  1. PLEIADIANS - Asteroids. Yeah, right. I'll be very surprised if its anything close to their old stuff. I've pretty much given up on them and there work on comps have never impressed me to date. Plus the album seems to be very full-on like all the other ordinary shit that keeps coming out, but I'll still take the several minutes of my life to hear the samples... there is always hope but I'm personally sick of hoping, waiting for some fantasy comeback.. so I'm not anymore. And I'm still curious to hear their track on the other new comp, along with Filteria Vs. Pan. I'm more excited about the Filteria stuff than Pleiadians...
  2. Generally speaking, I like melodies, layers of melodies, and not just a note dropped and released occasionally. Something with substance, that builds and enhances the song, not just one melody, that is, unless its insanely catchy. (like Transwave Trashish, it had one awesome leading melody!) so this album drops melody notes (which is so-so) but also has some more defined. Don't get me wrong though, it isn't always just about melodies. Some tracks on The Delta, Space Monkey, X-Dream's Radio, and the There is No Tomorrow comp had few melodies, and those dark psytrance albums were all good/great. Intro - I like the simple, basic melody. I also like the voices. Fractal Circus - Track 3 is the first song and maybe best one that eventually aims for melodies in this dark but not THAT dark psytrance album. Its not just comprised of "a" melody, but several layers, and I wish there were more tracks with more melodies like this one. It has catchy moments, the melodies, and I wish there were even more of them and more change into a more involved formation of melodies. I like it. And Monkey Supernova, when it slows down and the voice samples... then it picks up differently, I like that. Then I like the added melody, then it stops, then it speeds up... It could have been more creative (added more sounds) when it speeds up, but it works. Juggling Spheres - I like the Pulp Fiction sample. Its funny in a cool way. And I like this song. I like those high-note metal, chime hits. Track 6 should be shot. Pachamama is so freekin repetitive!, with its altered single notes pressed in here and there. I don't like Pachamama. Strong obvoius bassline aside, its pretty lame and lacking compared to many of the others. Give me something more involved and exciting please. Please NO FILLERS!!! There a turn-off. I like the track, Space Cadet, when it slows down... cool dark space psytrance I call it. But that flute melody does get repetitive after a while. Several tracks in the middle are pretty cool ... and I like the Outro, although it may come off as a slightly weak closing, its decent and while still being a slowler song, could have been better. The clapping sounds and chime or tune is fairly basic but catchy. There are moments here on this MEGALOPSY album when the song slow down, changes, and some of it I find interesting to see where it goes! I just feel that certain changes could have been more dramatic, crazy, shocking, and productive if the artist aimed to make it such, as opposed to just changing and taking it into another area, an area thats usually more enjoyable because its change creates a track less repetitive, or rather not repetitive, but an area nonetheless thats not dramatic, crazy, intense, or more dark than before it seems. I like that the songs actually move around a bit and don't just stay in the same boring location through-out, its better than being repetitive because then many people would just stop listening or already be listeing to crap. (for the most part) I like that this album has parts that really change. It has its moments, although far from great I feel, and each track is very different from the one before, THANKFULLY, because most people don't want to hear one 65-80 minute song. Some of this album sounds pretty good, while other parts seem okay or just whatever. I don't know why they don't just dive deeper into the melodies and actually make them darker!, because the little tunes that come in here and there wouldn't sound that dark if you removed the tone of the song, those harsh, dark sounds and left the melody or tunes all alone. Think about it. These artists obviously have talent and potential above much of todays dark psytrance releases. And it would be interesting to see them dive deeper into darker, more involved, intense, ambitious, much MORE nightmareish psytrance WITH more melodies; dark eerie melodies! Take it deeper into the human psyche, while still making it danceable of course. I simply hope they avoid the typical full-on sound and make their next album more vivid, psychedelic, dark TONE, wild, and with more layers of melodies and atmosphere than before. This sounds like a pretty good album.
  3. I totally agree with There Is No Tomorrow, which to date is unquestionably the best darkpsy comp I have ever heard! Now while every track may not be great, the songs for the most part have character; substance and drive... not just driving sounds and noises. They have direction and creative elements that occasionally stand out, good samples, mixing, some very catchy MELODIES (although not many, the melodies in the last one, those chimes are fucking badass) and some flat-out, wicked-evil-catchy elements! The tracks are very aggressive but they don't just loop; they change and for the most part; become at times become more involved and/or different; regardless they remain engaging. It's unlike most of todays dark psy. Much of todays darkpsy is just a bunch of twisted noises around a strong bassline, beats, and a general dark tone. Darkpsy in general now days fucking sucks; its minimal bullshit or shit just to sound crazy without the rhythm and creativity of the older stuff in general. So what about Dark Soho? Also, does evil, darkpsy count?, such as Sandman, Xenomorph, etc? And what about Space Monkey - Psychotic Episode??? That was one of the best darkpsy surprises of 2004, period. Oh, and who ever said Penta rocks... damn right! Cool album!, and that list is missing many TOP darkpsy albums, but I realize too late to edit now so.
