  1. The next interchill release is more pure soundsystem dub, than there previous stuff but it might be of interest to you.
  2. And it's just seven days away now....
  3. I don't buy anything on Ultimae even though I'm a chill out Dj because the way the tracks all just collide into one another, you can't even call them mixed because they really don't seem to care about pitch or tempo they just merge in a really clumsy way into the next tune...No good for me at all as a dj. there's always people who say to this well you've got all the tune to mix in ...but that isn't the point, with chill out stuff it's all different atmospheres anyway so I want all the tune. Because I don't buy Ultimae stuff I don't feel as if I can comment on the music, I think it's good that some of it is still trance based, there's far too much downtempo stuff being played at trance parties that is just basically bad jazz so I'm all for keeping some oldstyle downtempo trance style chill tunes but why does ultimae stuff sound so fucking grumpy ? from an outsiders point of view it sounds like real bad mood music.
  4. Everyone has such different tastes, I have no real respect for reviews, I've lost count of the amount of times I've read a review where the release couldn't be praised enough and then when I've heard it I've been unimpressed. I'd rather just listen to the samples of a cd on line and make up my own mind than take on someone eles view, because at the end of the day I buy things I like I don't really care what other people think.
  5. recently Natural Born Chillers 2, there was just nothing on it I'd ever want to play to anyone. A real disapointment because the first release was a classic.
  6. There has also been another Earth art stage added to the event.
  7. Psy breaks are seemingly quite fashionable in the uk again there are a fews clubs (mainly in the wider London area) pushing that sound. I think it's strange that the psychedelic trance scene from almost the world go the sound was never quite good enough and people from day 1 started to create sub genres.
  8. I think Sinewave is one of the best Uk based acts around at the moment.
  9. Although I listen to psychedelic downtempo stuff most of the time I've got to say Shpongle are rubbish ! I'd rather listen to pretty much anything else they're self indulgent noodly and their tunes don't seem to work for me on any level.
  10. Each to their own tastes if you don't like the psy chill you've heard chances are you won't have much time for other stuff people sugest, you either like music or you don't. for me chilled sounds (I hate the term chill out) are the real psychedelic music the warmth of the sounds and the rythmic ebb and flow, speak more to my body when I'm on acid than doof doof doof ever could.

  13. This must be one stand out track I've heard numerous mentions of it on the net and the album it's from Natural born chillers 2 has barely been out a week. I've never liked a Blutech track I've heard, but even I'm interested to give this a listen.
  14. a friend of mines just put up some of his ambient stuff on myspace which I think is worth a listen his act are called Blue Lily Commission .
  15. Treat everyone with the respect you'd expect to recieve and you'll be fine.
  16. I don't even understand why people are giving Infected mushroom the time of day on a forum that is for psychedelic trance, I made the bad mistake of going to see them end of last year in Birmingham and their music was just shit modern metal. half the audience walked out they were so bad. Antiworld (the UK's scummiest promoters) tried to put on Astrix the next month and people (the psy community I should say) felt so fucking ripped of by the fiasco of the Infected mushroom gig they ended up selling no tickets and it just didn't happen.
  17. Syncro is one act I was thinking about the other day, I wonder what he's up to nowadays. Shakatura what a strange output of music, a really good album followed by an album of half the 1st albums tracks and some compilation tracks then he does just seem to disapear. I contacted him to ask him about buying the dub ep he had for sale at us shows in 2005, never got a reply and I've never seen that ep.
  18. I saw Infected Mushroom last October they are the worst band I've ever seen in my life, I'd been warned that they had a new guitar based sound...I thought it would still have a foot in trance culture but NO, they came on and they sounded like rage against the machine and then they just got worst and worst. sad fat old men playing at being rock stars !!!! Custom rock is just cheap and nasty !!!! Infected Mushroom If you want to be a shit rock band go off and be a shit rock band but don't play psy parties playing that crap !
  19. :posford: Not so many days away now. 10 years of Kulu that makes it West Yorkshires longest running Psy trance club night , and I know that Madmick was promoting psychedelic events previous to Kulu. I think I played my first Kulu in 2001, I've been back a few times over the years and they're always top notch parties.
  20. :posford: :posford: :posford: this is how I'm going to be dancing.
  21. FRiday 13th March 09 there is a kulu allnighter at the mill in Bradford , west Yorks 3 rooms of music there's the psy trance room that this time features HYDRAGLYPH (live), Dj's Bez23, MadMick and DR Moose. there is a second room featuring Hard trance : Atomgrinder, GloBones and Oly NRG. and up at the top of the building there is a chill out room featuring : TETCHI (live) , and Dj's CosmoNaughty, Gerry Aum and Dj Badger. 10:00 pm until 6:00 am @ the Mill. Preston Street, Bradford , West Yorkshire BD7 1JE.
  22. I much prefer Fractal gliders old tracks "Stop chasing Ganesh" and the track on the Aussie Eclipse album (can't remember the title of that just now) were storming tracks some of the newer tracks I've heard like that "snaggletooth" just don't seem to go anywhere, there's just no dancefloor energy to them.
  23. I think Yellow sunshine explosion compilations serve there purpose for people who want to just dip their toe into the psy scene and see what the water is like. I'm amazed how when you worked it out how frequent there releases are they are quite a phenomenon really an English based label that you can't actually buy any of there product in English record shops I've not only never seen anything on Y.S.E. in chain stores, I've also rarely seen anything in smaller independant shops either. they must sell somewhere for them to have released so many comps. my one problem I have with Y.S.E......well not really Y.s.e. but DJ's who don't look any further than them, I can think of one London based DJ who's whole set always seems to consist of the 3rd best tracks off albums, after a while and this pattern repeating itself you realise that it's no coincidence it's because he gets all his music off Y.S.E. and that's what they are basically a collection of the 3rd choice tracks.
  24. I last saw Ozric Tentacles live last September and they've taken on a little bit of a new direction they are now just a three piece Ed guitars/keyboards his wife Brandy on Keyboards and Merv from Eat static has reformed them and is playing drums. the set I saw was in a chill out area but I got the idea that it was new line up with a slightly different more dance music influenced than before chill out kind of vibe. An acts with Ozric connections (there are more ex Ozrics members in them than anything ) playing uk psy clubs and festivals are an act called ZUb Zub who you might be interested in.
  25. Hey looking forward to seeing this new magazine in April, do you have a mail address to send for a copy ?
