  3. Anybody aware of Soulacybin? Local talent around my hometown, but has a classic psydub sound. http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/soulacybin-self-existing-earth http://soundcloud.com/soulacybin
  4. IC 1848 and IC 1805 are two nebulae shown above that are commonly referred to as Heart and Soul Nebula (heart: right, soul: left). Originally I was considering naming this mix after a supernova, but rather than focusing on star death I changed the theme to star birth. In an astronomical sense, a starburst galaxy refers to a galaxy that is undergoing a process of an incredibly high rate of star formation. The Heart and Soul Nebulae contain large cavities that were carved out by radiation and winds from the region's most massive stars, giving them triggered star formation. The carving out of these cavities pushes gas together, causing it to ignite into successive generations of new stars. This system can be viewed almost as a star nursery, where the clouds of gas and dust are undergoing intense nuclear fusion and creating brand new star clusters. The tracklist is probably fairly obvious to most of you, especially those of you who have heard me on TA Radio. This mix features a whole arsenal of colossal progressive psytrance blasters. I'd like to thank Dr. Mundus, Atmospheric Energy, and PsyScape for exposing me to these awesome tunes. 5. Hey man, I listened to the first one. Killer set. I've heard good techfunk/psybreak sets before, and this ranks up there. Check out my buddy Dave King, he spins a similar sound. http://soundcloud.com/djdavek/dave-king-entropy-13-04-2012 http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=614038
  6. What in the fuck is all that HTML rubbish? Are you alright, mate?
  7. Oh, I know. Perhaps the smiley face at the end threw me off lol. Pure psytrance from that era of music is relatively rare, especially the good tracks.
  8. Forgive me for disagreeing, but I would consider those two tracks to be closer to psytrance than goa. Considering you know so much about classic goa, it surprises me that the fact that I included those tracks bothers you, since a majority of all 'psytrance' tracks from that time period have significant goa influences. Finding tracks that abandon all the rules that goa trance sets was very difficult, so having tracks that may identify with goa shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for listening.
  9. Dude, this was so cool. Brilliantly executed, the narration sequences were well-timed and very interesting. One thing I'm not certain of is why you decided to include the tag "Electro" in the mix? To me there is no electro here, bar a very light hint in a few tracks. Everything is like you said, swingy, touch of prog/glitch/minimal. Highly interesting mix. If I had to give you advice, it would be to post more mixes, and post them in the DJ Promotion forum here. Also, please post a tracklist. Thanks for the music!
  10. It's always nice to explore the history of a certain sound. A lot of classic tracks from the mid to late 90's are mainly goa, or goa-influenced psytrance. A lot of times I'll listen to classics sets and be bored to tears with the lack of variety in some tracks. In this mix, I play a collection of weird music from early psytrance artists that broke the mold and pushed forward a style that was just a little different than everything around them. Note: A couple of the transitions are not so great, but it shouldn't detract hopefully. Also, if anyone is concerned about the Infected Mushroom track, think back and remember how boss Classical Mushroom was. Yeah, that's right. Giallieni - Glum [Javelin 1995] Star Sounds Orchestra - Washington [spirit Zone 1999] Shaolin Wooden Men - Remember the Slime [sub Terranean 1997] Snake Thing - Blizzard of Ooze [TIP 1998] ECT - Mäelström [self-release, Re-mastered 2011 (Original 1999)] Synchro - Power On [sub Terranean 1997] B.E.T.H. - Incredible News To Access [sub Terranean 1997] Infected Mushroom - Bust a Move [YoYo 2000] Psychopod - Friagram (GMS Refried Gram Mix) [TIP 1998] Enertopia - The Forehead Stories [Krembo 1998] Benza - West into the Sun [Demon Tea 2001] Left-click to download: Ziptnf - Obscure Alchemy (73:34) 134.72 ~256kbps
  11. Necromancy (/ˈnɛkrɵˌmænsi/) is a claimed form of magic involving communication with the deceased – either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily – for the purpose of divination, imparting the means to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge. The term may sometimes be used in a more general sense to refer to black magic or witchcraft. Hopefully some of my regular listeners will have noticed that I have been going back over some older mix ideas and improving them. I have done a death metal + psytrance mix in the past, but this time I added the extra depth and darkness that the previous mix was lacking. I love making these mixes, they are so much fun. Veil of Maya - Pillars [sumerian] Tim Shuldt - Pretty Poison [GTN] HiTech LoLife - God Bites Man [Digital Drugs Coalition] The Lysergic Orchestra - Pangalactic Gargleblaster [GDL] Talamasca vs Skazi - Imaginary Friend (Remix) [Mind Control] Astrix - On Fire [HOM-Mega] The Contortionist - Flourish [Good Fight] Between The Buried and Me - Selkies: The Endless Obsession [Victory] Dark Soho - Save Me God (Remix) [Alchemy] Xenomorph - Killer State [Psysolation] Infernal Droid - Let The Sin Begin [Karana] Far East Ghost - Rebellion [Triplag] Hefty Output - Smear Campaign [illuminati] Domateck - Beat The Beast [Magma] Ron G & Bagnats - Eat That [Psy-Core] Right-click, save-as to download: Ziptnf - Necromancy Tactics (91:56) 168MB ~256kbps
  12. Now THAT'S a unique psy track. I'm seeing a lot of recommendations that are more on the goa-side. I suppose that's not too surprising since goa was more prevalent than psy around that time. More psy-oriented tracks, please!