  4. Nothing like it? Do you mean its much better, tighter, more crisp, or that this demo is nothing compared to hearing it in its entirety? (without the demo cuts to show off parts) I like this song so I hope its not too different, unless its just even better, more intricate, more melodies... at least something in a good way. The full version should be like the demo but complete sounded I suppose, is that what you mean? Nice... Congradulations man!
  5. MOBY: HOTEL - Short Review I bought it last week. Yeah, the ambient disc has no beats, its very suble, simple, and quiet, its very calm and will probably bore the majority but its not bad, just not nearly as attention grabbing as the songs on disc one. The first disc of two discs on Hotel, is all pretty much rock, pop, techno, dance, and yes, even Trip-Hop, at least major influences if its not Trip-Hop. HOTEL is aimed for mainstream audiences as PLAY (his last album) was, in that it is not as focused on the chill or one side. And the way its compiled makes it obvious that they wanted to have atleast a song for everyone basically. Basically. This is music you have to be in a certain mood to enjoy. This is not a bad release and its by far not his best album, but he has some pretty good, decent songs; a rather decent combination of sad ones mixed with more subtle, slow, faster, and uplifting ones. It should be noted that there are less instruments involved with this album, which is somewhat disappointing because MOBY is very musically talented, regardless if you like his music or not. he tracks Lift Me Up, Beautiful, and Raining Again are the best ones here, followed by Spiders which I think is decent. And the track Very is a cool dance one, but not trance and nothing psychedelic of course. Its pretty basic but niceand uplifting sounding, with the female singing. Lastly, the song Slipping Away is one of those easy-listening songs that are so simple and nothing THAT good, but its just nice and pleasent to listen to sometimes. The only track I really don't like is Temptation, insanely slow, not uplifting, with patience-losing vocals and lyrics. Its just very not interesting, intriging, or exciting. Boring. There are about three songs without lyrics on this first disc. If you want his best work, go listen to First Cool Hive, Extreme Ways, and Southside (Feat Gwen Stefani) really kickass... I wish there were some tracks like those on this album. First Cool Hive is truly great!, a song made famous on the Fifth Element movie. I like this album. Its grown on me; its very pleasent to listen to depending on the mood. The best, most catchy songs are in the beginning 5 songs of the album, and number 9 is the dance one. However, because I have heard and owned every Moby main album ever (6 or 7 I think) I can't say this is really good because in comparison, well I'm comparing... thats how I try to make my reviews less subjective. MOBY - HOTEL .............. C+ or B- out of A
  6. hey thanks, and I was wondering if anyone heard the other comp this song seems to be availaable on, if this comp is any good at this link below, cause I really want to hear this song and with the Novatekk comp, I've heard all those songs except for Y-Salem... so I'd prefer to get the Trust in Trance Vol 1, here I haven't heard all the other songs, and which includes the Y-Salem song. Its at this link and I wonder if as late as 1999, if this is TNT's first compilation? Has anyone heard it? http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd901.html Also, when I went to discogs on the link above, scrolled down to the song-title list and clicked on AP, I noticed that Yan-Iv Haviv, one of the guys from Astral Projection's name is crossed off. Its strange. Did one of them leave the group or something else? http://www.discogs.com/artist/Astral+Projection
  7. Hey AmithabaBuddha, Well I really like it! The kickdrum doesn't sound muffled like the last track and I really like how there are more layers of melodies than anything I have heard from you to date. I actually like the voice bits; samples. They're not over or under-used, and I feel they're carefully placed in areas that add character in a posititve way to your song rather than not. I just wish the track sample didn't stop part way through, in the beginning-middle and middle end, where it seems you wanted to showcase the first, second, and final part of the song. I obviously would have better enjoyed hearing the song in its entirety; the full song. However, whatever the reason for the cuts, I can still form a view based on the lengthy parts you've made available. Just curious, but when did you start making this one? Like how long has it taken you about, and did you finish this before or after the others? I'm just curious if you put extra work into this one or something; it sounds more involved and detailed than the others. Nonetheless, this is the best work I've heard from you to date. It seems like you keep getting better. This is the fifth sample and/or sample demo; track I've heard from you. The first two involved one being so-so, the other fairly decent. The Myst one was pretty good I think, and then Space 9 was also pretty good (especially if certain production things like the kickdrum were fixed) and now with this track -- this is good Filipe. I would buy this if when the time comes, you released it on a main album with at least 7-8 other well done songs at this level or better! Congradulations on making, on my standards, good old-skool goatrance, and I think some people will find this great. Also, I like the name Lost Buddha. Its simple. People can actually relate to Buddha, well Buddha has such major history, and I like that your current artist name is ironic. If any one is "lost," the last people to be lost it seems would be Buddha or Jesus, and regardless of the exact reason for this choice of words. Its unique; different, and of course you do have to stick to a name or you'll never be content. I look forward to hearing more different, old-skool goatrance tracks from you at this quality and beyond, as you will get better yet! Keep up the good work and sooner or later you will get a record deal. Someone may contact you when you least expect it. Regardless, any time that passes before that occures should only give you more time to improve your style, create and finish more tracks, and take things even further. Its always interesting to hear what you make next.
