  1. I bought that CD, back in 1995 iirc. I was at either an HMV or Tower in Yokohama, and looking through their "Techno" section, looking for any gem... and I found one. Juno Reactor's Lu.ci-ana. I promptly bought it, ran outside to open it and put it in my discman, only to discover that no CD was inside. So I walked back inside and congratulated them on their brilliant money making scheme of charging money for empty CD cases. The clerk looked at me, oddly, and I explained that the CD I just bought actually had no CD. He offered an immediate refund, but I declined. I wanted that CD. So I gave him my contact info, the empty CD case, and waited for a month. FINALLY, I had Lu.ci-ana. I listened to it for about 3 minutes, and realized that this is something meant for AFTER a party, as I'm heading to sleep while TRYING to actually sleep. Listening with that in mind, at at the right mindset, it is an amazing experience.
  2. Aloha Colin! Thank you for all of your brilliant tracks over the years. Also, GZ Psynews. I've lurked in your reviews for years and years, 15 years of lurking was long enough. It was time to contribute, at least with some sardonic comments.
  3. Yeah, this is very, very good stuff. I'm 17 minutes into it, and I'm going to have a session so these sounds can massage my consciousness into a state to warm bliss.
  4. I love this tempo Goa. I always looked forward to the last track on a Goa CD, as it was usually the downtempo piece. I know the music, but haven't heard your mix yet... I'll check out your mix later tonight, after dinner, with electric sheep running for my eyes.
  5. Wow... Nice choices. By the way, nice to meet another geezer.
  6. Thank you I'm using a cheap ASUS one, but it's been a beast. My Sony's all crapped out after a while and had issues ripping.
  7. Well, one extra one, kept in the packaging, might be something to have on hand... just 'in case'. Also, make & model, please I wouldn't mind having a good backup when the one in this desktop eventually goes tits up.
  8. Sort of. I can't play it seriously when I'm on a wireless connection, and my desktop is now connected wirelessly. Also, Blizzard has a nearly 1 minute (or used to have.. not sure if they fixed it) window of when you lose connectivity and you character is removed from the game. When one of the glitches happened a couple years ago (the invulnerable wizard glitch), I was playing hard core with a monk... the servers go so unstable from everyone coming in to play their wizards that I ended up getting lagged out... with no monsters near me and a henchman by my side. When I could log back in, character was dead. So, Diablo III has a very fuct style of hardcore, and I don't really trust it. In Hellgate: London I played Hard Core Elite, and got a few characters to maximum level... including a Blademaster (no easy task in HCE). But Hellgate would disconnect your game if you had a network issue. There were plenty of legitimate deaths, but not nearly as many "death by lag" issues that D3 has.
  9. There is a transwavy quality to the sound. What's your favorite synth in Reason?
  10. I just realized they switched the bonus for both Zunimassa's and Aughilds. So now I have to craft an Aughild chest piece and roll it until I get 15% fetish army damage... Oh, nevermind. The ring fixes that. All good. It's been a while for me When Paragon was first introduced, before they nerfed the hell out of it and made it easy, I got a Witch Doctor and Wizard to paragon 100, a Barbarian to paragon 70 something, and a Monk into the 60's. Then they nerfed it and made paragon account wide and made the XP a lot easier to get. After greater rifts were introduced, I pretty much quit the game when I realized that the only thing left to do was go deeper into the rifts (I think I got to level 37 or so in a GR). So, a couple years later, and it's 2016. So a lot has changed. I'll play until I get burned out (again).

  12. Sent request, will be from Mbwun#1780
  13. I dodged that bullet, but got "bed wetting" until the age of 8. I'm absolutely convinced that the cuteness factor with children is an evolutionary trait that saves their lives.
  14. Thank you. I've always found that a journey is the most important aspect of a mix. One could simply line up killer tracks and mix them together, but it is better to find a narrative, and then find the tracks that fit that narrative, and THEN mix. At least, for me, that has been the way. A bit of back story... in the later mid-90's, there was an Israeli DJ. He would bring the most amazing trance from Israel to Japan... but his mixes were brutal (in a bad way). He really inspired me to make smooth mixes with a story. As, for me, there was no greater sin (at that exact time, on 500+ micrograms + 230 milligrams) than a bad mix. He kept blowing my mind with the music, and then taking me right out of it as he would bring in something else from 145 bpm to 138 bpm... bass drums going off in all the wrong places, etc... and then looking up at him from my broken hypnosis to see him shrug his shoulders and continue forward. He was the greatest inspiration I've ever had.
  15. I tend to play one game at a time. Recently it's been Bloodborne, but after rebuilding my main desktop (for music & gaming), I started back in with Diablo III. I quit D3 ages ago as I had done everything 100x over, but so much has changed that I'll probably be spending some time in it again.
  16. I think you mean when I mix in Thorazine... and yes, I filtered out the treble and mixed it in with frequencies instead of using the crossfader.
  17. Well... thank you I used to play live, then I knocked my wife up and had to change direction. Though now, I can probably get back into live performance... daughter's in high school.
  18. 14 (nearly 15) year old daughter here. Enjoy them completely while they are small... as they grow quickly.
  19. I'm an obsessive audiophile. I blast my classical/jazz/trance/psybient music in the house. I cannot even imagine dating someone who could not handle proper audio art. I'm married now for 16 years, and the #1 criteria for me (after thoughtfulness, sexiness, and manners) was appreciation of music and psychedelia. The very idea of being intimate with someone who does not share those passions seems very alien to me.
  20. OCD kicked in. Going from Side Effects into One Way LMT, the initial notes of OWL kept bothering me (even though I filtered all of the lower frequencies out). So it has been retooled... but only for those 30 seconds or so. If you want the more perfect version, just re-download from the download link above (I edited it for this). Mixcloud also has the fixed version.
  21. I'm also a happy father. Nice to meet another. I've only got the one daughter though... you seem to have more. Kudos.
