  1. ollie from space tribe first introduced my mate & i to cubase. but back then it was way to advanced for use so we started with reason. now i use cubase & quite a few people i know do the same, spliffun, taya, strayan, electroholics. most people i know using Cubase are using PC's. Personal i use a Mac. the reason i use Cubase is because i wanted a program to recorded vocals with as well as producing music. i had a PC at the time & decided to buy Cubase. after i brought it my PC was so old n slow that Cubase just wouldn't run on it so i went & brought a Mac. i probley would have brought Logic if i had known i was going to buy a Mac but im happy with Cubase now & will keep using it for music.
  2. cool thanks heaps mate. just another quick question. in the 'glide' section on the albino there is some numbers u can increase & decrease. i see u have urs set on seven. im just wondering what that is for?? i had a muck around with them but couldn't seem to hear any difference when the glide is set to 'on'
  3. Mi-Sex - Computer Games my best friends dad was the vocalist for mi-sex
  4. thanks mate. i ment the glide function. dont know why i called it slide. i dont have vanguard. i use albino 3 & absynth 4 for my basses. but ill have a muck around today with what u suggested n see what i can come up with.
  5. just wanting to know how to get that bass sound u hear in lots of breakdown sections of psytrance. its sound to me like a slide bass. example here is an example. the song is 'analyzer - fluffy' plus i added a bit of the the track 'eskimo - nothings good enough' at about 35 second u can hear the sound im talking about. are they using the slide function or is there another way of doing it??
  6. just discovered this plug-in today. sylenth 1 along with this little tutorial for making a bass sound with it. Bass Tutorial
  7. definitely get albino 3. u can use it for psy basses & pads. also suggest absynth 4 if u want something with a heap of nice bass presets. i also like to use blue for melodies & pads.
  8. just been looking at a pair of RK RP5G2 Rokit G2 Powered 2-Way Active Monitor. ive heard them before but with a bigger tweater on a home made home entertainment system & i thought they were rather impressive. but i was wondering if any one owns a pair of the monitors & what there thoughts are on them??
  9. hay im having trouble rewiring reason 3 through cubase le 4 on my friends computer. i had the same problem when i tyred 4 the first time on my computer but i am using cubase studio 4. but i cant remember how i fixed it. i updated her le version to 4.1.2 & updated reason to 3.0.5 i open cubase & wait till it starts, then open up reason. but when i go up 2 devices in cubase there is no "reason rewire" so i cant rewire it. anyone know whats wrong?? the computer is a intel mac using tiger
  10. im looking 4 people that are into producing other types of music besides psytrance. ive been mucking round with music making for a few years now. i used to try and make psytrance but just seemed not to be able to get anywhere with it. so i decided to start experimenting with different sounds & styles. psytrance has influenced me a lot & still does today. ive tryed to make psytrance tracks since but find that making music over 136bpm just sounds way to fast for me (but i still love listening to it). id like to hear what other people are making so post some links to your work. u can listen to what ive been mucking around with on myspace www.myspace.com/digitalsidefx
  11. ive used cubase to record vocals & guitar. for the vocals i used a a mic & ran it through my xio-synth. the sound was really good. for the guitar i used a zoom fx peddle connect to the computer via usb. i dont think using a midi cable will work because midi cable's dont carry sound, they just carry data. (from my understanding) the only way i see you can record ur guitar is throught the RCA inputs on the m-audio. unless your guitar pre-amp can connect direct to the computer via usb or something.
  12. just wondering how you add a dual filter to the entire track & still be able to automate it in cubase studio 4. i know you can put it on the master stereo track as an insert but i cant add automation to the filter setting if i do it that way.
  13. its all good i finally got it working. i just updated to v4.0.5 then turned off abysnth4 5.1 in the vst plugin info. the key was updating to 4.0.5
  14. mmm still having the same problem. i updated it to 4.01 but the problem is still happening. when i load it i cant choose the amount of channels i use. it just automatically sets it to 5.1
  15. im using cubase studio 4. i set up an vst instrument & open absynth 4. it all works fine. but when i save the project, close it, then reopen it i get this error msg VST Mixer Warnings (30/11/2008) =============================== This mixer configuration expected "Absynth 4" to have Output 1: Stereo, -> The instrument currently has Output 1: 5.1, -> Change the instrument configuration before reloading this setup without saving the project. -> Non-matching mixer channels will be removed! =============================== i have no idea how to change absynth from 5.1 to stereo can someone please help me :-)
  16. i use cubase studio 4 on a mac. i have ablton live but dont really know how to use it... very interested in doing something like this. sounds fun & a good way of getting ideas of how other people write music
  17. i suggest using something from rob papen like albino or blue. they have great pad presets. try just paying a few long cords. you could also use something like db glitch to create a bit more effect on the sound. as for the "laundry machine" sound? are you talking about white noise or something??
  18. got myself a pair of senneisher hd 25-1 II. there so nice sound is awsome!!
  19. try putting less sounds in your songs!! simplify