  13. Killer tracks. They are both awesome but I prefer the ECT one. Wowzers.
  14. I'm not talking the BEST oldschool psy track, I'm talking the one you heard once and never heard anything like it ever again. For me that honor would have to go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCZupCtCMZ8 Only the coolest, most interesting tracks you know of!
  15. I just made a new psystep mix the other day. In my opinion, this sound is the true epitome of psytrance+dubstep. http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/63116-ziptnf-heavy-gravity-psystep/
  16. The fusion of psytrance and dubstep is a very rare thing indeed, and it is even more rare to find high quality, proper sounding tracks. In contrast to my last psystep mix: http://www.psynews.o...psybreaks/, this one doesn't have such a goofy vibe, and I actually blend the tracks. It starts very tame; accessible to anyone who likes classic atmospheric dubstep. As the mix evolves, you will experience a deeper, more sinister trip. I'm super proud of this one. Ital Tek - Cyclical [Planet Mu] Coda - Pablo [Wonk#Ay] Gibson - Flooressence [Addictech] Bird of Prey - Stargazer [Cyberset] Bird of Prey & Chillax'n - Pipe Dream [Addictech] Phutureprimitive - Rapid Cognition [Native Harmonix] Audiovoid - Pantheon Of Absence [Addictech] Mindbuffer - The Grid [Enigmatik] S!lverFox - Breed (Bunkle Remix) [Wonk#Ay] Whitebear - Intangible [Enigmatik] Kosmic Wizard - Broken Monster [under Voice] Scamp - Frequency [Wonk#Ay] Cybernetika - Calling Mercurio [Ektoplazm] Enjoy! 17. A lot of people diss psytrance. I don't blame them, especially since the genre "full-on" has tainted the scene with an ocean of watered-down tracks, cookie-cutter basslines, boring melodies, and riffs with no energy. I thought I had divorced full-on, but I found my love again and dug as deep as I could for this mix. I've never played a mix with this much power behind it. When I finished spinning, I felt like my brain had exploded. This is my ultimate full-on mix, at the absolute maximum level of energy possible. I hope some of you are feeling brave. Dynalogic vs Stock - Dynastock [Wakyo] XSI - Alchemik Machine [Phantasm] Mad Maxx - Active Noize Control [Phantasm] Ejekt - Big Brother [Noya] Azax Syndrome vs Shift - How Do You Stop It (Remix) [Yabai] Toxic - Overdose [sonic Motion] B-55 - The Mess [Yabai] Kode Six - Tonight's Entertainment [Tzolkin] Krox - Uglatz [As] Dapanji vs Biogenisis - Static Move [beyond Logic] Bliss - Hard Kore [Yabai] Brainwash - Musical Experience [Fractal] Turn it up! 19. Trance will never die when producers are cranking out such magical tunes. These tracks are all fairly recent. I'm really pleased with how this one turned out. 20. We all know that most producers/DJ's in the psytrance scene are on facebook pages and have twitter accounts. Let's post some, shall we? Facebook Xerox & Illumination: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Xerox-Illumination/116462388660 Vibe Tribe: http://www.facebook.com/vibetribe Bizzare Contact: http://www.facebook.com/BizzareContactMusic (i've always found it funny that they spelled bizarre wrong ) Principles of Flight: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Principles-of-Flight/13085918395 Perfect Stranger: http://www.facebook.com/perfectlystrange Infected Mushroom: http://www.facebook.com/infectedmushroom Talamasca: http://www.facebook.com/talamasca.mind.control I don't know any twitter accounts. Bonus points for Google+ accounts!
  21. Goa? I find that genre makes no difference if a melody resounds in your heart.
  22. Awesome, dude. I appreciate the listens. I'm listening to your Collosus teaser right now. You don't even understand how pumped I am for this release.
  23. Life is indeed like that. I actually appreciated the idea of mood swings in this set more after I thought about it than my first impression. Emotional rollercoasters can be detrimental to the human psyche but it worked so very well here. There might be a slice of negativity in there but it was counterbalanced by something much more positive. I really liked it, mate.
  24. Why don't you just post the PDF here?
