  1. Even back ni the days tracks showed up with all sorts of mastering... Subcouds "Greenflow" is supposed to have the first few bars after the kick lowered by 3dB so that it the kicks in properly when you think it's allready at full steam. On some compilations, this has apparantly been seen as some sort of flaw by the guy in charge of mastering, and the entire track has been compressed up to push the first few bars up to the others, effectively killing the dynamics of the track. On the other hand, Sheyba - "Ganesh" sounds much better and fatter in the remastering it recieved for Destination Goa 1, compared to the Substance CD release of Boyd In the Void, which was its original CD appearance. The smattering percussion in the intro is like 3dB higher in the remastering, which is very nice - I love those sounds =)
  2. Dude, what the fuck is that about? My post was to vent my disagreement with your unreserved praise for a group that I personally don't feel all that imperssed by. And to that you reply with something I can only read as an insinuation that my opinions are worthless because I'm friends with Jannis? Seeing as this isn't the first time you carelessly rip through the fabric of logic, I feel obliged to ask - Are you at all able to contribute any facts or insightful comments to a music discussion, or is it by any chance your mission in life to misinterpret, exaggerate, spread disinformation and slag off everything your puny mind cannot grasp? I've done my best to ignore your annoying lack of reason, but dude - if you can't handle an opinion that differs from yours without stooping to personal attacks, get off the forum.
  3. 10 euro plus shipping, or you can give me a list of items you'd be willing to trade for it and I will see if I find anything I want.
  4. ' I said 97 or later so you do fall into that category...

    Ott

He dabbled in goa trance under the moniker Eco along with some other bloke, but musically that stuff has nothing in common with the Ott releases. If I remember corerctly he works as some sort of a studio technician, so most of his musical work is of technical nature.
  6. Jannis is a friend of mine and I help him out with ideas, kick drums and mastering on occasion. So thats why I get to hear the new stuff. As for the track on this compilation, it sounds dfferent from his album since it's a cooperation with another artist and it's not made in his studio.
  7. His new stuff kicks total ass! And now it has fatter kicks and bass, hehe =)
  8. gee, thanks for the info, Captain Obvious!
  9. Bought records, naturally. If you're getting lots of promos from labels then I think it's fair to count them too, as they're no less "real records". What I do object to is counting MP3s and CD copies. What did you "vote" btw?
  10. Thanks! I don't have any up-to-date dj sets recorded (well the term up-to-date is a bit awkward for someone spinning oldschool music, such as myself...) but I hope to get that sorted soon-ish. It's jsut that for every concievable set theme, there is at least one crucial track that I only have on CD and I don't have pitchable CD decks. So everything keeps getting postponed... I really need to buy myself a set of DJ CD players. As for hearing me at a party, your best chances are coming to Stockholm this summer. The only booking outside of Sweden that I've had, got cancelled.
  11. I'm with Basilisk and Spindrift. If a promoter that promised me payment fails to reach break-even, there is absolutely no logic in having their failure crashing down on me. I did my part, I expect that the agreement is to be fulfilled from the promoters side as well. I have two free gigs booked for this summer, so I'm certainly not in it for the money. I could never dream of having the DJ'ing pay my record expenses, there's no way I'll ever catch up there. So if you see it from that standpoint, I lose money... but I would be buying all these records even if I wasn't DJ'ing, so... =) The reason I want money for DJ'ing and not just travel expenses covered, is that I play original records, and often they're vinyl. Since I also play oldschool stuff, I'm literally carrying rarities around, and to drag these as-good-as-impossible-to-find records out into the wilderness is a risky endeavour. I expect to be compensated for that. (Although I do make exceptions, such as the two free parties this summer). I have sworn not to take gigs for the money alone, since I feel that it's against the whole spirit of the trance dance party experience. I need to be emotionally involved to play a good set. More of my thoughs on this can be found on http://ukiro.com for those who care.
  12. Get the vinyl, it's sooooo nice to have that awesome artwork in full size... And the vinyl pressing is F-A-T!
  13. I know very well what I'm "missing", rest assured =)
  14. I have the original vinyl for sale: http://www.discogs.com/release/94018 Contact me if interested. Also open for trades.
  15. I've heard them live twice, couldn't stand it either time, had to leave. Bores me to death. Admittedly, I just have two singles from them (the Acid Casualties ones) but judging by those they're very far from pleasing my ears. To each his own ofcourse, this is just my opinion...
  16. weren't you at 1300-something just a few weeks ago? Damn, man... you're closing in =)
  17. ok now that you said that I just had to take a picture:
  18. He's been busy being a moderator on Discogs, and he has now become one of the chosen few who are editors. I think they are like 13 in total. So he's sort of a key figure there. I'll see if I can talk him into joining this forum though, he's got about 100 records to pick at my place anyway =)
  19. Not jsut 3000, but 3700, and as I said he has like 1000 more that those listed on Discogs. He has more than twice as many records as I do, and I have many. He's not even halfway to the craziest collections on Discogs though, but I just mentioned him as an example of someone who can dwarf my collection.
  20. Åke Stormbringer Storm, a good friend of mine with an insane amount of records even by my standards. He's got about 1000 additional ones that aren't in Discogs, as well.
  21. haha! naaah, we just have to get Åke in here...
