  1. my home studio has been expanding a bit over the last year and now i need a usb mixer/pre-amp/sound card (i think?!?). basically i want a mixer that has inputs for 2mics & some synths (i have two at the moment but planing on getting some more). also wound like to have control over the eq of each input on the mixer and have some fx like reverb. from the mixer i want want to go into the computer (Via usb) so i can record in, then i want the sound from my computer to run out to the mixer then my speakers. just wondering what options i have and what people wound recommend?
  2. mmmmmm i can hear the sound so crystal clear
  3. anyone use vb-1 on a mac?? i cant seem to get it working in cubase but maybe thats a good thing, but im still interested i having a look at it
  4. i start with my kick loop it over a 16th note. get it sounding nice, then i add the bass. come up with a funky bass line. i like k-b-k-b- sound then add some more bass later in the track like k-b-k-b-k-b-k-bb or k-b-k-bbk-b-k-bb. i like it clear and simple(only coz when i make a full-on sound im never happy with it). get the bass sounding perfect eq it etc. but dont listen to it for to long work in short burst with the bass other wise you will end up hating it. next i come up with the snare and hi-hats. from there its time to get some lead sounds in. thats when i start to have trouble. i play around with this for a long time till i get some loops that sound cool together then i arrange them and slowly bring the leads in in different ways. i usally get this far then end up hating it and move on to a new song. i realy should go back and finish all those songs....
  5. ive been looking in to 8-bit music & psytrance since i heard artax - castle of 8 blissed bits http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=41326513 you can get a gameboy emulator for your computer then get nanoloop or one called lsdj. the controls freaked out a bit but it did work. there is also a nanoloop style vst (haven't tryed it yet). if you have a gameboy with nanoloop on it you can sync it with other games boys, hook it up to speak n spells etc. also i think there is a midi controller hack for it now that allows you to hook up your gameboy to your keyboard for better control. check out people like nullsleep on youtube.

  7. after mucking round with making beats for about 5years now i got my self a xiosynth a year ago (mainly coz my sound card was stuffed in my laptop) & it has changed the way i make music now. dont get me wrong i got by with out one. but now i can 'jam' along to my beats to come up with cool new stuff but the best thing i like about them is being able to tweak n record the automation as it plays along instead of having to write in the automation by hand.
  8. so im thinking about buying a nord lead 2x just want to get some opinions about it first. im into makin psytrance music and was looking at a access virus but its way to expensive!

    gms track

anyone know this track from the gms web site?? http://www.gms-music.com/Site/index.html track 5 on the side. sounds old because its a good track :posford:
  17. so what has happened to the artists i use to love?? a good example is GMS. back around 2002 and early i used to love there tracks. going out doofin & hearing there tracks cranking over the sound systems. but theses days i really dont like any of there new music. in fact i haven't brought a gms song or cd in years. have they become just another sell out club act in ibiza and forgotten about all that great music that they help pioneer?? sesto sento is another group that no longer catch my ear. There album "the bright side" was a fantastic album but there latest songs realy just dont do it for me anymore. astrix is probably one of the only older artists (from back in my early days of psy) that i still enjoy :posford: . is it just my taste in psymusic or have these artists lost there touch in producing killer tracks??
  18. nice set mate. realy like the tracks in the first half some killers there. :posford:

  21. if your using an intel mac go logic 8. thay have half the price since logic 7 and its well in the budget now. i use cubase studio 4 and are not a big fan at all. if your using a pc go cubase 4. it supports exteral instruments and effects unlike studio 4 (and u dont have to deal with a manual writen for a different version).
  22. totaly agree. this album is bad. it sounds like its been made in two days, no effort has been put into sound production and quality.
  23. ok so i need some help. i have a mac dual pro, and are running cubase studio 4 on it. i downloaded the vb-1 vst from the steinberg web site to try but when i place the vb-1 plugin into my plugin's folder and update vst connections in cubase it does not reconize it. just wounder if anyone has got vb-1 running on there mac dual proc in cubase? and could help me out with this problem