  8. Hmmm. Y-salem? Interesting. I've never heard of it for some reason. Now I have to hear it. The SFX tracks I have fully heard are off the album Unreleased Tracks 89-94. While many sound very dated, some of it can get repetitive and too dated sounding I feel, there are several classics and there is atleast one track that remains great to this day, the melodies, the entire song stands way above its time!, and that song is Allah Acbar. The only album I can currently find this song on is here: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd901.html Has anyone heard this comp? I might get it if there are some other good songs too. Also, is there a link available to the Nova Tekk one?
  9. This album was just reviewed on a thread in these forums toward the end of 2004. Most of the less-than-ten reviews were not posititve, as they said it sounded too clubish, and the singing or voices were cheesy; just plain bad. I went over all the tracks based on the samples and only liked one or two of the samples. The rest sounded too ordinary. There is just too much so-so, fairly good stuff out there, so unless its really good or great, it usually gets mostly unnoticed amongst all the other so-so stuff. One or two good tracks isn't good enough now days. If its that good, most times it will get positive recognition on forums like these.
  10. Well I am getting over a cold. Really, and when I wrote that, I simply realized that I agreed with AmithabaBudda and the point of me not saying more was exactly that; to count me in also with those that believe his first album is better... because, ahhh.. key word here, because; ... because its not only the first and most innovative of the five Cosmosis albums, but because it has these great, layered old-skool melodies that aren't on Synergy to this extent; in this style. It was recently said that Cosmology is goatrance and Synergy is psytrance, and while both are obviously psychedelic, I now can really distinguish the two. I actually heard both for the first time last year, Synergy before Cosmology, and I unquestionably felt that Cosmology was more engaging, at least the layers of melodies really did it for me, and some songs are so great to this day; the whole album is a classic. Synergy I felt is really good or great too, and I can see it being a classic too. I find it interesting because with most artists, it usually seems their second release is much better according to the majority (AP, MFG, IM) a second album usually improves upon the first and impresses, matures, now that the artist is more acccustomed to putting an album together; certain things just flow better, but Synergy is only better if you want psytrance and not goatrance, and while some tracks are loaded with layers, its just so different from the first, but its fine. I mean, its not easy trying to improve upon a near perfect thing. If Cosmology is basically an A-, I'd give Synergy a B+, even thnough it was just good for me, I'm looking at it for the time it came out and comparing it to all the other Cosmosis albums. So that would make Contact around a B-; I never heard the third album. How is it?
  11. Wow! Do I ever feel the opposite, hehe. I heard Plastikman once back in the late 90's while sampling random techno and trance albums at some CD store. I was unimpressed. For me it was so boring, slow, lacking, just too minimal for my taste... like when does it pick up, it was to the point I couldn't take it anymore; I had to shut if off.. and I suppose the point is NOT to pick-up but damn I remember some kid recommending it, saying its so great! I remember being like, "Wtf? This has got to be the worst thing I've ever heard." But that was a long time ago and maybe I'd appreciate some of his stuff now. So okay, while sampling his albums, I'm trying to see what some of you seem to clearly see: greatness, innovation, unique talent, well done work, something worth giving high ratings too... but I just can't get into this, as it would probably be far more effective in the backround or a movie to create mood; accentuate tone. I don't see what is so great or even good about it, and I'm not saying its bad, but its just not one of my prefered types of ambient/electronica I suppose. Samples are on www.amazon.com
  12. Great point Rain! Its true. All of it. None of it. Anything. Everything. Nothing lasts forever, at least not to most peoples knowledge in this world. Which means Goatrance too has come and gone. It will never die in spirit, and while occasional products will come along, the old times will never be again. Its over, and as you mentioned; perspective; to look at the glass as half-full in stead of half-empty. I'm glad the old days lasted as long as they did! We should all be so thankful. And with today. This Full On thing will fade, as minimal faded, and as one day music will fade, but now and soon later is not that day. We get so caught up that most times that like you said, we percieve something to be forever, just by basing an observation or a feeling on the present; the moment. Its all very silly really. How we get so worked up, fixated, stressed-out, unsure, emotional, influenced over such small things; things we can't change but simply are. Good thread. One of the "necessary ones."
