+1. Substrata is outstanding. I personally would not recommend Shenzhou to a Biosphere newcomer - I expect they would find it boring. Has anybody mentioned Global Communication's 76:14? Not all tracks are entirely beatless, but most are, and it's very good.

You're thinking of 7045737. 7042737 is Toaztet. Their difference is 3000, or EOOO, which is OOOB backwards. OOOB sounds a bit like OOOD. I think this may be the source of confusion. Hope that clears things up a bit.

Incidentally the first psytrance I heard was 1200 Micrograms' first album. Say what you like about them, but if you've never heard psy before and somebody gets you stoned and plays you that through a good pair of speakers it will blow you away.

Sorry to go against the grain here, but I'm not sure that our corner of the web necessarily warrants such a long article on Wikipedia. When this thread started I considered posting that I expected that a long article about a special interest website like this would get deleted or butchered, but then I checked Wiki and found that several other websites (like YTMND for example) did have huge pages, though I expect that all the websites I checked have larger traffic than psynews. Perhaps you could instead leave the article you have written in the forum files, submit a short article about psynews, and post a link at the bottom to the full history?

22 for me. I am impressed at all the people who were listening to psytrance when they were 15 - back then I was listening to shit like Oasis. Though in my defence that was a brief transition period before which I only listened to classical and baroque music.

What are you talig? To me The Gathering and Classical Mushroom seem way more dancefloor-oriented than their later stuff, especially IM the Supervisor (I haven't heard the new one).

+1, and not just with respect to IM tunes. Whenever I hear people DJ they seem to always just play very recent or killlargh unrlsd stuff. What's wrong with throwing in a few tunes that are more than a year old?

I have only listened to the short samples on psyshop but based on that it isn't my kind of thing. Kind of bland and coffee-table-friendly IMO.
