  1. I also never got into his other album(s)... This however sounds pretty unique. Occasional atmosphere. Some interesting melodies. Voice samples and sound fx. Oh yes, the melodies really compliment the songs, they accentuate the songs, like when all other sound stops but the nice melody tune playing all alone in what would otherwise be total silence (for several seconds before the crazyness kicks back in) I like that! Some of it seems to throw those unpredicable placements and moments (i.e: abrupt changes or creations in sounds, breaks, melodies, edits, distortion, other experimental mixing, etc... Based on the short samples at psyshop, this ever so slightly reminds me (at times) of a concept or two found in the unique, dark, twisted, (sometimes random in a good way), stylish coolness of Scatterbrain. The dark melodies at times, which I found so cool in Sandman - Witchcraft seem obviously inspired by something, maybe that, maybe not. They're different either way. I find it interesting that one minute I'm listening to some type of funky trance and than the next it morphs into something like psytrance or horror trance. Could be interesting. Maybe a bit too distorted, changing (at times) and unique for it's own good... or maybe this is a far better album than many of us know right now. I gotta hear longer samples. I liked what I heard on http://www.psyshop.com. Whenever I listen to every sample on an album straight though.. that is a very good thing.
  2. I can not find this on http://www.psyshop.com or http://www.saikosounds.com... This album on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk has NO available samples to stream. Where is this album available to sample and order?
  3. I think we're in agreement more or less. I actually think what you wrote was very respectful until the second part. If you're respectful, you'll delete the second part. Two wrongs don't make a right. I own and very much enjoy Yahel's first two albums. However, that thread isn't the topic for that. My gay "comment" was not intended to bash or discriminate homosexuals in general. It was intended to be humorous in a mean way ... even if some people found it not funny. It was not intended to offend anyone on the forums even if it did. It was strictly based on Yahels 2005 cover. There is a difference from calling an artist posing like THAT on his cover, a "narcissistic gay queer whatever," and calling a person (like myself) a narcisstic homosexual. Because by doing that, you're personally directing that towards me, who did not put out a cover or a picture that is obviously going to attract negative feedback. I had a pic of myself like some people on here, because I couldn't find a way to post a pic of myself with everyone else's for Moni to put in the psytrance photography book (on this site) existing in the off-topic forums. I personally have a girlfriend. I have several gay and bi friends. I am straight. What a person chooses to be is their perogative. Those are my views with those things. This thread is for fun. Mean, shallow, stupid FUN. Humor. Let any such mean and disrespectful humor not be taken out of context. And I still truly feel he looks like a real flamer on his cover. The threads getting all serious with these posts. It strays from the fun people are having with a cover that really does look gay and lame.
  4. Well that was just my first reaction. I didn't wake up and decide to hate anything. I'm commenting on the cover, not the music. I think it's ethical to get permission from those who created and finianced a film before using their material to bring attention to others work. Even if it was done for fun and without intentions of desperation or any of that other crap.
