Where have I been? I mean, just today I noticed that Koneisto is coming up! Really big event you know! How on earth have I not thought of this before!? But anyways, I just looked what's it going to be like this year... one word; massive! Just see for yourself: LAUANTAI 13.8 Merikaapelihalli Roisin Murphy (Echo, UK) LIVE » www.roisinmurphy.com Annie (679 Recordings/Warner, NOR) LIVE » www.anniemusic.co.uk Kevin Saunderson presents FUSE-In DETROIT (USA) DJ » www.worldofdeep.com / www.musiclogical.com / www.fuseindetroit.com Son Kite (Digital Structures, SWE) LIVE » www.sonkite.com Orkidea (Unity, FIN) DJ » www.clubunity.org Puristamo Teebee (Subtitles, NOR) DJ Fanu (Offshore Recordings, FIN) DJ Infekto (Nine2Five, FIN) DJ Valssaamo Michael Mayer (Kompakt, GER) DJ » www.kompakt-net.de Frequenzberater (Datapunk, GER) LIVE Sam & Gigi (FIN) LIVE » www.samgigi.com J.Kusti (Mbar, FIN) DJ Turbiinisali Pastacas (Kohvirecords, FIN/EST) LIVE » www.pastacas.com Gamma + MC Higgs (FIN) DJ » ambient.cx/gamma Kris Kylven (FIN) DJ VJ Merja (FIN) Pannuhalli Mouse On Mars (Sonig, GER) LIVE » www.mouseonmars.de I-f (Viewlexx, NL) DJ » www.hotmix.nl Digicay (FR) DJ Aavikko (Stupido, FIN) LIVE » www.aavikko.net Makelove (Music Is Better, FIN) DJ » www.musicisbetter.com I'm not sure if most of those are so familiar to you, to be honest, I myself even haven't heard of most! But still, can you spot names like ehm... I dunno.... Son Kite and Mouse On Mars there? Brilliant! That's enough for me for suuure! This is only for saturday... I think the friday's line-up isn't worth 30€ like this is. Only one subway ride and I'm there! OU MAI GASH!

Oh the number of quotes of my post! I'm proud! This is quite something! Would you like to quote this one too?
-
Okaaayy.. what should I say.. ehm The beginning was very tasty... creepy all the way down! But I couldn't find myself totally excited when listening to this I must say... after the start the general feeling trough the track somehow was a bit empty? This is definitely not bad stuff, no no! I mean, I like the basslines, you really know your business there... but ONLY basslines can't make a good track really... you had twisting here and there and I was wondering when the track evolved if it's going to explode into screaming madness in the end... some fu*king deranged "oh billy! don't go!" screaming mixed with twisting that gives you stomachache! yeah! But no it didn't! It wasn't a dissapointment but as I know you can make even more wilder stuff I'd advise you to concentrate even more to tiny little sounds and psychedelic crispy effects... those are what bring a track into another level really All in all, decent track, awesome basslines, awesome start More diversity and I think you get there
-
Downloading right now! I'm sure it's gonna be something tasty
-
I think that if somebody says finska stuff is bad he just hasn't heard enough! I think so many artists here are véry good! Just seek and ya shall find!
-
name a good artist never mentioned here before
Oopie replied to psychonaut's topic in General Psytrance
I agree! Dido was a positive surprise for me too! Wasn't expecting anything but it turned out to be very well made pop Hold your prejudices and give it a try... Dido really makes nice stuff! Oh may I add Tycho ... brilliant IDM/ambient! Don't know where to get his cds though -
late hey your avatar... that's just.... WRONG!
-
planet B.E.N. other nice ones have already been mentioned I guess...
-
Haven't even heard of those! sorry! I mean, except from Talpa... which I consider quite good full on, nothin more Oh! And sure Derango has hitted my playlist too! But you see, I'm not counting these kinda dark artists in at all! Derango is twisted to some point but it's mostly about that dark feeling.
-
What music are you listening to right now?
Oopie replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance

