.H.C. This is now the music which is more sounding like the progressive which is widely known. But even though the effects and sounds are more "traditional", the arrangement is very good. Compared to the massive progression of the other tracks on this compilation, this one is almost floating, with an interesting synth line as a melody that I really like a lot! Up next is MANTRA FLOW with the track SHADE MACHINE. Mantra Flow has already had a release on Panzar Produktionz entitled "Land of Lysergic", which was great. This one sounds a bit different compared to all other Mantra Flow tracks I have heard so far, it's more focusing on the progressive side of the sound. But that's nothing bad, it's well done and with the changed pace in the middle part it shows some variation and does not get boring. A well executed piece of sound that only underlines the quality of this artist! The fifth track is PATARA - WALDLAUF. And hey, this is great, I even can hear a bit of the sound of Shiva Chandra in there! Seriously, this describes it best ... Patara is no copycat of course, but it's a very positive sign that to this I can nod my head with a grin on my face just like I did as I was listening to Shiva Chandra. It has some of the same essence, a similar type of progression and approach to effects, which I register with a lot of positivity, because this sound had kind of stopped to exist for me so far. Glad to hear that it's back here! Sixth track is COMATIC - METHBARON, a hard progressive stomper. There is no melody at all and it's also the shortest track but the progression in its machine-like style mingled with percussive synth effects is actually good, so I don't want to skip this one. After that you feel like it's time for some kickass. And indeed, it is. The track IN YOUR PHAZE & MANTRA FLOW - BY THE BASE will seriously get your ass moving. It is not so fast, but this is really well executed progressive sound with a massivity in the bass and bassline that is really one of a kind! This music is not focusing on tempo, over-cranked effects or anything else to build up energy, it focuses on sound only! And if you turn up the volume, you will totally feel what I mean. This is the sound of Panzar Produktionz -- it can't be described with words, it must be heard! Last but not (really not!) least is HOKUS FLOWKUS - KONGA KUNG FU (MAPE RMX). This one totally hit me by surprise because I wasn't expecting such a strong track as a finish. It's fast (compared to the rest), it's intense (in a totally different way), it's tribal (Konga percussion, baby), it's great! This track is creating such an energetic atmosphere that I could well picture the air on the dancefloors will be getting electric ... everything's just fitting in this one, perfect! After such a strong finish, I can just say wow... Summarized one can say that this is an awesome piece. There are actually no bad tracks at all and lots of seriously good ones. And with the purpose to raise awareness for their special and distinctive type of sound that Panzar Produktionz stand for, this compilation, which is the first one released by the collective, is released as a PROMO and therefore free for everybody to enjoy! And this is the point where I can only strongly suggest this compilation to absolutely everybody, even if it is just for checking out this new progressive sound that is actually capable of turning the scene around! This may seem like big words, but well, one has to do it, after all ... and if you listen to the tracks, you will hear why. My favourites: 1(!),3,5,7 and 8(!). 21. great! thanks Mars
  22. I listen to it on my PC and on my cellphone who has a media player. I have an ipod, but its accu is too low and I'm too lazy to order a new battery... And apart from not having that many digital releases anyway, I do not organize my collection. Some have tags, some have none, some are mislabeled, I don't care. I know what song is what and I'm the only one who should listen to those tunes, so it doesn't matter.
  23. you know, during all the time they could just shit on it and make another one, a second one ... and release the stuff of this one once the legal issues have been cleared. S-Range did it. The release of Another Theory was corrupted by the album having leaked, so he makes a third one ... which will be out soon according to the news. And funnily enough, that aforementioned release should have been in the same year as Astral were about to release their new one initially, as far as I remember. So he is now releasing his second new one and Astral do ... nothing?! We'll see who will be better off here. I'll stay tuned.
  24. a really good question! Anybody knows when it will be out finally?
  25. hey, you got me too... but that was a really nice and creative try (track names ftw) ... haven't been april fool'd yesterday anyway, so I'm pleased that it happens in such a nice way