  5. First about the CD cover. It's a sign of desperation to cash in. It's lame. I mean, who the hell thinks of trance when they see a cover to Kill Bill? As soon as I saw the artists on the back I was turned off to the whole cheap rip-off pairing of a martial arts flick with... psytrance? It's almost laughable it's so bad, not the thought of psytrance in martial arts films, the thought of psytrance tracks posing on a cover ripped off to that specific martial arts flick. Second, Pulp Fiction was never a film fave of mine, but it was one of the most important films of our time. I felt it was unquestionably good, even though I admired it more than I enjoyed it. The movie had these absolutely fantastic moments. The writing, characters, acting, etc.. it helped shape and develop our culture to what it is today. The film did have parts that seemed to drag for many folks, like when the camera just sits there for minutes, like on the bed with Bruce Willis and his girlfriend. Some parts were just more catchy than others and I think with a little trimming and better pacing I would have enjoyed it more. But whatever, that's my feelings. Many friends of mine consider this film good, great, a cult-classic, and one of their movie faves of all time. Now Kill Bill was different. Vol. 1 was more action/retro/city influenced and Vol. 2 was more western influenced. I was thrown a bit off with Vol. 2 in part because of that. In short, I really enjoyed the first Volume over the Volume 2. The Pai Mei part in Vol. 2 was awesome, but overall I wished it had more action, and where was the fight scene with Bill and The Bride BEFORE she did the 5-finger thing??? I like martial arts very much and so I enjoyed Vol. 1 more. Volume 1 was just more action-oriented. I also enjoyed Vol. 2 but not as much as the first. Both had moments of greatness nonetheless I felt. For my FULL REVIEW of KiLL BiLL - Vol. 1 go here: http://www.epinions.com/content_117221461636 To read my FULL REVIEW of Kill Bill - Vol. 2 go here: http://www.epinions.com/content_137845837444
  6. Yes. That's correct. "Phutureprimitive - Sub Conscious." Wow...what an album! I'm under the impression it came out earlier this year. That's when I first saw it available on psyshop before it later became unavailable, in April 2005. See right here. It wasn't re-released. http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/wav/wav1cd001.html
  7. I see your point, and I think it would seem more logical saying that on a thread that wasn't intended to obviously make fun of something. This cover just itched for a beating from someone. Going on and on about it is immature, so let shit like that be contained on threads like this one. One of the nice things about the forums here is being able to share different feelings, views, and opinions, whether positive or negative, strong or weak. People looking for more respectful comments have the choice to view almost any of the other threads which weren't obviously posted to get comments going on a cover like this one.
  8. OH NOOOOOOOO! ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good work ppl! lol... Now all we need is his e-mail address so we can send it to him. Don't send it in a stocking though. We don't want him getting any more excited. Now where's the option at photo shop that makes this cover disappear forever so that no one ever see's it again? heh
  9. OH.....MY..... THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE ABOUT TO KISS?!! MWWWAAAAHAhahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has got to be the most.. hold on. *breathing* Okay, now I'm convinced he's gay. Why would ANYONE make a cover like that? Because they are, hmmm... Fucking gay. A NARCISSISTIC homosexual. Self absorbed QUEER artist (with waaaay to big of an ego) Pussy hater. (hey, don't hate the pussy Yahel, hate the CD cover) Not that I have any personal problem with people who swing in left field. Just keep it away from me. Regardless, if wanted to suck cock...I'd ask the universe to bring me back as a straight woman in my next life time... (although I'd rather be a wet hot lesbian) and this cover would make ANY straight or gay artist look, well... like they LOVE it up the butt. I can't put it more bluntely. The man either has no clue, concept, and awareness of what a cover should look like AND / OR He is seriously into poop shooting, ass pumping, shit packing, butt slamming, captain crunching! Is he that NARCISSISTIC that he has to put his face on the front of every cover now, and looking like that?! I remember his last covers was SO GAY, (whatever happened to that thread??? It was hilarious!!!) ...but this cover is even worse... it's like double gay.. or maybe he sucks twice the amount of cock now. I don't wanna know. This material just begging to be photoshopped.
  10. I recently [finally] bought a copy and heard the Nitrox album. What can I say? The last several tracks are truly [some of their] best work. It's too bad the rest of the album didn't follow that beautiful, downtempo/chill floating approach through-out the WHOLE album. They could have made a masterpiece album! Alas, we get too different styles back-to-back. They probably wanted to appeal to more ppl. They morph their somewhat decent or half-decent Nitrox album into something far above and beyond decent, but only towards the last third. Still I'm not complaining because I heard this expecting such disappointment. It was the samples on the last several Nitrox tracks that caught my attention. I wouldn't say Nitrox is a bad album, just maybe less complex and certainly less melody filled than faves like Alien Protein (on a level of its own) and the also unique and melodic (still my all-time Etnica fave) Equator. I still have yet to hear Juggeling Alchemists. It's on my list. And I won't even bother to name their most recent album. Based on the samples, it sounds terrible, boring, just not anything worth writing about anymore.
