  1. I was not talking about the other tracks. I mean no need to discuss :-)
  2. Check the last track of their latest compilation. ..and it's even a good one imo. nice melodies and a warm morning approach...
  3. I am talking about how things are actually working and not about wishes things should be. For the wishes I agree 10000% But as long as the download platforms are asking for flat fees just for the presence of tracks (and not only for comission in sales) there will be no chance to get whole back catalogs listed. The economic risk is way too high. That's why I thought the idea of Groove Zone is not that bad in putting up bestof tracks from their back catalog.
  4. I don't see the point here. There *are* imho enough guys out there asking for original quality (not mp3) willing to pay for it. files on p2p networks are just useless (except of the value of prelistening whole tracks) for me and i know i am not the only one. a good idea had been established by groove zone in releasing just the best tracks from older compilations in trackitdown. so no need to put in the whole back catalog in paying just for the presence of every single track.
  5. maybe etnica is loosing cause you are the only one thinking that etnica are making progressive trance?
  6. 12 month ago I could see that more and more labels were offering their stuff also through Beatport and Trackitdown. I could find lot's of brandnew and back catalog releases from well known and also smaller labels. I used it a lot and was very happy to refresh my collection with single tracks and not "fillers only" compilations. But what I see these days, that almost no new release is finding it's way into Beatport or Trackitdwon anymore. Would be curious why? Was it not succesful enough or is it the platforms taking so much commission that it it's not worth anymore to support this distribution channel? Any ideas?
  7. 1. artifakt (for his incredible production skills) 2. shift (for his creativity) 2. slug (for his melodies) 2. pitch hikers (slug and shift, so best of both) 3. hydraglyph (for their straightforward and very well produced sound) 5. twisted system (for their weird and still catchy stuff) 6. frozen ghost (for their perfect industrial style) 7. damage (for his techno style and for not sounding like any other sa artist)
  8. This can only be done with a prerecorded set not more not less. same what raja ram does sometimes with cd's...
  9. So many good points in your postings @krell :-) The thing with Traktor is easy: It has without any reason a very bad reputation and the so called DJ's spinning with cd's are bitching all the time about it, that only through word of mouth everybody "knows" that spinning with Traktor is: - pressing a button and let it run automatically - let the software beat match - let the software pitch bend - let the software find perfect transition points between tracks - let the software select the tracks - let the software find out the correct keys for combining two tracks harmonically - let the software set the loops and jump around within the same and/or other cued tracks - let the software do kind of live remixes - let the software mix with 3 or even 4 decks Somebody using Traktor or other DJ Software cannot be called a DJ!!!!!! And yes, all the CD DJ's out there just playing tracks in a row (that's what 95% of all DJ's do) are the real ones. They never write down the BPM values, beat matching has to be an art or let's say it is the most important art of a DJ Set. Ah and before i forget it: It is also way of uncool to play on 800's or 1000's because within these it is possible to adjust the tempo very accurate to make long transitions (or what ever). No the only accepeted tool to play is with the 100's. Because within these the real DJ can show another very important skill: Beeing able to pitch all the time! That's hand's on and not just pressing buttons on a midi controller. Real DJ'ing is starting *after* being able to beatmatch not within! That means I don't give a sh*it how somebody get's to the point of beat matching two tracks. The interesting is part is what does the Dj do then! Ah I cannot argue anymore with anybody bitching about Traktor DJ's. But funny enough this never happens with the organizers, cause they just ask for skilled sets with good music! They don't give a shit about the gear. It's only the DJ's complaining. And when asking them what do they know about Traktor in 100% of the cases they answer: I tried it out the other day for a couple of minutes to find out it is crap. Skilled guys, no doubt about it! Paul van Dyke or DJ Hell are bad DJ's then! Or the other way round: If somebody shows up with a laptop and Traktor and f*cks up the whole party cause of a really bad set, is it the bad software? It's all about skills doesn't matter what somebody is using! On a sidenote: In spinning with Ableton Live things are totally different. It is cool to use Ableton. Why? Because Ableton has a very good reputation. Nobody cares that it is not the perfect DJ tool: It needs a lot of preparation (with almost predefined sets) and is quite unhandy (from the visual point of view and from the dj perspective). just my experience and my two cents
  10. beatport works good for getting single tracks out of "fillers only" compilations. if there are more then 2-3 good tracks on one compilation then buying the physical cd is still my way to go. but with digital download stores i see a quality increase of psytrance music in the future. if the single track is the measurement and not the whole compilation, then succesful labels will have to release good stuff to make enough money. so i think we will have to wait some more time until the change of paradigm has been fully worked out and then we will get good choice and good music for good prices (at least i hope so).
  11. I cannot recommend any new comp, but for my feeling Frantic Noise and collaborations could fit for what you are looking for. Check the album "The Nordland Orchestra" and then especially Track 9&10. Track 10 is not from Frantic Noise himself (Shlowers - Helioboy) but this comes very close to the ibex track you mentioned. Check: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=5985 Would be curious what you think about this, as I am also searching for these darkpsy tracks with this late 80's early 90's gothic/industrial approach.
