astralprojection Posted January 31 Posted January 31   I adore both Cosmosis and Filteria. Theyve made some of my favorite tracks. They are up there with the very best. And they seem to be great peoples. I really love them alot, but this record is just cheese ontop of cheese. Not sure what they were thinking, as they couldve made it a true classic. Albums like Cosmology and Daze of our lives are some of the very best the scene has ever heard. And this album is what they come up with? Nope, that doesnt work. Imagine filteria and cosmosis. Well, you dont have to imagine. Here we are. But its bad, its boring, its bland. Amazing that this is what we get when two legends, two artists I adore, make some music. heres the full album on youtube ULTRAVIBE - TRANSMITTER  i give it 2/5 peace Quote
GhostOnAcid Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I read the first post and i expect the worst. Then I take a first listen and must say this is solid work. Not a masterpiece. But its good. Its not innovative. Here and there you hear some tricks and ideas, which you can find in they previous work. I wish there were more new ideas and sounds. But i must more listen to it for a better opinion. I take it on my wishlist and i think i will buy it. Quote
Oopie Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Perhaps not cheesy but... lacks attention to detail. Sounds hastily composed.  Quote
astralprojection Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 my thing is not just the music but also the attention to detail as said by oopie. The sound quality is just not there, its not meticolous, its not all the way there simply put. Also the writing is again, hastily written. I dont get consumed by it what so ever, and everytime i listen to Cosmology or Daze, those details always gets me.. I can find the enjoyment of those details to last a lifetime.. Even if its just how a certain kick sound, or a certain hihat is mixed - those details will really carry it into oblivion. But here Im struggling to find such details if there even is any. Theres _ZERO_ hate coming from me here, only slight disappointment... ive been listening to Moonshine since 1998 and Filterias stuff ever since it came out, and its been 20+ years, you just expect more, thats all..... i mean no disrespect to either of them. I just want them to know that I expected more. And thats YOUR fault. Youve already set the bar - how can you go down from that?  Quote
Urban Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I enjoy this combined project throughout and I can play it from start to finish. For the time being my favorite is probably Liquid Love, but I will have to listen to it more times. I have to say this I feel like the predominant of this album is the Filteria style of sound with traces of Cosmosis. It does not beat any of the artists best albums - Daze of Our Lives, Cosmology, Synergy. The best way I can describe how it sounds to my ears is a mix of Filteria's Lost in the WIld mixed with Cosmosis - Psychedelica Melodica, which is not a bad thing! Highly recommended for fans of ether artist. 1 Quote
astralprojection Posted September 5 Author Posted September 5 comon guys  Filteria Cosmosis  you would be ALL UP IN THIS. kinda bland and boring, no? kinda WTF? 😕 or is it just me? to me this is generic trash that should never have been published. Which saddens me and makes me go WTF. because theres no bigger Filteria and Cosmosis fan than me.. how can this be so bad?? like how?! Quote
Tsotsi Posted Friday at 10:33 AM Posted Friday at 10:33 AM I didn't hate it. But I'd bet your expectations vs reality knocked them down at least 1 point. Didn't dislike any of the sounds they used, flow was fine. But the low end is what gives it that generic kind of feel. I also sometimes forget artists probably like to f around and have fun. Not taking every release as seriously as the fans. For me this is like religion, for them they probs smoked a doob, turned on a moog and started pressing buttons. Quote
acid being Posted Saturday at 08:41 PM Posted Saturday at 08:41 PM It sounds ...OK. Just OK. I enjoyed the tracks Squelch, Electrosurge and Transmitter mainly for the acid lines and the layering and would give those tracks about 6/10. I get what you mean about it sounding generic. That can be a problem for a lot of new Goa but these guys should probably know better. It could do with a bit more variety from track to track and a few more surprises but maybe that is not what they were going for. I must admit the opening track was my least favorite as I got a bit bored until I skipped to the climax which was better. I am not disappointed because I am still not really a Filteria or Cosmosis fan. If RA released something like this I would be bawling my eyes out! I did not mind listening to the whole thing, there were enough good bits to entertain me. 4.5/10 1 Quote

Hearing something revolutionary from these two would have been nice, but often we hear one revolutionary first album and next one's are more iterative. I defs get a bit more annoyed at psytrance team ups that are completely unnecessary and achieve nothing. Like when 2 artists get together and produce a boring prog track with almost nothing going on. I give Goa a pass, but also because even generic Goa I don't find that boring. Quote
astralprojection Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago so basically "let them cook" 😛 i just have to realign my expectations a bit. and realise their peak has been over and done with, whatever comes next is not gonna top it. i suppose thats the same with AP also. Quote