  13. Hey AmithabaBuddha, Yes, very nice. This and the Silk Animal Myst one sounded much better than what I heard before. It seems that you're really improving. I was actually writing this while I was hearing the song thethe first time. I was going to add that the song needs to change at least in the second half and add more layers, because althought its pretty good, it starts to get repetitive, but then the song did change; the kickdrum picked up, the melody changed, the song raises up and revives itself from what I didn't expect. This is a very good thing. I like the melodies, how they flow together and then toward the last two minutes of the song very much. No complains with the melodies. Granted this is just a demo, prototype, or whatever. Two last things remains: Production: The kickdrum sounds a bit muffled compared to most other goatrance and psytrance I've heard. I don't mean it sounds too soft or quiet, but rather too deep and muffled. It distracts from the melodies a bit. It should sound more solid, you know?, like the kickdrums on AP, MFG, Cosmosis, just listen to those and then your thing. I'm aware the kickdrum is sometimes distorted, (brought out heavier or lighter for effect) but thats not the case here, as twenty different equalizers couldn't fully fix this one thing. So its simple. Something needs to be corrected with your kickdrum so it compliments the song better. Name: AmithabaBuddha, may I suggest changing your name, Terot. It reminds me of Terot cards, ya know? Your artist name should compliment you. I realize its all about the music but you want to do everything possible for people to have their attention brought to your music, and thats the point of having a good name, image, character, appeal, so they can take the time to listen to whats inside. Think of names like Hallucinogen, Astral Projection, Cosmosis, Pleiadians, Scatterbrain, etc... so okay those also happen to be great artists, and those names would probably not go over well in a rock, metal, or pop group name, but for goatrance they're great, really intriging sounding! I bet you could come up with a name that people hear and instantly think, "hmmm... now THAT sounds cool. I wonder what that is?" Think about it. If you want you can come up with several and ask feedback, maybe we can give some ideas. And about the name MYST, well I at first thought Myst sounded kinda cool because its short for MYSTERIOUS... but screw that; its based on a freekin video game franchise thats been around for like ten years! So its good to know you've changed your name, and I think you agree that with some time and thought, you can come up with something even better. In conclusion, I like the last two things I heard and you seem to really be getting the old-skool goatrance thing done right. Of course you have some ways to go before achieving greatness I feel, and you seem to be going in the right dirction. Thanks for the listen. Just figure out that kickdrum thing so it doesn't sound muffled and any other small modifications to improve the production quality, and you have a good song! AmithabaBuddha, I would think that you have or will soon have enough good tracks for a complete debut goatrance album, maybe by end 2005 or sometime 2006. Is your goal to release a main goatrance album? And are you friends with the guys at Suntrip Records? Maybe you can release it through them when you have at least 8-9 tracks that are really good and complete. Could you briefly state your interest or take on this? Like I'd be interested in hearing a main album from you when the time comes, to see your stuff on psyshop and saikosounds like all the others. Sometimes it helps to begin with a track or two (has to be great to stand above all the others) on a comp to get people talking and anticipating the possiblilites from them being teased with something really kickass.