  11. This thread has been too jacked by comments not concerning the point of it's topic -- because it was posted too early. We need a fresh thread closer towards the end of the year. That's when the speculation is over because the albums have pretty much all came out. I usually make one of these Top 10 Best/Top Albums of "X" Year threads each year in the GENERAL FORUMS around November or December. It's NO race and I don't care if anyone beats me to it or not. This year I figured I'd wait for December. The point is to stay on point of the topic so the thread isn't misguided or misdirected. Right now it's STILL too early. I JUST got Khtezel and need time to listen to that several times... An unquestionable favorite in the downtempo genre of 2005 is: Subculture - Phutureprimitive. My favorite comp of 2005 is: Apsara. So far 2005 has NOT been a good year in my opinion, especially when compared to last year.
  12. Is it possible to still buy this album anywhere, anymore? I would like to own a copy for my collection. It's [not available] at psyshop and [out of stock] on saikosounds, so... There has to be a way.
  13. So... are we supposed to imagine what the album sounds like or are there any samples??? A link to samples would be nice.
  14. Name of album: Planum - Elaborate Has anyone heard or know about this recently released melodic psytrance album? The same label who released Talpa - The Art of Being Non released this. I was surprised to hear several tracks (melodies) very catchy. (tracks 1, 5, 6, and 10) I really like. They prompted me to post this thread. Samples on psyshop here: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/sud/sud1cd029.html P.S.: I don't find this [as] up there with Talpa, but if I thought it was bad or just "okay" I wouldn't waste my time posting it. I realize just because a label releases one album that's considered great by many doesn't mean another artist will get the same response or popularity. I found this album when searching what other albums were released by "those" who releasaed Talpa, which I consider one of last years TOP albums. Several tracks seem very cool on Planum - Elaborate if you're into more mature (not fluffy) melodies. You decide. Some of it reminds me of the higher-pitched sounds used in Misted Muppet, but in a different style. I felt myself getting hooked about 15 seconds into track 1 called Deep sounds very unique, catchy, and somewhat hypnotic I thought. Then there is this somewhat IM influence in a track or two that made me cringe a bit. What do you think?
  15. Hey Seraph, well it sounds interesting on amazon.com. Such short samples unfortunately. Are ya sure it's 1992 cause it says 1994 on amazon. Even amazon can be wrong sometimes. Anyway, I checked it out here: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000005HTY/ref=m_art_li_6/002-2349465-3255263?v=glance&s=music
  16. This ALBUM is just evil... evil in a good way, ..and more spiritual and meaningful than many of us probably think or care to know. DARK MELODIES??? lol.. It's great! It's just such a cool, under-rated, interesting, melodic (in an adult way) imaginative and overall catchy album! This one IS unique. This one IS different. This one IS certainly not for everyone, as nothing is, but this one REALLY is unique I say again. I think this is definitely worth owning, especially now if you didn't get it before... and you like dark GOATRANCE!!! Why does saidosounds say psytrance? Oh, and the bonus track Faith sounds pretty cool for it being made back then and all.. I don't think it's anything great or worth buying the album again for if you don't already own it. unless you're just THAT hardcore enough. Actually, I was very impressed back then, and of course this was before I heard some TOP stuff later on which made me become more selective, my standards increased, etc.. The review right below was written YEARS ago in the old reviews section. Keep in mind this was quite some time ago. If I had to rate this album now, having heard almost every album ever in this genra considered good / great / excellent / groundbreaking, amazing, etc... I'd probably give it a B+ or a 9/10 at the very least.. Also keep in mind I was much of many things back then, such as mature.. as you can see I was pretty "vocal" about my opinion. It's kinda funny sometimes lookiing back on how you used to act, write, behave, etc.. I was clearly, well, younger. I'll put it nicely. Oops, I spent "insane" wrong. Oh and many other words too. Wow, am I embarrassing myself by posting this? lol.. I don't even consider that a review. It's just terrible, haha! P.S: That's VERY cool that they re-released this cult-classic. Hopefully many of those people haven't completely given up now that it's available.. and are getting it while it's currently available! Slowly, in pieces, from all over the world.
  17. It would be so sweet if the artist made a real follow-up album to the style of this album, and better.
  18. Great intros, old-skool goatrance DARK! A very cool album. The intros, atmosphere, and melodies are great. Why didn't they make an album after this one in the similar non-minimal dark, more intriging goatrance style? This is unquestionably DARSHAN'S baby and it's underrated. It's mature and consistent with being strong and dark. There is also an element here (maybe that old-skool touch or the dark mysterious intros/style) that makes this album unique, intriguing.

