  1. abasio, did you get the original futuristic poetry? I'd give a LOT for that one =/ (but not the £100 of the discogs seller)
  2. The Jam & Spoon mix isn't all that easy to find on CD, so a digital-only Jam & Spoon collector would probably fit the bill, but still... 50? wow.
  3. Astro Cortex, how are the Hidden releases? Any samples anywhere?
  4. If you change CDs to records, I'm at about one per day. It's slowed down recently though as I moved to a new place with much higher rent, bought lots of new furniture and bought a new 24" monitor. But normally about a record per day, yeah.
  5. I hope it works out =) The full 4CD box is one of the most important records in my collection.
  6. 1994: Dragonfly. 1995: Must be TIP... Yellow, Orange, and look at the singles... While 1996 was a huge year for Etnica, It's also the year Transwave released TWO albums. 1997: Maybe Dragonfly again: I.F.O., UX album, Shakta album... Somewhere in the early 00's, there was GMS albums, compilation appearances and heaps of unwarranted hype everywhere.
  7. In one way I can sort of see what you mean, but in my opinion Steve Roach does this kind of cosmic ambient better than anyone else, and I find a depth in his music way beyond the new-agey drivel usually associated with these sorts of sounds. It's not just big chords through a really expensive reverb; there is intelligent thought and purpose behind everything. The more I listen to his music, the more am in awe of his genious. But as with all genres, it can take a while to develop the appropriate set of ears; You can't listen to this the same way as you would listen to shpongle, it won't make sense that way. Maybe it would be better for the beginner Roach listener to try some of his rhythmic stuff... I would suggest Core as starting point, and then see if the purely atmospheric stuff makes more sense in that contex.
  8. well duh, it's ambient =) I guess you could theoretically get a headache from it if you played it at full blast (but then again that goes for pretty much anything); this is obviously music for low volume listening. Think of it as audio insence.
  9. a headache? You have GOT to be kidding me? It's among the most subtle music ever created in the history of mankind!
  10. You psychill kids don't know what you're missing =) It's a tough choice, near impossible in fact, but I'd like to nominate this: http://www.discogs.com/release/205127 For a single track I must say "Living The Dream" off of this one is totally amazing: http://www.discogs.com/release/237164 ...however as a whole that album is slightly uneven, as refleced by the votes. But track 2... oh my.

  12. Someone really ought to let me compile some oldschool reissue comps =)
  13. Well, see it this way; if you have a monthly records budget of $500 (not too far-fetched - I've spent way more some months, but my new place costs more so I'm cutting down to about 300), then you can argue $266 is just 2-3 weeks worth of records. In that perspective, it's totally worth it for a record like that.
  14. Been too long since I listened to it, but I apparantly gave it a 4 out of 5: http://www.discogs.com/release/214760 I remember liking this track but can't remember what it's like, so I guess it's time to give it another spin... like about a thousand other records.
  15. Not only is the price a total joke, but the condition of the records seems to be utter shit. The seller is delusional.
  16. The quest for those moments is largely my raison d'être. Music, ingested in the proper amount/blend/timing, is a direct path to pure emotions. Apart from drugs, that path is the most open and efficient one there is. With this in mind, some music, 95% of todays "psy trance" releases for example, make absolutely zero sense. Almost noone is shooting for that path any more.
  17. A lot of the early Symbiosis releases had that sleeve; 001 had a custom sleeve with black & white fractals, and some of the early ones came in plain black sleeves. I think the oldest one I have with the eye design is Technossomy - Timepiece. But then I could have a second pressing edition of 002/003/004, and the original pressing had the eye... I don't know. They changed to a yellow sleeve with SYMB012. SYMB011 was only released with the plain black one as far as I know. BTW my SYMB010 has the artist & titles handwritten too, and I bought it like that in 96. Some of their other releases have printed stickers with the info though.
  18. I'd say check out the first Order Odonata compilation, and then explore the artists you like on that one.
  19. ...on CD, you mean? If you want the vinyl there is one for sale on Discogs right now for a very reasonable 6.99. I have this record and must say "Arsenic" is the better track... It's a slow "Ulysse Voyage 2"-style track with faaaat riffs.
  20. Both the label and the distributor have ceased to exist, so it's very hard to find now. Also, it's a little too new to appear on ebay frequently.
  21. Where did you find this? (I'm aware of the one on ebay now, but both me and my gf want it)
  22. Well, to some extent that may be true, but the first 3 tracks on "Live" are among the best "uplifting" goa trance tracks of all time - in these versions, I might add. That alone makes the CD worth a LOT of money. And for someone like me, who's been after this very CD since 1996 (10 years now... seriously) it would be a real milestone to finally get it. But I predict this one will sell for the equivalent of about €150, and I can say right now that I won't top that.
  23. Ah, but that one isn't due for another 8 days.