  14. No, thats not it. Have you not heard? It has not been hard for them to follow-up at all. If they wanted to make something on par with Classical Mushroom or B.P. Empire they could do it, considering they've released three (according to MOST people) great albums! Anyway, when they released IM the Superviser, their intentions were not to follow-up with any old style, (except part the innovative style that began with the catchy lyrics-filled track on Converting Vegetarians: Other Side). IM's point is to be less ellaborate, sound more popish, thus be more appealing and accepted with a wider audience! The general audience doesn't know what psytrance is, and yet people are just beginning to hear about IM, but it hasn't taken off just yet. They have played in the USA; California, a friend has informed me, either that and/or its happening soon or again. In order to get radio play, they need more popish songs; shorter songs, songs with lyrics, (which paints a face on the song) hence songs many of us PSYTRANCERS don't like. What IM is doing is only more-friendly to the majority because lets be realistic, the majority of music listeners in general don't know who Infected Mushroom is. Many of those who are hearing the more poppish songs for the first time ever by IM, they think this is a new group because they are unaware of their history. Infected Mushroom still has creative control over their work; this was an essential part for them to remain in control of their work or it wouldn't work ... and they're aware that they must sacrifice the ellaborate psytrance direction if they want to reach a wider audience, at least for right now. This is the reason for the lyrics, and instead of them completely changing right away, which would be a blow to their fan base, they're obviously doing it gradually. Look at the whole picture: It has taken IM 6 albums (one double) for them to get to this point, and they have a ways to go. I think in general, we'll see less and less of the old, crazy-wild, intricate psytrance stuff, and the more new stuff will become more and more poppish, with lyrics, voices, and singing fused with trance, until one day they may not even be called psytrance anymore. Just listen to their new album compared to the others. It is EXACTLY what they INTENDED it to be. They asked for this and they're getting it. Now if anyone feels IM has sold-out or become crap, its not the mojority of listeners, but many of the goatrance / psytrance fans on several sites including this one, who wish they went back to making their ellaborate psytrance masterpieces. What will be interesting to see is what they choose to release next. I personally feel its obvious that they are moving further away from their older stuff, while still keeping their psytrance roots, and in time it will probably be some type of pop-trance, but not right now. There are obviously people who see the potential in IM with their innovative style, and with a couple catchy poppish songs they could really take off in the US. For more talk of them becoming more mainstream, watered-down, whatever you call it, see the B.P. Empire list of comments and reviews in the old reviews section. Some people could see this change of style and what else would be coming nearly 3-4 years before it came. And about my er... opinion of their new album: (This is basically what I wrote when the album first came out, months back) Infected Mushroom's - IM the Supervisor - This does have some good tracks (Track 6 for example is really good, and 2, and 3 are very well done) but I strongly feel its unquestionably the weakest main album ever put out by Infected Mushroom to date! When its good its great, but when its not, its really disappointing, like change the song FAST or shut it of disappointing. I hate the singing in the opening song; it completely kills an otherwise cool song. However some of the voices; the female voices on track 3 are very catchy! Look, if IM is going to have voices I'd rather it be a nice voice like the female bits, but not in track one and Cities of the Future; it takes me out of the mood and turns me off from the several well done songs. There is greatness in this album, but the price of greatness comes with several surprisingly dissapointing tracks due to their intentions to appeal to a wider audience. The following below is what I feel the IM albums deserve... and I'm all about comparing. The Gathering - Hmmm, well I only liked the first song and Virtual Voyage, many seem filled with acid lines and not as much my syle, but I think this deserves an A- or B+ I realize their first album was very innovative, but does anyone know if it revolutionize? Classical Mushroom - A B.P. Empire - B+ or A- Converting Vegatarians: Trance Side - C+ Other Side - B IM the Supervisor - C+
  15. ARRRGHH!!! Well when I finally thought to have gotten the e-mail part up, it asked for an account, and so I used one of my friends e-mails who has a MAC acount, but so far NO ONE has replied or returned my e-mail, unless it didn't go through. Maybe some of you cango to their site and actually try e-mailing them. Maybe it will work. Try to figure this thing out! They have some great albums that many people seem to want to order and can't, including myself! I am one person and I'm sure there is more than one way to get in touch with them, but its so FUCKING irritating. I believe the e-mail to Dragonfly Records is... webmaster@dragonflyrecords.com (or) webmaster@dragonfly.com I would tell you if the UX album was available if I could actually communicate with Dragonfly Records. I don't know how they expect to do business if their order section is full of errors and site bugs making it not possible for us to order. If any of you make any progress or whatever, please post something! Their site lay-out, format is rediculously frusterating and confusing. Its pathetic really.
