  1. Yeah, damn there's music outside of psytrance that's good but obviously it needs a 10.2 system coz it's so much more advanced than psy (which is just 2). Instant gratification ftw.
  2. Complexity doesn't really mean much but I don't see the next level of complexity here. It is a very good track but people seem to be falling over themselves with the hype and hearing what's not there. I listened to the record carefully 3 times and the good stuff is very good, beautiful melodies and just overall very pleasant. When I listen to the whole album the bad stuff kills the mood so maybe that diminished my enjoyment of the whole thing. If everything was on the level of the really good tracks then we would have a contender. I do like the sound very much, finally the guitars are used properly in electronic music, they just blend in instead of sticking out and ruining everything. This album is worth buying and I hope they continue in the same vein because I can see the potential of the trippiest music ever.
  3. So far I don't really like either sleepwalker, elephant machine, some of I am a freak. The rest are great. I might buy it just for the good tracks but imho overall it's no shpongle.
  4. Few hits, few fillers, just like most other records. The hits are very sweet so give this one a listen.
  5. I always play whole albums so for most played it would be albums and not individual songs Most played albums would be the top psy-prog releases of the year. Interesting to see though what others have in their list.
  6. Well CBL and Asura are completely different so I guess you want two different sets Imho Asura/Entheogenic/Shpongle are the best psychill acts, for CBL and alike just go to Ultimae and pretty much everything from their own catalogue will sound like that. I think the best would be getting a hold of Fahrenheit Project cds to sample different acts. Here - http://www.discogs.com/label/Ultimae+Records p.s. anyone want to trade/sell me Entheogenic s/t?
  7. This double cd is awesome, some of the tracks just rip your soul apart, I love it.
  8. Tracks 5 and 7 Matenda co-wrote with Alex Joon, he should really dump that guy. Imho terrible beats and track 7 is unlistenable. Other than that the album is great, so I am eager to see what Matenda comes up with next (on his own please ).
  9. Wow! Just listening to the samples and wow! It reminds me of the BoC feel in some way, I love it! Now you gonna make me go out and buy a whole bunch of minimal techno...grrrrrr
  10. I have most of their releases but none of them are my favorite chill/ambient. I absolutely love that most of their CD packages are works of art and follow the same look. I think you have to be in proper mood to appreciate their stuff, some people are permanently in that mood and love the label and some are almost never in it and don't get what the fuss is all about.
  11. To me this album has a perfect progression (not just individual tracks). It starts off building up slowly, by the middle I experience a complete mind-shift, and then it fades (albeit with one last kick at the end). I would say middle is the meatiest part of this but overall it's a great album structure, just like what I want from my progress.
  12. Or like me they went and listened to samples and didn't like most of it. There was a couple of tracks that I did enjoy and I am still contemplating if I should get that CD. 6$ is a great price but still too much for just a couple tracks People should really go listen to samples and if they like buy these cds, when was the last time you saw music you like at that price? It might be worth it just for CD art
  13. I'm not gonna review it but I absolutely love this album, to me it's the strongest Iboga release this year. It's just soooo 'progressive'
  14. It's a good album, The Light absolutely kills but after 5 listens I still don't see it as anything groundbreaking. Stupid expectations So far I liked Gaudium better than this album so I am guessing this one would be second best from Iboga in my books. There wasn't much competition though, new Antix is not exactly the sound I am looking for, BBE was just terrible and SCS made a very solid album but I just can't remember any of it no matter how many times I listen to it (when I do sit through it it is an enjoyable experience). Let's see what I think after 5 more listens p.s. well I think the album starts strong and ends strong but sucks ass in between
  15. Not impressed It has awesome moments but overall it doesn't really get to me like most prog releases this year did. Will listen to it some more, the good parts are REALLY good.
  16. you wouldn't belive how many people have cats in their profile these day. it's spetacular! cats are nice. nice trend =)

  17. having a listen right this moment....so far so good
  18. Because common sense is winning Education works.
  19. They are never in the original recording in the first place. When a musician writes music they usually make something they can actually hear
  20. Jalebee Cartel - When We Fall
  21. There is nothing to discuss. If you mean low bass frequencies then as long as speaker can reproduce them you will feel them because of the physical vibration that your whole body will perceive (not just sound in ear). The thing is though that these frequencies will not be cut from properly compressed mp3s (you have to actually force the compressor to cut them, otherwise they will be left intact).
