  1. Yes and only by choice. Sometimes I will occasionally feel a huge disconnect with my friends that aren't in the psy scene and will just "have a break" from trance and electronic music altogether and return to listening to other genres I love. Eg psych rock It's good for me to have these breaks or mix up my listening so as to not entirely lose touch with the "normal" music some of my best friends and I love. Goa and psy are such a huge part of my life I have occasionally forgotten about other parts I love in the process!
  2. There are some vegan/vegetarian cafes with similar ideas. Inspiral - in Camden is one i have been to a few times. Though not playing goa only, still you can hear some in the background through the day, and they have psy events there some nights. Really cool place. I like your idea and it might work, I'm sure there might be/were some like that in Byron bay in Australia too. You would just have to find a "laid back" kind of area
  3. Haha Nice I could almost have said the same... Except i think I would mix all 3/5 albums
  4. Awesome topic I like how this forum is growing more active again lately! Guess that only happens when everyone inputs so heres mine, off the top of my head! Single CD of about 8 Tracks of my cream of the crop Neo Goa tracks. The tracks that I go back to constantly, that have blown me away the first and fiftieth time i have heard them. Bearing in mind I think it would be hard to maintain "flow" through something like this, for me anyway. 1. Khetzal - Listening Winds - Opening track maybe not neo goa but goa ambient.. still it serves as a good intro. 2. Crossing Mind - Elastic Harmonies - Building up a little faster.. but not ultimately hectic yet. A good solid first actual goa track (One of the best even..heh) 3. Goasia - Space Travellers - Always a favourite track of theirs for me, getting a little faster again. 4. Portamento - Vitamin E - Starting to get a little more hectic and acidic 5. Crossing Mind - Hydrophobic Visions - Building to the peak of the disc now, one of my favourite goa tunes of all time. 6. Filteria - Lunar Civilization Rmx - The peak of the disc. Of course! 7. Ra - Predator - Absolutely incredible tune, starting to wind down the disc a little 8. Artifact 303 - Tropical Sunrise - An almost downtempo closing track that I adore. Not entirely sure how that would flow as i haven't checked but in my head it runs together ok.. heh.
  5. I would add him too but only if his goa stuff. He is making Serbian style prog these days. :/
  6. Yup, they are reeealy quite good and mix better sets than half the guys I have seen here. Their launch night was epiiiiiic. Very full on and twilight/night full on oriented but good nonetheless.
  7. Filteria! - Which will be achieved this year, possibly numerous times. I have to make the most of being close to Europe while I'm here! Hallucinogen - Set to be achieved in just a few months at Freedom Festival. Another "lifelong" goal! Heh Shpongle - even though I have once. Derango - Missing out due to clashing dates but hopefully next year. Ajja - should be seeing at freedom as well Cosmosis - If he played an old school set Anoebis - Not a producer but would love to catch a goa/Suntrip set from him while I am here! Guess there is a lot more too, hopefully this summer I get to realise most of them!
  8. Australians love Sensient. Except me lol.. I can't stand his stuff or almost any of his labels. It is basically just "chunky" minimal to my ears... I don't really consider it psytrance. Blahhh. People seem to love his production and I'm sure he knows his shit, I just find his music boring, and not a good vibe on the df.. Each to their own but!
  9. Everyone missed the point which was just that Astral were known for their ridiculously huge gear list... I just found it ironic that's all.. Didn't mean to spark a soft vs hard debate... Lol. Anyway I guess they blew all their hardware money on coke these days.
  10. Sometimes I have felt like I wanted to get one, then wimped out haha. Jealous of that Simon one though! Nice effort!
  11. Loved that video. Heh while I love every part of psy and the scene and even some of what it has become, I can definitely still laugh at it, and at myself heh. If you can't do that then... Also makes me appreciate goa more heh. Ps: I have tried and find all of Louds albums booriiiiing, but in a totally different way somehow. Least they are different I guess!
  12. No... I just found it odd that an artist once known for their extravegant gear list, perhaps one of the most extravegant, would now be using a cheap soft synth. (Not knocking Sylenth1, I'm well aware it is great for what it is).
  13. Since when would astral use sylenth vsts on a shitty laptop with shaky cam... Is this even them? seems dodgy.. :/
  14. That is a pretty awesome collection so far! @ Mars - That is just teasing though! hah I'll add this one, for its crazyness, and for going from night into day Ubar Tmar Live in Israel
  15. Soooo inspired by the Etnica Live in Athens and Koxbox live sets, what are some of your favourite recorded live sets? Live sets are a unique experience occasionally surpassing the original material and often once in a lifetime! If you got em please share em so we can all enjoy!
  16. I looooved the stream yesterday was really cool to see. Wish I could have popped round as they were like half hour from me.. Hmm stalkerish but? Lol. Cheers for the entheogenic tip richpa, didn't know they had new stuff coming! my 2nd favourite psybient group!
  17. I remember digging this but the dubstep was really jarring for me. Just not what I would include. Still though great album otherwise
  18. Mmm I started with Shpongle and other psybient stuff, and being interested in all psychedelic music lead me to psytrance and goa.. Not that I call most of today's full on "psychedelic" at all, but that's another topic.. Not sure if it was the "worldly" kind of sound of goa or the maximal style of layer upon layer of sounds, but its what I loved the most from the start... It resonates the most with me. Anyway, as to what I do to help, probably just support the artists I love. And go to as many parties/festivals where producers/djs I like are playing. I soon realised long ago that regular people are often not that open to psytrance, so I stopped trying to introduce anyone and everyone to it. I did however introduce my beautiful gf to it and she went from "it sounds like Nintendo music" to asking me when the next gig is and stealing my collection after her first party.
  19. Dont drink beer anymore as I came to my senses and realised it just tastes bad. Hah. Nah I think I just got sick of it from past consumption in my younger days.. These days we are usually drinking cider and since moving to the Uk there are way more here to try than Australia. Some really really bad and probably bad for you though, 1 Pound for a big can of 7.5% cider... eek. All the homeless people in London drink them i later found out. This however is my current/forever drink of choice
  20. Even though I think this thread is a bit silly.. I wanted to pop in to say Tonight I am going to an all female dj psy gig, Radi should stop by u might find more than u wish for haha.
  21. Tatsu, you should check out Terrafractyls newest EP - A Speck of Dust Reeeeeally good and a trippy journey in itself. Will get my review up for it sooon. Also just Kinematic records in general should/will have the sound you are after
