Most of my music is made the same way...I build a complex melody on my keyboard. After perfection, i put it on fruityloops for further complexsion. Then, I do this thing which is kinda hard to expline..i find the 3 common notes in my melody..for instance, if i have a melody which is A-B-D-F A-B-F-C B-A-F-E..the three most common notes are A b F, i will form a new bass from those notes, which also generally followers the same [up-down] pattern of the melody, for instance, if my main melody starts with notes decending down the keyboard, then back up, my bass will also find a similar pattern [lol, confused yet?] Now i have 3 melodies, the original, the complex, and the basic. To me, the bass is best when its basic, so my basses are almost always less notes, and sometimes half the speed as the main lead, or the original. [my basses useual sound slow and boding, can't stand fast thumping basses lol] I make my music diffrent than most, i build the melody first because i am trying to convey emotion, rather than making the track danceable, which is why one would make the bass/percs first. Pads etc are useual made up of the original melody or variations oif it, and the lead is always the complexer melody. I hardly ever hold chords [which is what alot of trance does, holds a chord while playing a simple melody] In short, i try to build melodic harmony, not chord harmony. But yeah, theres a run down of my little system there. example:

Its all math to me me. I look at my lead melody, and instantly know what the bass will be. [most of the time anyways]

The object of the song is in listening to the automation, the title 'revolution' comes from the fact that everything is revolveing around the user. Aswell as the massive manipulation of the lead. The only real constant is the bass. Which is pretty nintendoy remenicent, and i think the drak has an overall dark spacy feeling..is it psytrance? I don't know. Probably not. Z3ta is hundreds of times more capable than vanguard. And it is not easy to get psy sounds from vanguard. I have both. If you must get one of those, get Z3ta.

what octave are your bass melodies in?..on the sequencer/pianoroll

I don't think i wouldn't be happy with someone else messing around with my work, id probably accept stuff from others though, like vocals.

other than deepest india, what are all the indian/eastern [chinese/japanese etc, aswell as arabic, basicly any vocals from countries east of europe and africa, but mostly indian] sample sets you guys know of? i can't seem to find perfect vocals i need.

also, use 'smaler synths' for instance, the ts404 [which i am useing severa instances of in my new acid track] can be good for makeing psy sounds if you use it and good FX, i would reccomanded al the fx from the classic series, and try to get SPaceEffect, if you put enough work into it, you can make some amazeing stuff with the simpier synths, like wasp or synth1, it is a lesson i learned long ago. Most psy sounds are generally easy to make too i find. so i think the simple synths woprk just well

I'm going to submit my track, but after listening to al the other tracks from the compo, i must say, i have alot of work to do, it wil be an acid/psytrance track, lots of 303 nastolgia

I am suprise people still think the sequencer has aanything to do with the sound itself. THe sound coems from your vsti's, vstis can be used in most sequencers, your sequencer is only as good as your vstis and samples. with the right vstis and samples you could make leet psytrance with soundtrecorder if you wanted. [[[[[[stand alone vstis, most come qith sequncers anyways]

I started a thread at t.nu that basicly said this: ---------------- I have decided that i will make an 'album of noise', it will be a mini album, a zip fiel actually comprised of my expriments and other incoherint music. Most of it will nto please your average listenener, i garantee it, much of it is me playing without odd sounds on my keyboard. Sounds i enjoy listening to, and i am sure someone else out there would enjoy, though most won't. It will contain several mp3's [maby 10, maby 20, maby 500 who knows] with a txt fiel for ea ch explaining each mp3's cunstruction and idea behind it, and instructions on how to listen to it. for instance, i ahve one called 'Nocturnal Screamologies' which is opretty much how it sounds, a big ass 'whine' sound which can be brain shattering at soem times if the volume is up a bit high, as it spans 5 octaves above 'c4' [dunno if its labled the same in non-fruityloops formats] and also has some freqs that cmpletely go silent they are so high. As it stands, i have about 6 mp3s done, all of them were played live by me [played with the midi keyboard, and i didn't edit the notes or anything for sake of 'authenticity' lol] I make alot of stuff, too much infact of it isn't even really music, but i felt i should release it anyways. it may help some to udnerstand the reasoning behind my actuall 'music' So yeah, be expecting a zip file in a few weeks from me containing mostly collections of experimental sounds i have worked with.
