You mean Socially Inept? I've got it. I like it. :D I also really like Machine Drum's album, Urban Biology.

No, actually he means YOU SHALL HAVE EVER BEEN.. Nice one has some very nice tracks.

Also check the new 2007 Ab Ovo , titled MOUVEMENTS...

As Nick already said,

http://www.discogs.com/release/809068.

Amazing release.Double CD.You can't ask for more.

Sweet. Thanks.

Helium - Maybe a good way to hear the music is to sign up with Beatport or something like that (eMusic is also half-decent). Very cheap. Lets you download individual tracks or entire albums legally, for a price. Then if you don't like the album enough to buy it, at least you might have some interesting MP3s, which you can then convert to WAV and have on CD for the car and such. Also, most label and artist sites have downloadable samples.

Why is it that when I go sampling other types of modern electronic music I keep tripping over weird-ass incomprehensible breakcore or willowy click-prone elevator ambient? I guess I just need to keep trying... and in the meantime, smirk at the bizarre stuff I have come across while randomly sifting through Discogs.

Maybe you should try checking some of the stuff that is recommended in topics like this or the IDM one ?

Found another outstanding (well, imho...) release: Tri-Force - Entrance To Reality. I've bought this CD quite some time ago and I've sort of re-discovered it today. It's melody but not full-on, more trancey but still psychedelic with nice melody layers and percussions.

I see you started listening to trance in 2001, there are no releases before 2001. :D

Actually I started listening to psytrance in 2002. Before that I was listening to house, techno, drum n bass, and epic trance. I have some releases from 2001 That were still rather new when I started listening to psy in 2002. B)

I saw this the other day. It looked a bit weak. How is it actually?

Actually I shrugged it off also when it first came out. But some how my freind always picks out the good ones even when you think it might be bad. So I listened to it at his house first. I liked it immediately. The first track is by doof, and it is so out there and spacey and eerie towards the middle. That track alone for me would be enough to buy the cd. I dont know or not if any of these tracks have been previoiusly released. Many of the artists are old schoolers here as im sure you saw. This sounds alot like goa more than full on to me. Astral projection, man with no name, and bullet proof are a few on here. B)

I'm sure I remember thinking I had half the tracks on it!

You probably do. There is no way that these tracks are new. I think that Tipworld just threw together a bunch of old tracks and made an album, and then called it Love To Japan. Good marketing scheme. B)

WTF ? Are you insane ? :D

There is not even a hint of it, what are you tripping ?

Goa trance is just a name anyway ...

Still, there are quite a few melodies influenced by old psychedelic trance.Like in every VAC release.

I think this one though has the most.In a Tim-Schuldt-style-of-psychedelia.

My favorite stuff is the older Koxbox/Hux Flux/IM/Sandman/X-Dream anyway - the pre-2002 releases mainly.... Older Autechre, Plaid, Jean Michael-Jarre too...

Then his new album 'Teo And Tea' is for you!Pure electronic stuff, great melodies and unique style from a true legend.Search for samples if you haven't done it already.Release date '26 March'.A cd that i'm going to buy for sure.

I'm a long time fan of Jarre's old stuff but this new one sounds very crappy.... only one track sounded good: Chatterbox IMHO the rest was shit!

I don't see it at all, dunno why, but I cannot hear any of those influences in this album particularly, I agree about their other releases but Lust For Blood mostly sounds like Front Line Assembly to me, can't hear Schuldt type of psychedelia at all...
