qa2pir Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I like the melodies and overall style. It reminds me a bit of Hallucinogen indeed. It's pretty non-dynamic, amplitude wise, probably due to rough mastering, which prevents me from digging it as much as I could. Quote
healium Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I really like parts of this album, "Ball of Gum" is fantastic! Much of it though is very rough and annoying to my ears - I don't like jarring and scratchy and otherwise unpleasant sounds - I love weird techno type sounds don't get me wrong, but much of this album I find abrasive to listen to.. Ball of gum indeed is one of the outstanding tracks of 2008 along with Dumble my Humble! Sounds rough and abrasive? you need to listen to this on a huge rig outdoors mate , then you'll know exactly what this album is about. not jarring and unpleasant at all The composition on this album flows like an orchestra filled with all kinds of sounds , effects , frequencies and melodies. The bass and treble components are just so perfectly matched. A true psychedelic album IMO :clapping: :drama: Quote
GusSarcoffa Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Post your impressions after you listen to the actual cd No change in my opinion. Still like it a lot, still don't get the Hallucinogen comparisons at all. Quote
Laserflip Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 I think the basslines are simialar like the ones from him in 2004 and maybe because of some vocal "glitches". Quote
acid being Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago https://demontearecordings.bandcamp.com/album/highlight-me-please This is a fantastic album. A real gem. And yeah I see what people mean when they say it sounds like Hallucinogen. Because it does, a bit. Similar sort of grooves and energy and just like Posford's work it sounds very original and quite distinct from your typical psytrance or Goa tracks. It also reminds me a little bit of M Run with all the wild crazy sounds. Really cool. 9/10 Quote