    Pleiadians - IFO

So just cut and paste this review over your first review, to update the old one.. that is, if you haven't already.
  20. I ordered and got it for around 4 to 5 bucks in perfect condition. You can get this NEW or USED on www.amazon.com and www.amazon.co.uk.
  21. DERANGO - TUMULT Some of this album sounds too noisy for my taste. Some tracks sound too similar, like they could have been extensions off other tracks on the same album. Does anyone not feel this way? Where are the melodies??? There are hardly any! Give me something to lift me up (or even down) out of the percussion, basslines, and layers of scratchy/trippy sounds. I do like parts here and there. If you are really into Derango, you may find this good or great. I don't know, because this album sounds different from their previous dark psytrance. I've enjoyed some of their singles on comps. I think by post-poning this album's release so many times, it made it seem more than it really is. Like where is the emotional punch? I realize the music is stomping and powerful and relenetless and all, but where is the feeling? The Magic so to speak? I looked forward to this release for around 6 months! I also think that this album was arguably the most hyped [and/or] anticipated psytrance album of 2005. Alas, it doesn't seem to be bad, and it doesn't seem to be great either. There are few stand out track(s) that seem to have character sounding different; few parts that "hook" me at all. I personally find some tracks too noisy and repetitive, with lots of twisted, harsh sounds around strong percussion, kickdrum, and basslines, but I've heard stuff like this [in different styles] before. It isn't new. It would be great if they sounded more clear and coherent... and focused their efforts and talant on their best work (track 6, wicked melodies elevate the track to VERY catchy and give the listener a rush) If there was one track I had to pick, one that stood out, it's The Poisonous Square. That track is more juicy, catchy, animated, and exciting, especially when the MELODIES come in! I was looking forward to hearing more songs like THAT one! Many other tracks just seem not interesting or exciting at all to me in comparison. I feel this album needs more of those intense, take-off, wild, -- [stand-out] tracks. It NEEDS KILLER TRACKS!, (notice how listeners have listed FEW tracks that stand out for them!) not just the Derango style on a debut album. I realize it's rough, tough, and heavy, and many people like the crazy style... that's cool, but improve your work so that the noisy parts are more clear at being psychedelic and fun, exactly like parts of the album are, until certain catchy parts get washed away or lost in all the crazy sounds. The tracks start to sound the same after a while, with all the psychedelic and rough sounds around the kickdrum and bassline. We've basically all heard similar stuff before, and track 6 is more sweet sounding. On hearing it ... I was like, "Wow! Where are the other more arresting songs like this one?!?! Don't just do forest or whatever-you-call-it psytrance. Take risks. Be more than [basically] as many crazy sounds you can squeeze in around a kickdrum! Do something different and more creative and catchy. If even one-third of this album was as fun and enjoyable as track 6 ... I'd have bought it by now! I hope the next album is better and doesn't alienate those who love those wicked melodies and rhythm that Derango is so great at, and involves lift off, climaxes, ambience, atmosphere, more character, clarity in sound, etc.. that seem rare, few and far between on this album.

    Pleiadians - IFO

You know that scene in Austin Powers where Dr. Evil goes.. "Riiiiiiight." Yeah, that one. How would you know what Aliens listen to? Are you an alien? Oh, please to meet you. *shaking hands* ... I didn't know you liked complex ambient music??!! Get out of here! I subjectively never was amazed or thought excellence of the final track, period, and many people consider it a great downtempo song. Just because I don't love something doesn't mean it isn't good or great. I can objectively see quality in something even if I don't subjectively love it or it isn't my taste. I'm sure you as well have admired something even if wasn't for you. As an album, the actual style of Pleiadians is groundbreaking; not done ever before, and brilliant for what it is. Most people agree. You don't have to. Who cares? We've decided what we think of it and so have you. Difference of feelings or opinions is not a bad thing. Things are how they are. Do you not agree with this?