  16. PLANET BEN: FULL ON (Some Review elements and feedback) Kinetic Cartharsis - I like the opening melody; how the song starts, and the part with the guitar riffs are a nice, aggressive touch. Then a lift-off... but it goes back into the same guitar riffs in stead of taking the song else where.. but then it does change... ambient.. mellow, nice. When the guitar returns a second or third time, the song gets a bit too repetitive for me, but then that lift-off seems to save it in the second half until the guitar comes back yet again. I guess I just wish he twisted the song into a bunch of new sounds toward the final third or something. Think about it. It would have appealed to more listeners! This is a decent song with some good parts and ideas. I think it could have been better but its far from bad; I was expecting worse because I was not satisfied with his last album; I really enjoyed that Vacuum side project he did though. Guitar Spice - I like the female samples, the songs just okay though, nothing really memorable. The guitars are slowly growing tedious if they're on every track. Pulser - I like guitars (a la some Sun Project, but er.. not too much) I like the part at around 3:53 into the song when the girl says, "Any Time" but then when the same guitar two note thing returns, agh!!! I need to hear different sounds; take the song other places, make it more interesting, not just with a new melody though. God, he can make this CD better if he spends more time changing certain repeating parts and spicing it up a bit with more layers of melodies here and there. Track 4; Unnamed: - It starts off with nice sampling, good, catchy melodies!, but then the guirtar comes in and I start to cringe.. its that typical-sounding stuff many people talk about... but it changes half-way through, which is smart. I wish more tracks did this more because it keeps things more interesting. Anyway, when those guitars come back yet again, the song really has nothing new or exciting to offer. Its an okay song, I like those melodies and I wish he build up more of them, especially around the guitar riffs, which he could have used less of in my opinion. Track 5; Unnamed: - Don't care for the female samples here. Don't like the song either. If you like guitars in full on psytrance you might really like this album, and I prefer Four Carry Nuts- Mechanical Age for those massive, epic goa-influenced layers of melodies they have, (especially in track 7) while also having guitars in general. Didn't hear any of tracks 6-7.... My Lucky Number - First, I like how this starts out. I like how many of them start out, very peaceful, mysterious, etc... until I hear some single guitar riff which usually takes me out of the mood, and I like guitars, but not too much so I'm BIASED there. Anyway, this song has decent samples, cool melodies, and its a pretty cool song overall, one of the better ones on the album, but not to sound too repetitive, but couldn't he have relied a bit less on the use of guitars? Just my feelings. The last track; Brainspay (Did someone mean Brain Spray?) Hmmm, I wonder why he didn't end this album off with a cool, melodic down-tempo chill track? It would have been different from all the other songs and a pleasent closing. Oh well, In conclusion, the guitars do dominate the melodies, and since I like layers of melodies over guitars in general, I don't find this album good for me, as in general I don't like most Full On, but I did enjoy Space Monkey and 1200 Mics last album very much. This Planet B.E.N. album isn't bad. I too wish he made more goatrance now days, but his new album is actually better than lots of the Full On out there, and yet I wouldn't classify it with the best Full On, but thats how I feel anyway. This album did beat out what I was at first expecting, which was something terrible or half-decent at its highest point. This actually has some nice, good ideas, and while its not ahead of its time like his first album, Trippy Future Garden was, its not bad either. People who are into Full On may want to listen to it and decide for themselves. I hope someone appreciates this review. It took me an hour to write it and I have no idea why I spent this much time. ..................................... Also, To Planet B.E.N. Records: Do you have a release date for when this will be available on psyshop and saikosounds? The samples currently aren't up yet on psyshop. And I finally heard the samples on your site; longer samples, whole song samples, and I only heard parts, with exception to the first track. And I want to start this off by clearly saying: I occasionally like guitars in psytrance but not too much and/or in every song, so I am biased because of my less-than-great feelings toward guitars, not all the time but in general, so if you like guitars in psytrance/Full On psytrance, you may like this or at least several songs. I'd put this thread in the main REVIEW SECTION of the forums, for decent or better feedback, reviews, opinions on the album after people heard it; when its available on psyhop. And WOW, just my opinion but he shouldn't have called this "Full On," as the words Full On have gradually gotten quite a strong, NEGATIVE conotation to it for being so typical and general sounding, even if some of it stands out and is not as typical and general sounding compared to the majority of Full On releases. So I think you guys, your label, and BEN have lost some points for who ever titled this "Full On." (even if it is Full On) This is just how people react in general, and considering thiese forums include people from ALL OVER the world, I think it would give any artist a good idea of what not to do, for example. Lastly, can we order Trippy Future Garden on CD with the same original cover from off your site or can it somehow be made available individually through psyshop and saikosounds? Thats a classic.
  17. I just found this. Didn't know they had an actual full album actually called "Organic," unless this is the pop one that I forgot the name of. I thought that was a track when someone mentioned it above, but it says 1991 so this can't be goa, probably some or the pop/rock album, but it has Sundown on it as the last track. Hmmm... www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000008J73/qid=1111348981/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_8_1/202-7483954-3175044
  18. I'm very pleased to hear Jannis is preparing a second album. I wonder if he can make it amazing?!, and I hope its as the first, and taken higher and further; more beautiful, hypnotic, trippy, melodic, (any awesome leading melodies) catchy, deep, flowing, liquid, far-out, atmospheric, to the galaxy and beyond, and this last part is pushing it but it would be quite a feat if it.. or maybe at least one track was the most layered track ever made in psychedelic goatrance history!, (Imagine that, ha!) Anythings possible! Good luck! I just hope the comp turns out to be great or at least very good, and the only good or great track isn't just from P.A.N. vs Filteria, but from the others as well. Like I hope there is more goatrance/psytrance on this comp than full-on and more typical tracks. I say this because Pleiadians have been quite disappointing since FOL, even with their Etnica projects, (new Etnica one included) and I don't know much about the other artists so I feel uncertain right now, but it will be interesting to see how this comp turns out! And isn't it ironic that Pleiadians are on the same comp as Filteria? heh, I'm under the impression that Pleiadians have heard Filterias album, and I wonder what they think about it. I'd be very curious to know if anyone has heard anything about what Pleiadians think of Sky Imput! So you heard some new stuff? Are the samples available via the links? Its in like chinese language or something, so I'm confused where to go and how to sample anything, unless they aren't up yet?
