i remember discussing this before.. i always thought it was odd. in greece, there is a very small black minority, so i never really thought about why there werent any blacks in the scene.. you wouldnt expect to see many anywhere else as well.. but when i came to london, which is the modern day babel with all races living in the same city, i did notice this. and odd it was.. its propably a cultural thing. jimi hendrix was one, but i cant think of a second black hippie..

i think hallucinogens take on dark side of the moon deserves a mention ; ) i rarely listen to it but no doubt its very well done! and its a whole album, not a track which makes it even more special..

NNOOOOO! the original by vangelis is one of my favorite tunes of all time. one of the few tracks that have the "extra magical feel".. p.s. have u seen bladerunner? on topic: dead cities was one of my first electronic music albums.. one of those cds you have a special bond to, you know ; ) I love it!! its surely something "showing the path" of musical/artistic evolution! like gnome said: perfect...

what about haltya? its one half of pelinpala if i remember correctly... i really like the first album (forest flavor), i know they got another one out but i havent heard that one yet..

i d describe IDM as being something post-breakbeat/jungle and the parties i had in mind are parties with music in the apheks and autechre (thnx gnome) style.. although this genre is evolving right now day by day... really, i cant follow it! i guess you can research labels like rephlex, warp, ant zen, hymen and find out more.. as for the "slitting wrists" part... well its not like that at all.. (got the joke) but you re not TOO far off. its music made in northern europe.. long winters and cold.... parties in filthy basement warehouses in city centres with very dirty sound.. filthy breaks and basslines and kicks that are bad for the ears ; )

havent got this album yet... but i know its quite nice! i ve listened to some of the tracks .. i also liked a lot "fairytales". his previous double album.. its worth noting that spyweirdos is one half of "weird alchemy" (together with john spyridakis). have you heard their album wired alchemy? thats psytrance of course, so pretty different from spyweirdos stuff.. btw, i m pretty sure fairytales was/is on sale at lotos records in salonika..

im really gambling right now.. listening pavlos sidiropoulos ("underground" rock artist from greece, lived fast and died young 15 years ago) at work. lyrics include words like: heroin and his themes include: sodomy, crime, narcotics gotta be careful who steps in here and what track is playing...

konstantinos vita - super stella greek break-ambient project... if anyone knows stereo nova its the guy who sang and co-composed the music for them...

i ve been playing this album a lot on my holidays.. nice soundtrack to relax under the sun and maybe groove along ! i would rate it as 8.5/9 out of 10, but then again i cant think of many new releases i like as much as this.. i still remember my first listen.. i pressed play and then i had to answer the phone. went to the next room and all i could hear where some silly noises i totaly disliked.... but then i pressed: stop. play. increased the volume and the album won me. i even like it a lot compared to blue synergy (the old prog so to speak) one more reason to be in universo parallelo---> JAIA (missed them/him in samothraki, was in main stage - big mistake)