*checking the HD* well I could mention... rotor + (ehm... dunno the genré!) this is what I got: rotor + - aileron very nice, and different music indeed! hexstatic as good as eat static they make brilliant ehm... electro/breakbeat/leftfield stuff! -
Hmm... JR has some psychedelic twisting done I agree. Let's say I should have added that one then. Now everyone's happy. U haven't heard Haltya? May I reply with a sentence that americans use to almost any situation: 'ou-mai-gaash!' Check out this... it's mad stuff! Equal to Koxbox's 'Dragon Tales' in my bijaatch'd opinion Hmmm... to add Mushiemans or not? The eternal question I decided not to... it's not really extremely psychedelic, more like melodic mushie ehm.. style I'm sure it'll sound like heaven if you take mushies and listen mushies I gotta try out sometime edit: Yes I definitely should've added Shiva Shidapu! I don't like that much 'the album' but I agree it's psychedelic, véry!

DARK AMBIENT/NOISE/EXPIRIMENTAL TOPIC
Oopie replied to Bahamut's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
just for curiousity, does this 'arghprkl' mean like argh!perkele!? Would fit the picture from a finnish perspective at least -
It was véry hard decision between Eat Static/Koxbox for me... but Koxbox was my choice.. but I guess they're really equally good
-
"Total Eclipse,Juno Reactor,Etnica,Deedrah and Astral Projection" I just can't see them as thé psychedelic stuff of all pyschedelic tasty juice ... I thought about this poll a lot, and I clearly wanted to add only stuff that's based on pure psychedelic madness... if goa trance would be included, or if this poll would be about goa trance, then 50 shots wouldn't be enough for sure! I'd say TE=Goa Trance JR=World Music, Ambient, Techno Deedrah=Earlier works maybe, I could've include it AP=Goa Trance Etnica=Goa Trance that's my view and I know many will disagree but I did the poll the way I think was the best
-
Hehé of course FSOL isn't in the list... it's not trance really botfb? logic bomb? x-dream? I didn't even thought of logic bomb... ok if somebody really sees them as thé psychedelic act then I guess that's okay dokay I just think it's absurd botfb? Hmmm... I think that's more like melodic stuff than psychedelic... at least 'twin sharkfins' is... okay I'm talking about my own biaaaatched opinion here but I made the poll I decide x-dream? It's more like they're the goodz of dark psy I'd say Seems like Simon is winning this one! I thought that maybe Koxbox but there's too many devoted Posford fans out here it's impossible to beat them
-
Heh It's simple, you like something and you don't like something. I personally adore beatless ambient, I think it's the only proper way to go if you wanna chill. This psychedelic downtempo music (HUVA Network, Asura, Entheogenic, Aes Dana...you name it!) on the other hand is something I can't understand! Ok, well some are well executed, f.ex. banco de gaia, astralasia... the older stuff in general and I have a soft spot for Shulman too Tastes do differ so dramatically, but there's nothing wrong with that
-
hmmm... yeah i could have included Deedrah there christiana high life is one of my favs ever!
-
What I'm looking here is the ultimate mastargh of the psychedelica! And you don't see AP, Etnica, Infected Mushies, Pleaidians etc. here cause they're not all about psychedelia, there's also many melodies in that sort of music and the psychedelic factor isn't maybe that big. Artists that I included have devoted their sound to pure psychedelia... it's psychedelic twisting all the way down baby! I maybe have forgotten some big-timers... if you don't find thé psychedelic distorter from that list you can always post your fav. Yeah and I didn't include any Pink Floyd or something there I'm talking about trance here!
-
Maybe also Total Eclipse - Access Denied could be worth checking out
-
hehé it's no biggie! I admit it can be a bit problematic sometimes with a's, ä's, o's. ö's... But you really did a good review on a véry nice album, that's what matters.
-
I'm taking a wild guess as always, Elysium? EP made some tribal stuff back in the days
-
haha it's so funny when you're talking about 'tärinät', which in finnish means shakings, cause the real name of the album is 'tarinat' which means stories
-
Can't say I've heard (didn't sound good either, sorry!)
-
Only melodic trance I've liked is from Platipus. And maybe Fragma and Dune have some nice tracks too
