  1. 20 years later, so a bit late I guess, but still an interesting topic. I’m going into a new phase in life where goatrance has a more active role again, so I’m digging through a LOT of old topics. Excuse me if this is too old to reply to. I think it’s a timeless topic though. My first encounter was a compilation called Hypnotrance, I think around ‘’96, I didn’t know it at the time but there was a track from X-Dream (feat Planet B.E.N. - The 5th Dimension), on it, (‘94 disc) so that was my first goa experience., but I knew nothing about goatrance. I was just so excited to hear something else than the regular mostly uninspiring trance, I bought every Hypnotrance compilation I could find. Though there weren’t much true goatrance artists on it, it was much more creative than other trance I heard. It was only in 2000 that I really discovered goatrance and it’s subculture, the first two IM albums, (what a discovery…!) Astral Projection, MFG, Pleiadians, Sun Project, Etnica, Dimension 5, etc, it felt like coming home. It was completely inspiring, fresh, full of energy, life, emotion, and I honestly loved the whole aura around it. I got interested in different cultures, traveling, the tracknames gave me new things to explore and learn more about, the samples were interesting. It was the music I always wanted but never truly knew about, even though I heard some of it before, I never realized the whole movement behind it. And the wide array of artists making quality music. Cosmosis for instance was and still is a God to me. I love a lot of different music, from different kinds of metal, trash/death/doom etc, to jazz/blues/soul, reggae, old school hiphop, world music, experimental, etc, I devour it all, it feeds me, but goatrance opened my mind to a lot of things I was blind to before. It gave me a deeper connection with the world I live in. I’m well aware of how cheesy this might sound, but it truly contributed to a quest I’m still on, it took away the superficiality. It truly gave me purpose, and purpose is one of the driving factors behind life.

    Khetzal - Etamines

Holy shit.... Never thought he would release another album again. I thought he once said he lost interest in the genre. We all come back after a while eventually, it's just natural.
  3. This is really good! I don't understand why people don't reply to these kind of threads. The production and mastering is on point!
  4. https://soundcloud.com/user-958159759/reality-check Experimental dark psy
  5. Made a rather dark, dreamy track, with a foreboding atmosphere around artificial consciousness.

  8. I'm sorry, but i have a question, i'm interested in buying B&W CM9 speakers but i think they are very expensive, the sound is superb but i was wondering if there are less expensive speakers that match the quality of B&W, if they are really worth it i'd go for it, but if there's a good alternative i'd rather not. Now i have standard stereo speakers of my JVC instalation, but i thought it's time to improve that. As Headphones i use Bose QC 15, i like them.
  9. Chi Ad - Liquid Neon Sky, over and over and over again..... I'm so deeply in love with this track, there are only a handful of tunes that send me where this track does, far away in hyperspace!
  10. I would be totally surprised if he's not digging Asura, i'd also be surprised if you haven't tested that already. Maybe Future Sound of London - My Kingdom? What i'm absolutly convinced of is that he'll love (not psychill though) Dead Can Dance - Indus, this is not dark, it's totally black. Actually there are many dark moods on Ambient Meditations 3. Goes for the other Ambient Meditaions compilations aswell. Derango - An Ancient Tale will work too i guess.
  11. I was just listening to the only track i like from Wrecked Machines, called One Octobre, i really love that track, i wish they would produce more in that direction.I like that bassline too, kinda funny.
  12. Oh, Redington, Nurbs and Astrognomix got some good stuff. I like to add Cage, Sunz of Man - First two are best imo, Jedi Mind Tricks - The War Report and Psycho Socials, most stuff from Dalek, Buck 65, Vakill - The Darkest Cloud, Dynospectrum - Dynospectrum, Mobb Deep - The Infamous, Jay Electronica - Syle Wars EP, La the Darkman - Heist of the Century, Oh, and Top Quality - Magnum Opus!, A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Merauders, some KRS One, Wu Tang - 36 Chambers, some Boom Bip etc etc...
  13. Ape to Angel is an amazing album, i really love it! Electronomicon and Futureproof are just as good. Rude Mechanicals and Frequencies Fall are also great. I guess i just love Pitch Black!

    Hol Baumann - Human

Wow, i love this album so much! This is going to be a classic!
  15. You can only vote 1? I like 2,3,4 and 6. With a slight preference for stuff like Aremakki, Total, Katasrtof, Sekt, Hishirio, etc, I guess that's called horror then, so I voted horror. Also Furious, Kindzadza, Osom, Psykovsky, Savage Scream, Datakult, CPC, Fragletrollet, Hyarant etc. And the softer dark, like Penta, Ocelot and old Kluster, old Tryambaka, Paper Squad when I'm in the mood for it.
  16. GZA - Liquid Swords Cunninlynguists - A Piece of Strange Atmosphere - You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having ....And manymore....
  17. Funny how so many people chose Space 5D over the melodic bombs Harmonic Convergence and Antidote, but I share the same opinion, it's got the most perfect flow I ever heard in a track. Harmonic Convergence is also perfect, but in a different way.

    Sci-Fi Movies

Probably, yes, it's fun to bitch about something, you know? (you actually do know...)
  19. Well, did you check Isratrance, in the DJ Set section you'll find plenty of sets, check out the sets from Aerosis.