  19. Wow, congradulations to those who have done such a great job at providing so many great "TERRIBLY GAY" covers. This thread is very funny!!! Yahoo or Yahel, or Ya-Hell (I'm gonna go to hell if I keep laughing), well however you sound it out, I wonder what Yahels reactionto this thread would be. Would all these boys posting the picture of him with his big ball excite him? :huh I just don't get it. I mean, theres more subtle ways to come out of the closet. No seriously, don't these artists know what a gay cover looks like? Its so obvious to all of us what a gay cover looks like. You'd think they would know most because its there career and way to bring attention to their work! Jesus, its like, get a clue! I wouldn't buy this CD even if it was good, just so I can maintain respect to my heterosexuality. Things he could be doing with that ball in the cover. a.) Making it disappear. b.) Shoving it up a little boys ass; maybe he'll have the little boy shove it up his ass! *Ouch!* c.) Thowing it at someone. (I like what someone said with the Dragon-Z idea) d.) Planning on eating it. Mmmm. Looks Yummy. e.) OMG!, its an Easter Egg!
  20. Whoa, oh dear, hold on! Gods Eye is just OKAY?? Gods Eye is not all that?!! If you mean Gods Eye on Goa you are freekin insane!, but I know there is more than one version so... What version are you talking about? This song I'm talking about is called "Gods Eye on Goa,", and its almost 8 years old, and it was one of my most favorite goatrance songs ever when I first heard it in 1999 or 2000. Is the version you're talking about the opening track on the underrated Phonokol comp called Eternal Trance? If so, wow, I disagree with you. That song is a classic, and I can see if you prefer Sundown over it. Sundown ROCKS!!! The only shitty songs on that comp are the crappy-clubby, (not even psytrance) repetitive ones by some guy named Ramirez. I fucking HATE those last three songs! But anyway, *back to being on topic* The Eternal Trance comps is where I first heard The Overlords; tracks such as Gods Eye on Goa and Sundown. Sundown is a great song, but it loses some of its steam toward the end because it keeps repeating those layered beats and melody that sounded so great through out the first half; it becomes a bit tiresome I felt, but regardless, it starts out awesome, has a nice space in the middle before taking off yet again. Gods Eye on Goa isn't as climactic as Sowndown obviously, but the goatrance version has melodies so cool, catchy, hypnotic, and beauitiful sounding. Have The Overlords ever made any other good or great songs? It seems that they haven't. They've only made two goatrance songs that I'd classify as great that I've actually heard, and then they disappeared it seems. After hearing their two songs on Eternal Trance, I hunted their stuff down and found out they had one main album, but it was like pop/rock sounding! What the hell?!?!?! and the Gods Eye song on their main album wasn't anything like the Goatrance one on the Eternal Trance comp. Actually, I think it was just called Gods Eye, not Gods Eye on Goa on their main album. I never heard Organic, and the Sundown Ionizer Remix really kicks ass!!! Man, I wish they released a main goatrance album with all tracks as good as those. It seems those tracks were random fluke masterpieces. Either that or those were their only great ideas for goatrance songs that they could think of and release. I think they could have been amazing if they released a main goatrance album back then; 8 or 9 tracks as grand as the few I've heard. That would have been AWESOME!!! But things truly AWESOME (Excellent) seldom happen. Below are the links to the only two comps I know of their goatrance songs existing. You can hear part of SUNDOWN IONIZED REMIX at the second link. Damn that sounds sooooo great! http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pho/pho1cd103.html http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ntd/ntd2cd427.html But seriously, I like talking about Overlords few great things I know of, and hopefully someone can give more information on other good stuff by them and their status (are they still making music, will they ever do goatrance again? probably not...) but besides that, and I guess hearing what people thought of Sundown for whatever reason, whats the point making a thread on Overlords? They're one of those many groups that made several really good and great songs and then never made anything really known or great again, at least not to my knowledge of them in this genra.