  12. i know from 1st hand that this guy is mixing with cdj's and yes he is imo one of the best dj's in south germany :-)
  13. Side-A very melodic warm and emotional (with lot's of analog and almost oldschool melodies but still progressive). funny enough that this guy (olivier cambier) just compiled "after hourz" a prog house release although his own tracks are definately not prog house. Check: Side-A - Synopsis 1.1 Side-A - Alter Ego hope this is what you are looking for.
  14. on their website they offer a preview for 3 tracks: Talamasca - My Destiny Space Cat - Fire Ball Talamasca - French Guy In Tokyo (Xsi Remix) can't help myself but it is long time ago that i heard such cheap kindergarden stuff. the cheapest and cheesiest melodies in universe served by two veterans of the scene used to be upfront in the older days (the xsi rmx makes the boring original track not better). but maybe in japan it has to be that way but psychedelic music is imo something different. and i didn't hear the whole thing so maybe the rest is better. would be curious about the sirius issness vs. cpu track for example.
  15. nice definition: "sharp aggressive jet melodic full-on trance" when reading this i thought we will get south africa influenced music - at least ;-) anyway samples are bringing me back to previous expectations about a new human blue album, can't wait for this one :-)
  16. 2006 Promo Mixset Artist/Dj: Fohat (Psylonauten), Germany Title: Guilty Pleasures Style: From Progressive Morning Trance into Light Morning Full-On Duration/Bitrate: 67:49 minutes, 192Kbps CBR Sources: Original CD's Download Link: Guilty Pleasures Demo Mixset About the mix: I got the inspiration for the title of this mix out of a topic, which has been discussed here lately. People should name their secret favourite artists or tracks they feel a little bit ashamed for and they never would speak about it. Intent of this mix is/was then to create something, which could attract also non progressive heads to show them the beautyness of progressive morning trance. People should get a smile into their face without noticing it. Challenge was then to find these melodic morning tracks not too cheesy but still transporting a lot of emotions just out of their melodies. In addition to this, this demo is my point of view of a Festival's daytime set. If this has been worked out can be judged now by downloading it. All comments are highly appreciated. Tracklist: 01. Intro by Dead can Dance 02. Frogacult - Whos Got The Dreamers Disease/That Day in December (Iboga) 04. Andromeda - Sensations (YSE) 05. Meller - Aurora (Vibrasphere Remix) (Tribal Vision Records) 06. Silicon Sound feat. Jaia - Oblivion (Exposure Productions) 07. Sync - 53er (Spintwist Records) 08. Natural Flow & Chromosome - Personal Visit (Domo Records) 09. Vaishiyas - Anything (Spintwist Records) 10. Andromeda - Atmonizer (Natural Flow rmx) (YSE) 11. Noktamid - Tuned Reference (Midijum Records) 12. Natural Flow - Flying Toaster (Groove Zone Records) 13. Side A - Altere Ego (Domo Records) My deep respect goes to all these artists creating these gems and giving me the possibilty to work with. Enjoy!
  17. except of one or two good moments this album is just boring. can't help myself but when two guys are throwing together all their samples which had their time years ago, i would not expect something new and fresh. secondly i have the impression that this album has been build up in a week or so. a lot of tracks seem to be unready. sounds and samples have been thrown together almost in random mode imo. np: good thing is that they uploaded their stuff on beatport so i could avoid buying the whole album just for one good track.
  18. heya tv keep up the good work. the occurance compilation is still in my heavy rotation, so really looking foward for your upcoming releases. can i find them in the future also at beatport? would love to :-)
  19. yeah this is exactly the style i want to hear nighttime. south african stuff rules. keep on rockin' man, very good mix :-)
  20. in munich you will not find any dedicated psyshop. it's not the biggest psycity in the world :-) but for parties it's not that bad you will find at least 1 party per weekend. for this i can recommend a nice outdoor party which will take place on saturday night outside of munich: http://www.goatrance.de/goabase/party/details/22341 the location is just perfect, weather will be warm/sunny and dj's are all good. pm me for directions if you are interested.

    V/A - Occurrance

brilliant compilation, brilliant review. couldn't find better words, all facts nailed. i had the same thoughts and feelings when listening to it. keep up the good work profane :-)
  22. coming back to topic: i bought it recently and have to say it is all in all pretty good. some great tunes, very good basslines and top notch production (artifakt mastering). but there also a bunch of decent tracks with annoying samples destroying a lot. would recommend it anyway, one of the better releases this year.
  23. beside of that this album is kind of a paradigm change for fungus funk (which obviously disappoints a lot of people here) i judge it it by what it is: a well balanced, powerful and straightforward release in which melodies are perfectly placed. as i never cared about his former dark style, for me this is fresh and unique music. i like this one a lot. fungus funk can count me in in the future and i really want it to be released now!!!!!
