  1. Just to make things clear - I was sarcastic
  2. No... not a coincidence... COSMOSIS STOLE THE MELODY!!!! Bah. Bah bah. Dance of the Cosmic Serpent starts out as a great track, why does it have to end so CHEESY?! What a ruined potential!!! I mean, the quiet part that starts at 4:40 is amazing... I even forgive the stupid quote that was played 15 seconds earlier.. but fucking hell, 5:20 - "We have to keep it rockin' so no one comes a-knockin'"... ?!?? And then that STUPID full-on vibe comes in?? What a poor choice of completing this track! The sad thing is that you can hear the base of what could've been done.. to make it... a track with HONOUR!!!! Instead, Cosmosis opted for bubble-gum. Bah =[
  3. Ka-Sol - Fairytale Talpa - The Art of Being Non Jaia - Blue Energy Loud - Some Kind of Creativity VA - Twist Dreams If you've got these CDs and are sick of them (for some insane reason), message me.
  4. Did you give it another chance? This is a seriously good album. It just makes my body move on its own..
  5. You should've see the amount of people Infected Mushroom managed to get together in mainstream Israel, to celebrate their 10th anniversary (why did they start counting at 96? odd, that). They had to hold two shows because the first show was sold out, with over 10000 people! Israel is a small country, and in fact - most of my psy-trance loving friends didn't even go because they said the gig would be too commercialized. We've got Infected Mushroom in the radio, here. They've cut a deal with a local cellular provider, they make special ringtones for our cellphones. They've made the sounds in the new ICQ version 6, they've had collaborations with tons of non-psy artists... they've been chosen the #1 trance artist by DJMag this year! Seriously, they've just shifted their focus. I guess they want to be a huge, worldwide phenomenon rather than catering to the small psytrance community - and they're well on their way. They've done remixes of The Doors, officially endorsed by The Door's music label! A compilation with some of the most popular electronic artists in the world (Oakenfold, BT, etc). Infected Mushroom taught me what psytrance is... I adore their previous efforts, and I do love some of their current offerings: Heavyweight, Vicious Delicious (the tracks that is). Also, some tracks of IM The Supervisor: Meduzze, Bombat, Stretched - etc. But, I've learnt that there are artists that create psytrance music that I love way more than IM's latest offerings: Talpa, Jaia and Artifakt are always the ones that come to mind for some reason, but there's tons of others. I wish IM good luck in their new way... I still enjoy their gigs, their music, but they sadly have "lost the lead" when it comes to my favorite artists. And yes, abasio, I agree - Erez Aizen in a solo project would indeed be amazing. Back to the source... but since they have a gig every 3 days, they're always on the road / in the air - I can't see that happening in the near future
  6. I'd have to nominate Prometheus and Asura as the two best albums this year, though the Vibrasphere, Younger Brother, and VA - Twist Dreams have also been amazing. Sync24, Sienis and Penta (he had 2 albums this year) haven't gotten enough play time from me, they will soon. I can't wait to hear the Polyploid, Logic Bomb and Eat Static based on the recommendations in this thread...
  7. When's the next Ka-Sol album coming out? Is Ka-Sol coming to play in Israel?
  8. Voodoo Dub immediately grabbed my attention... indeed - a great track! Grooooovvyyyy yet emotional!
  9. I do. 9th and Drug Sock blow my mind away. I love these tracks. Some of the best of 2007, and even some of the best of the last few years.
  10. I like this album. I really really love Happy Pills and I Am A Freak, I've heard these tracks a number of times each day the past two weeks. I fall asleep with Happy Pills in the background. When I come home, I sit down in front of my audio system and play that track, without moving. Just listening. I dislike the second track in the album, though. I haven't heard the rest of the track enough to recognize them, so I'll spare you more of my opinions.

    Artifakt - Artifakt II

Can't wait for his next album.. He just kicked the shit out of me with his 3.5 hour set a year ago... come back, Mr. Artifakt, come back and play!! :>
  12. Replying to best tracks evargh! If U2, how about Sunday Bloody Sunday? Amazing, amazing song.
  13. Feel free to elaborate... it's not that I disagree this time, it is just that I am quite peeved by your constant generalizations and biases. You're mostly negative and rarely offer anything positive and constructive in discussions.
  14. Erm, Cafe del Mar is an above average "Ibiza" trance track from the early 90's. One of the earliest tracks in the genre. However, it hasn't aged gracefully and the remixes I've heard pretty much suck. I don't get what you're all so excited about it. Edit: Oh, and this album is indeed formulaic and predictable. Hommega style Israeli full-on. I don't like it, myself. It will, however, definitely scorch the dance floor during sunrise at quite a few nature parties around here, in Israel. That is - if Alien Project chooses to play in any of these nature parties. I somehow doubt he will.
  15. Isn't Kali a remix of Jaia's Mai Mai (or some other Jaia track)? Does that make GMS's remix a remix of a remix? Most of the stuff (and by that - I mean 90% of the posts, and 99% of the tracks) you've posted is just good music, or music that you love. Not "tracks that made an impact". I can agree with IM's Bust a Move though
  16. I was listening to this new album I downloaded, Oliver Jones - One Last Time, based on a recommendation I saw on this forum... anyhow, I somehow managed to download an album from a completely different artist - the Oliver Jones I downloaded is an amazing Canadian jazz artist. I was suprised at the mistake I made and wanted to go and read that recommendation thread again - and ran into this thread! abasio - as usual, you amaze me with you quality responses. I will check out all of your recommendations.

    Asura - LifeĀ²

I really really love this album.
  18. I love this album. I can't say which tracks I love best, since I still haven't been able to figure out when tracks start and end. It's just one smooth, funky, twisting ride. Love it. I do.
  19. I love it. Especially the Talpa, Afgin and Ra tracks. The Khetzal track kicks ass also. The rest are far above average. This is a great album.
  20. How about an Artifakt - Jikkentekki project? That would be two of my favourite artists, who are very very different music-wise, combined. I wonder what would come out...
  21. In my opinion, your post gets a 6/10. You're bitter. That happens when you've run out of new things to discover. You feel as if nothing is worth your effort - and you're melancholic about the good times that were when you were younger, and the scene was younger. But like people have stated - change is part of any scene. It is good - with low points and high points, we're never going to be bored. Right now, I guess we are in a bit of a low point, but we still have some great music. Also, You've generalized the entire scene based on your festival experience. DUH! festivals are commercial by definition, especially international ones. Did you try going to the more underground parties? Did you stay 'till morning, when all the "hoodlums" go home? You see, the "serious psy lovers" which you defined are the ones that stay till the end of the party. That's the time you should enjoy it most. Also, you talk of the stereotypes of different type of people who like a specific type of music, the cliche pop teen, rap "gangsta", heavy metalheads, "punks", goa-trance hippies... that's just silly. Psytrance lovers don't have to be of the stereotype you've described, they don't even have to take drugs. It is as if you live by your imagined definitions and are suprised when they don't come true. Finally, your remark about Psykovsky style music, I guess.. maybe even Ka-Sol style, or what fucking ever.. the fact that you don't like some genre of music doesn't make it null or void. There's some amazing music out there that you'll never like. Others will like it, thank god. That keeps things varied. I hope you find your place under the sun, and keep optimistic...
  22. I'm not it'll be ready by January =[ This is really lame.
