  2. "Enthralled" starts off with a simple quiet piano-type melody, slowly evolving into a sweetly melancholy slow ambient track via squelchy and clicky percussion - kinda reminds me of ambient techno ala Autechre. There's a bass growl in this track that is appreciable, sounding like waves lapping on a shore. The big pads that come towards the end build to quite an intense climax. Super ambient track that is well structured, if somewhat simple. A- "Mysterious Thing" is just what it says on the tin - exotic ambience that reminds me a bit of Entheogenic. I like this track, though at times it verges on the generic. B "Visions of Touch" revs things up a bit in that it actually has a beat and is the outstanding track here, managing to be both chilled out and acidic, a winning combination. A "The Burning" has some sounds that have become generic for psychill - choirs, panpotted bass growls, swooshes etc. However, it also has a long voice sample about love that might well make this one of the few Goa tracks that is overtly romantic (it reminds me a bit of Boris Blenn's "the ultimate experience is love" sample from Galaxy's "Musication Celebration" on the Angel album). Is the romance here tantric-style or Romeo & Juliet type? I don't know, but even though I find the sample both intriguing and kitsch, this track is just a bit too cheesy for me. C I'm a big fan of RA, going right back to the 1997 "R.O.M./Azure Child" ep. I rate "To Sirius" very highly and "9th" is my favourite, but I also think "Earthcall" and "Unearthly" worthy works. This latest chill out ep from RA is solid, but I can't help feeling that it is just throat-clearing. The singing is yet to come. Let us hope we get another album soon. ~*~

  4. Nop, but I started a new one, I'm trying to develop my style I started a new one, even the bassline has an arp , I will remake the track Goa ufo and comet with my new skills I have to add more details to the tracks.
  5. Have you done any more to this? I'm interested to hear how it develops.
  6. i still listen to and adore Amen from 2003. So if this new album is anywhere close to that, I look forward to another 20 years of sonic bliss Ive watched all their clips from youtube shorts, and there are some very interesting tracks here, so its looking good! im kind of excited! even though its really hard to get excited these days, at 42 😅
  7. Yup, that's the case for me personally. Even if I consider the 2014 remixes album a real album, it's been 10 years since that release, the world is moving, people change, taste changes, and right now I couldn't care less of a new Astral Projection album. Great news for the fans though.
  8. I'm looking for this sample pack from Hujaboy. It seems like it doesn't exist on internet anymore. Does anyone have it?
  9. I understand your feelings, waiting for so many years could have ''break'' something for some people, have a great day.
  10. Well it's only been 20 years in the making with many announcements, hype is to much now, gonna take something spectacular to meet any expectations
  11. ohhh this is great news! I'm so happy to be back and get these news first hand. Astral Projection belongs to Goa Trance like Psynews does
  12. RA - Visions Altar Records - ARDEP79 Ever since Earthcall came out eight long years ago, to quote from this new EP I have had a Burning Love Desire for RA to release more music, so to say I was excited when I found out about it would be an understatement! This is a downtempo release in a similar sort of style to the stunning album Unearthly (which has recently been remastered- not sure how they could improve on perfection!). Whilst I would have to say this one is not RA's most complex material, as always it's impeccably produced, highly pleasurable and soothing to listen to and a solid addition to their catalog. According to the credits, the Visions EP is a solo work by Lars W. Lind. I believe this is the first release from RA without Christer Borge-Lunde's involvement, so it is an interesting chance to hear Lars' influence on the project in isolation. 1. Enthralled 6:49 2. Mysterious Thing 6:51 3. Visions Of Touch 6:27 4. The Burning 7:18 1. Enthralled A seriously mellow and chilled out opening track. The synths wash over you and seem to melt together in a delicious slow ambience. 7/10 2. Mysterious Thing "The soul understands what the mind cannot conceive." a voice whispers enigmatically. This track turns the tension up just a notch with a more exotic flavor. 7/10 3. Visions of Touch The textures on this title track are delectable to my ears and brain, especially with that bass. That texture of the sound evokes thoughts of the synesthesia suggested in the track title. It's more upbeat, even funky, compared to the opening tracks. At the halfway point we get intense layers of euphoric synths in a mesmerizing chord progression. Now we're talking! 9/10 4. The Burning This has a trippier feeling than some of the earlier tracks with a pulsating ethereal voice and layers of gorgeous soundscape. It's simultaneously mellow, ambient, upbeat and psychedelic, which is a great achievement in itself, I think. We get a female voiceover with an American accent about Burning Love Desire. The theme of love, desire and romance is nice and I believe a change from the more purely spiritual or philosophical wisdoms we get in RA's previous tracks. I'll let you be the judge of how well it works here I think. 8/10 All in all, a great and extremely relaxing release and I hope with all my heart that we will be hearing plenty more from RA in the years to come. 8/10 https://ra-altar-records.bandcamp.com/album/visions
  13. This time it's different, their Booking team (Sonic Booking) announced it also (they were listening to it just after Astral's post), Iboga team is also behind them and Avi's daughter helped them a lot to take this decision (she's started to play as a Dj in Israel too, etc...).

  17. Wellll, just to keep this thread still somewhat alive, Nightwish released a new song/video a few days ago. Epic, as expected of course (depending on your point of view). I just wish the vocals were a bit more upfront.
  18. Ah, that makes sense. Of course I have no idea how Beatport functions. And afaik Bandcamp has always had the lossless upload requirement (don't quote me on that one though) since they've always had the option for customers to get a lossless version (wav (and aiff?) download was enabled in 2015 iirc, before that lossless downloads were flac). I made a release with another project in early 2020 and the lossless requirement (almost) certainly was in effect then
  19. Now that I think about it, it may have been beatport, and not Bandcamp. But the rest remains the same.
  20. Okay. I suppose they changed that then? This happened in 2020 I believe so it's more than possible they've changed the way they do things since then.
  21. Well, the thing is, you can't do that (referring to the label owner here of course). The Bandcamp release editor doesn't even accept mp3s as explained on this help page. And if you convert your crap quality mp3s to wav to get around that, then all files in your release will be derived from those crap quality fake wavs. There's no way to set those crap quality files for streaming and the real quality files for download (unless of course you create another release with the real quality files which would be incredibly silly). Here's Bandcamp's answer to why to upload lossless files.
  22. Couldn't you revert back to where it said "Astralprojection and 5 others liked this" for example. That was a good system. Iirc it went away same time the "user level" went away. Spiraling vortex and all that stuff. Even though it was meaningless I kinda miss that
  23. What I mean is, they'd have very lossy versions that you can listen to for free. And when you buy the album you get the lossless version. The logic being that if it sounds too good for free, people won't buy the lossless version. Which ofc is very faulty logic but yes, that's what the label told the artist to do. Iiirc he wanted 96k bitrate mp3s for Bandcamp, and then lossless flac for when you buy it, also from Bandcamp ofc. Hope it's clearer now Anyway, I've seen that quite a few times, that the sound quality of the free streaming versions are very poor