  21. Well I think 2005 will be similar to 2004, with good and great releases popping up occasionally but not too often. If you think about it... ignoring all the remixed bullshit and full-on comps and albums, 2004 was a pretty good year in general. It ended with goatrance projects and some of the most ellaborate and intricate work I've heard in years, so lets look forward to the surprises. There are always surprises, and I think 2005 will maybe a bit worst than 2004 because so many releases came out in 2004, but then again there is big potential right now for... Transwave (2005, maybe 2006, whenever but I read 2005 somewhere) SHPONGLE 3 Hopefully some insanely kickass Filteria singles (new songs) on a Suntrip Records comp or whatever records comp or two. I'm not expecting a main album by Filteria in 2005 unless he really thinks he has the energy to pull it off and successfully make it as great, intricate, and melodic, or even better than the first! Maybe another Electronic Universe album... Who really knows but I prefer when Boris puts out one every other year, its like they sound better when he takes some time off in between and then back into his sounds again... or whatever he does. Pleiadians (?) MFG and AP (Will you guys release something amazing this new year?) Maybe another TALPA release, or not, but hopefully in 2006 if not 2005. I don't want any artist rushing to squeeze in another release out by the years end. Take your time and make every track brilliant. And think of all the many surprises that we don't know about. The year has just began. Its only freekin MARCH and the biggest projects usually come out at the last 4-6 months of the year. Some impressive, kickass stuff is bound to come sooner or later. While far from best, I think 2005 will not be the worst. Just ignore all that crap. Things can be a whole lot worse.
  22. LMAO!!!!!!! My thoughts and words have been heard!!! This may be the WORST cover I too have ever seen in my entire life. It makes me want to end my life, thats how bad the cover is... Its so FUCKING GAY!!! And I don't have a problem with gays either, but.. My chest is hurting from laughing so hard. OMG!!! Will someone PLEASE post the LERGER THEN LIFE picture! (I'm not sure how to post pics) NEED MORE FUNNY PICTURES!!!
  23. Sure, of course, and I don't dislike all house music. I like some house music very much. I just see Yahel basically following the typical clubish, full-on band-wagon, and considering this is a guy who's music used to be more complex, psychedelic, and fresh, its disappointing to see him make something less, aimed for the general audience, in stead of us who expect more; we know his earlier stuff was much better, regardless if it too was club-friendly psytrance to dance to. I feel this album is a disappointment not because of house or trance this or that, but because from someone like Yahel, people in generaly seem to expect or want something more original, but on hearing parts of his third album, I came to stop expectating and just enjoyed tracks on his first two albums. Yes, the first two were clubby, but it isn't 1998 anymore, ya know? The man has not evolved but watered down his style to remain more appealing, probably for those not aware of his earlier stuff, which was fairly ellaborate for what it was in its time. This leaves people like myself and many who others who liked his earlier work, feeling dated and bored by his new stuff. I'm sure some people will like it though; the people less or unaware of his far better work obviously. Yeah, I was under the impression this would be a review thread of his new album. Sounds simple and proper, right?, but then I read the first post and was like, "Wtf??... Oh great. Yeah its everyones freedom to post what they want but people should stick to the topics so that people don't open the thread and click "back" because they are turned off by the first post, which doesn't review the album at all, so its all a bit lacking and not exactly encouraging to post a review when the entire thread seems to be misdirected. Yes, and it sounds more minimal and general. The only track that seems to less formulatic or rather less predicatable or different, although nothing really original, is track 3, like a bunch of indians dancing around a fire or something.. just about everything else has those cheesy, typical melodies that are so known in most mainstream, general club/house/trance music. Its nothing new and sounds dated. I don't know, many of the artists seem to be making the music that for whatever reason ... is the trend right now in general clubs, and they're using their name hoping they'll rack up more sales, but when you bring virtually nothing new to the table, like Talamasca, Planet B.E.N. etc... its kind of like, what a waste of talent. Do something new that really stands out, even if its with house or trance music.
  24. Well since this review thread has already been corrupted, I'll keep it short. I dislike typical club-trance/house albums made mainly for clubs. YAHEL'S NEW album sounds very typical, and its a CLUB-DANCE-TRANCE album, mainly made for clubs. There is a guy singing on it! Cheesy the way its done. Ack! Track 3 sounds unique to me, but thats it. Yahels first two albums were respectable and well done. The third got "iffy" less psychedelic. His new stuff is very disappointing for those aware of his first two albums. Take a look at his cover! Are you kidding me?! Who does he think he is, David Copperfield? I think it would be interesting if on is next album, he appeard without the lit-up disco ball-looking thing, because then we can pretend that he made it disappear. hehe, kiddin. His cover looks extremely gay (no pun intended) very cheesy looking, and it almost made me want to throw up. Is his ego that big and his orginality so lacking that he has to put himself on the CD covers for recognition? ... like almost every other dj? The cover is a major turn-off. The pose just looks silly; corny; lame, unoriginal, tacky. Add this to the growing list of the other thousands of dissapointing, generic club trance releases.
