Nine New "Old" Tracks At 320kb

I was digging through my music folder and realized I had a bunch of tracks that have been just laying around. I still play a number of them live quite often, but they have all been phased out of "release" potential for various reasons or were simply experiments so I figured it was time to share, so here they are at full 320kb.

The tracks are listed newest to oldest, with most of them being from 2004. A couple of these have been posted here last year, but at a much lower bitrate so.... Enjoy ;)

The most recent here. This was going to be on my upon coming album, but sonically it doesn't quite fit the overall sound-scape that is developing there so here it is.

This was made after I went to a party and was lamenting that none of the tracks have REALLY big long breaks and build ups anymore, nor much tribal percussion. The break here explains it all.

This was the last track I finished before relocating to Japan. It came about after a conversation with a label owner who said that old school sounds just don't have any power anymore (which I obviously disagreed with)

This was one of the first tracks I made after switching to Cubase SX and the first with my Nord Lead.

Another early Cubase SX track and the first I made after buying Albino. I also played around with some odd time sig.s here with the 5/4 section in the middle.

This one was my first track after buying Reaktor and my first with Cubase SX as well. I was trying to mix some newer crazy sounds in the first half with some old school big melodies in the second. It also has some weird rythmic stuff going on as the clean shamisen type melody in the break is in 6/4 time while everything else is 4/4.

The first and only track I even made on Cubase VST 5 (upgraded to SX right when I bought it and made this while I was waiting for the CD for SX to arrive). This was an experiment in making a minimal type track. Almost everything besides the drums were done with Absynth.

This was the first track I made after getting Absynth and the last I made with Fruityloops. Most of the synths were made with Absynth while the screaming leads were a Korg Electribe.

This track took me hands down the longest to write. I started it back in 2001 when I was still using all hardware. Then it sat around for a year or so until I finally went back and recorded all the main parts into my computer and got it about 70% done. Then it sat around for close to another year until I managed to finally finish it in early 2004. Listening to it now, its a lot better than I remember.

You know that melody from the end of "Madness" has played in my head like a year now  damn you! :D

Yeah, I've made the mistake of listening to that track just before going to work a few times myself and all day that melody keeps going round and round...

glad to see I'm not the only one

But really that's achievement! Not usually any psy-melody plays in my head :)

But that one does it, too well actually! :)

I wouldn't say I'm a "pro" as I've only been on one release so far so don't get too worked up :P Some of the tracks are better than others, but that's only natural as they were made over a period of 2 and a half years or so...
